From being interviewed for a job to losing one, stress is everywhere in life. Many are even familiarized with stress on a daily basis. In high school, students face high stress levels due to excessive expectations from parents and large workloads. Stress is the body 's way of responding to demands placed on the brain. Despite having several definitions, the more common use of stress is categorized in two different ways: eustress and distress.
Stress is defined as "accentuation" in many thesauri and is used when speaking to others. This stress is used on words, generally, to emphasize the importance of the word or phrase by changing tone or visually highlighting. However, stress is more often referred to as the natural reaction that every living being faces when encountering any form of challenge in the brain. Daily activities offer minor hassles that the brain has to deal with before it can focus fully on new objectives.

The word stress came from England in the fourteenth century according to Merriam-Webster, but was originally formed from the word strictus in Latin. The term was originally used to explain afflictions and calamity, only later in the sixteenth century was it used to exaggerate words or phrases. It took time to develop stress, but currently the expression is used daily in multiple ways.
The kind of stress that causes people to improve themselves or make better decisions is known as eustress. Good forms of stress can come from situations as buying a new home. Committing to something as big as purchasing a new home can make buyers nervous about what they are getting themselves into. Reflection on the choice of buying a new house leads to more suitable amenities and fewer consequences. Stress does not always have a negative effect, most of the time the effects can be positive. On the other hand stress is associated with the development of most major mental health problems such as depression, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and pathological aging (Marin, 2011). It has also been linked to all leading physical causes of death such as heart disease, cancer and stroke (Cohen, Janicki-Deverts, & Miller, 2007).
Stress is something we all go through and over time our stress beings to build up. The transition from elementary to middle school into high school can be very intense. All that we do, we are bound to encounter stress. Stress can be defined as a state of mental or emotional strain or tension resulting from adverse or very demanding circumstances. Whenever one is facing difficulty ,suffering anxiety, or feeling worried,stress will immediately take over. Stress has been, and will remain to be, a natural part of our daily routine. This causes many to underestimate its overall effects.
According to National Institute of Health, stress is an internal state that people experience as they encounter changes throughout their lives. III. I have learned about the effects of stress due to my personal experience such as dealing with depression, weight gain, and being antisocial. IV. Today I will explain the physical, mental, and emotional effects of stress.
In America, people all over the world deals with stress. Being a nurse is a stressful job. Being stress can be fatigue and even cause ill health for an individual. Stressing in the environment can cause employees to stressful situations causing difficult health, and safety problems not only for the nurses, but also for their patients. INTRODUCTION Stress is a word derived from Latin word “Stingere” meaning to draw tight. (Mojoyinola, 2008) Stress is your body’s way of responding to any kind of demand or threat. When you feel threatened, your nervous system responds by releasing a flood of stress hormones, and including adrenaline and cortisol, which rouse the body for emergency action. Your heart pounds faster, muscles tighten, blood pressure rises, breath quickens, and your senses become sharper. These physical changes increase your strength and stamina, speed your reaction time, and enhance your focus.
In college, students experience a great deal of stress for the first time in their lives. In the past, they experienced little stresses that came with growing up, but now they experience stress from the real world and it can be overwhelming. The stress in college is more serious than any they had experienced prior because it is a time that will define the rest of their lives. For many, this is the first time getting a loan, the first time having to care for themselves, the first time studying for massive exams, and the first time that their decisions will affect the rest of their lives.
