9/11
On September 11, 2001 terrorists affiliated with Al-Qaeda hijacked and crashed two American airplanes into the Twin Towers, killing thousand and injuring hundreds. This was the worst terrorist attack in American history. It showed that even the most powerful country in the world was subject to attack. This attack exposed the vulnerability of the United States as a nation. The 9/11 attacks changed the country forever; some lost family members, friends, and those who survived are forever hunted by the events of September 11, 2001. The entire country was in pandemonium including my family.
I remember the day like it was yesterday. For me it was no different from every other Wednesday. I was only six year and completely ignorant of what was going on in New York. I wrote a short letter thanking the firefighters and police for helping and saving all those people from the burning building. It went thus: “Thank you Mr. firefighter for keeping me and my family safe. Thank you for saving all those people from the burning building. Thank you for being there when we need you. You are my Hero”.
Although the images of the event were still fresh in my mind I had no understanding of it. I often wondered as a kid why an airplane would crash into a building in broad day. These and many more questions went unanswered for year until the 6th anniversary of the attacks. My 7th grade social studies teacher Mr. Drummond gave answers to the questions I had about the 9/11 attacks. He even showed a documentary about the attacks in class for us to better

Al Qaeda terrorists hijacked 4 commercial planes, crashing them into the 2 World Trade Towers, the Pentagon, and a field in Pennsylvania. 9/11 was one of the deadliest attacks on American soil. Yes, it was horrific. Yes it was terrible. Yes it absolutely was tragic.
The 9/11 bombing caused dramatic changes in the lives of many Americans not only because of the sense of unity that came with the painful tragedy of the destruction and loss, but from the United States Patriot Act. The Patriot Act is a law that was passed just 45 days after the 9/11 catastrophe in the name of national security. The Patriot Act enabled investigators to more information possibly associated with terrorist related crimes.
On September 11, 2010, three jets were hijacked and destroyed twin towers in New York City and hitting the Pentagon. This terrorist attack killed over a thousand of people and plotting a huge spot in history. It affected people who lost loved ones in the tragedy. It also made people feel people feel unsafe to go airplanes and to travel anywhere. As a result to 9/11 the government response was to fight back, because of their response it was criticized.
The events that occurred on September, 11, 2001 were among the most catastrophic events in American history. The events of the day were summarized as 19 militants associated with the terror group al-Qaeda hijacked four airplanes and carried out targeted attacks in the United States. Out of the four planes, two of them were flown into the World Trade Center in New York, a third one into the Pentagon in Washington and the fourth one crashing off course into a field. The attacks resulted in the deaths of over 3000 people and the beginning of a soon to come American counter terrorism policy and the subsequent invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq. Although there are a lot of conspiracy theories around the real motives and players behind the attack,
The 9/11 tragedy was a moment where people had their guard up at all times. This was a time where life had strike to reality of time warfare with every person and country. Couldn’t trust no one that came to the U.S. America is the land of the free and the home of the brave, were brave because the generations before us had to face what had happened and to what is going to happen. This had left the buildings torn instantly killing hundreds of many people, getting them stuck in the higher floors. Nearly the whole country watched in horror on the morning of September 11, 2001. As the planes crashed and the towers burned, many thought it simply wasn’t true. They believed that it was impossible that someone could hate America that much. It was true, and it left lasting effects on Americans everywhere. Al-Qaeda had carried out a plan so horrific that it killed nearly three thousand people.

Two years later we entered Iraq. Many soldiers that were deployed over seas returned home with disabilities, or didn 't return home at all. 9/11 was a scary and devastating time for many families. The shock and disbelief of 9/11 revealed that America felt that something like this could not possibly happen to us. It showed that the security of our country had been compromised
The terrorist attacks on 9/11 have caused many debates over the years since they occurred back in 2001. Two American planes were hijacked and ran into the twin tower buildings, another was hijacked and headed for the pentagon, but thankfully never made it. Thousands of Americans lost their lives on the days of the attacks and to this day the sorrow hangs with us. Security was a huge debate of the time because America is supposed to be the safest nation there is, so how did this happen? America had lots of changes to make the attacks on September 11, 2001.
One moment it was a normal day and the next moment will forever be ingrained within the minds of an entire nation. The first plane hit at 8:46 a.m. and the second at 9:03 a.m., leaving 2,819 people dead. September 11, 2001 will always be remembered as a day of great destruction, a day of great loss. September 11, 2001 was the day two planes flew into the World Trade Center, forever changing the way of life for all of America. After this horrible act of terrorism the president of the United States gave a speech addressing the nation.
Terrorist campaigns were climbing in decades prior to 9/11. A group of terrorists attacked New York’s World Trade Center on February 26, 1993. The aim of this attack was to drive two bomb loaded trucks into the basement of a building to bring down both of the towers of the World Trade Center. The mission was not accomplished, but the attack did kill six people. The organizer of this attack was Ramzi Yousef, whose uncle went on to be the operational commander of the attack at the World Trade Center on 9/11.
The attacks killed 2,996 people and injured over 6,000 others. Al Qaeda terrorists hijacked four planes. Two of the planes (American airline flight 11 and united airlines flight 175) Crashed into the north and south towers of world trade center in New York City. One hour and 42 minutes after the crash of the planes both 110 stories towers collapsed resulting fire and the collapsing and damage to the other towers. Including the seven world trade center tower which has 47 stories.
