Elvis: The King of Rock Elvis Presley had one of the best music careers on earth. He was considered the King of Rock and has made many hit singles. Presley is a great music legend born in Mississippi. Elvis Presley, known as the King of Rock, introduced rock and roll to the nation and left a huge impact on the music industry. Presley was born on January 8, 1935 in Tupelo Mississippi. Elvis as a child was introduced into Gospel music by the Assembly of God Church in Tupelo Mississippi. In 1946 his parents bought him a Guitar at a hardware store in Tupelo around his birthday. This also introduces him into music which will later become Rock and Roll. “Baby, lets Play House”, which was number five on the top 20 country chart and was released in 1955. “I Forgot to Remember to Forget” which was also released in 1955 hit number 1 on the country chart. Mystery Train which was on 11 on the country chart and was also released in 1955. I was the one was placed number 19 on the top 20 pop chart and number 8 on the top country chart which was released in 1956. Skipping some songs, because he has an extensive amount of music he has written. Jailhouse Rock in my opinion is probably one of his best songs ever recorded. Hitting number one in all categories, including R&B, Country, and Pop. This song revolutionized his career. Another song that was great was Teddy Bear, which hit number 1 in all categories and was produced in 1957. Another song was All Shook Up which made all ones in all categories in 1957. Don’t ask me Why did not do well, expect in R&B which made 2nd in 1958. One Night did okay, but only hit 4 in Pop and 10 in R&B. Hard headed Woman is another single that did well, produced in 1958, it was number 1 in pop, 2 in country and 2 in R&B. Presley won many awards in his lifetime and has been in many music Hall of Fames. He has many golden records in his time and has received many awards. He was inducted within the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986. He was in the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1988. He got inducted into the Gospel
