The American Revolution was a political chaos or disruption that took place during the 1765 and 1784. The American Revolution was the point, were we learned to get better along with countries. This brought discontent, horrible lost, but independence. Seventeen years ago one of the major causes of the American Revolution occurred. One of those major causes was the Boston Tea Party. The Boston tea party was on December 16, 2014. The cause of the action was by the Tea Act. Tea act was created on the 1773. The parliament gave a monopoly on tea to the East Indian Company, which benefit them. They own the entire product or were the only one to sell them. Colonists were not being fooled by the crown and were mad that Britain agents could be …show more content…
(The Sons of Liberty were a gang of the patriotic colonists). Seeing that the colonists weren’t glad and opposing the Tea Act. Colonist actions made the parliament angry and disrespected. The royal parliament decided to take a serious step ahead and enforced them the intolerable act. The Intolerable Acts as you know were in response to the Boston Tea Party. The laws behind this act were five. Each had an important detailed that created this act. The first law was the Impartial Administration of Justice Act was formed by allowing the royal governor could moved trails to other colonies wherever they liked if cases weren’t fully achieved correctly. The second law is Massachusetts Bay regulating act was formed by cursing all types of meeting or reunions without approval of the governors. The third law was the Boston Port Act was when they closed the Boston harbor to get the price even. The fifth law that formed the intolerable act was the Quartering act. This act or law allowed royal troops to stay in townhouses or colonists houses if their place to stay wasn’t available. The last law that makes up the intolerable act is Quebec act, which concludes with the idea to give religious freedom …show more content…
Colonists saw unfairness and an act of violation of their natural rights. As in the constitutional states “All men are created equal.” Our beloved Richard Henry lee, now today retired he was a statesman from Virginia who helped gain independence from Great Britain. Mr. Richard Henry Lee stood up in the place of the colonists, his friends, and his people. He described the act as “a most wicked system for destroying liberty of America.” These words not only made us feel secure, but happy to now that our representatives disagreed with it too. Continuing the intolerable act turned the colonists even more against the British. The Americans started to create this enormous hate against them. Because of the harshness of the act, it made it impossible to go against the parliament. Inspiring the American Revolution. Seventeen years ago many decision went wrong and many right. It is not always that the decisions we make can go
I started off my research by looking into the the events that have led to The Boston Tea Party, and here is what I have found. At the end of the war between France and Britain, King George III, decided he needed a way to pay off
The king punished Boston for their act of rebellion with Coercive Acts These acts closed the Boston Harbor and forced colonists to house redcoats and feed them. The colonists called these acts the “Intolerable Acts”. Colonists were astounded, but also enraged that the king had begun to
Recently, parliament passed the Intolerable Acts of 1774. These acts closed the Boston Harbor until Boston paid for the lost tea. They also created these laws to ban our town meetings and important self governing. In addition to that, Parliament created a No Quartering Act. This means that British soldiers can come into our house whenever.
Also known as the intolerable acts. Passed in 1774, made to implement a vigorous policy in the american colonies. The Coercive acts were meant to reverse the trend of colonial resistance but actually provoked higher levels of resistance. This act included the Boston Port Act which shut down the port until damages from the boston
Various newspapers called for a ban on imported British goods and non-consumption of British goods and more home manufactures (LEP,5-3b). Boston, Massachusetts once again set the stage for rebellion, “its assembly petitioned the King, not Parliament, against the new measures. Without waiting for a reply, it also sent a Circular Letter to the other assemblies, urging them to pursue “constitutional measures” of resistance” (LEP5-3b) against different taxes and use the profits from the Townshend Act to pay their political figure heads. With the Boston Massacre, British soldiers murdering innocent people simply by mistake, this was a turning point in regards to public opinion. In addition to this, Lord North prompted Parliament to repeal the Townshend duties, all but the one on tea.
This source start with a month a month before the Boston Tea Party. It talks about what lead to the events that took place. The source is very descriptive and goes into the minor details. Like how there were handbills posted around town talking about how the ships carrying tea would be docked and that they should use it as a chance to demonstrate so resistance. It tells about the meeting that was held to discuss how they were going to prevent the tea from landing.
To start off, the Boston tea party was one of the causes of the American Revolution But before we get into the Boston tea party, we have to know a few things about the French and Indian War. Basically Britain and France fight a war for control over North America from 1756 to 1763. Britain wins, however they went into a big amount of debt fighting in it. After the war, the government of the British decided that the American colonist had to help pay that debt.
The Intolerable Acts were enforced as a punishment for what happened during the Boston Tea Party. They were a series of four acts. The first of the four acts were that the Boston Harbor had to be shut down, the second of the four acts was that the colonist were not aloud to hold a meeting more than once a year, the third of the four punishments were that if any British officer was charged with any major crime could
As the colonists grew more and more frustrated, the Parliament wouldn’t stop and would pass two more acts. These were a little different than the past acts because the past ones specifically focused on punishing the people of Boston. The last two acts affected the colonies as a whole and one stated that any member of the British army could stay at a colonial household and expect to be provided with food, shelter, and other resources. The last of the Intolerable Acts was meant to give religious freedom to Roman Catholics and to earn their loyalty if the colonies were to ever rebel
The American Boston tea party was probably the most unreasonable and destructive action taken by either of the two parties during this period, yet somehow historians portray this act as a sign of courage and independence. However, no matter how unreasonable the Americans were, they got the response they wanted from the British. The British responded to the Boston Tea Party with the “Coercive Acts” or the “Intolerable Acts” as some put it (“The Third Imperial Crisis”). This is where British reasonability exited the picture. The Intolerable Acts were four different acts that served as punishment rather than advancement of the British economy.
The American Revolution occurred between 1765 and 1783. Colonists in the thirteen american colonies had disagreements with the british monarchy and aristocracy. The American Revolution War was also known as the U.S. War of Independence. During these years Americans went through a series of battles and new laws and rules were set. During the American Revolution there were a lot of long term and short term causes, including economic factors, english political legacy, and foreign policy.
and they too were attacked so they had to fire into the mob. Parliament passed the Tea Act, which gave the British East Indians company a complete monopoly of the American tea business meaning the colonists could only buy tea from this company. The colonists opposed this law even though it lowered the price of tea. They viewed the tea Act as merely another example
Intolerable Acts The Intolerable Acts can be viewed as one of the first sparks to the flaming fire of America claiming Independence. The Intolerable Acts, also called the Coercive Acts, were a series of laws passed in 1774 in order to punish the colonies for defying their rule. Four out of five of the Intolerable Acts were directed towards Massachusetts directly and the other was directed at Quebec. All of the Acts were supposed to stop the colonies from defying England’s Rule and show the colonies that England was still in charge.
If the Boston Tea Party had never happened many aspects of American life would be altered. Great Britain lost a large amount of money because of the colonies during this event, and in the end they lost the Colonies. The Colonists were punished for wasting Great Britain’s money, so they decided to fight back. The Boston Tea Party also caused a war and earned the Colonies their freedom.
