He enjoys spending time with his grandmother, who is his guardian and during his free time he enjoys music and cars. Manny has gotten in trouble for public drunkenness and was likely associating with his peers from the neighborhood that are likely older than him. I know that I always enjoyed my math classes because my teacher was really helpful and I felt comfortable talking to her when I didn’t understand something we learned in class. Me: Since you said you were interested in cars and music perhaps we can see if there is any elective classes at the high school for you to be in that would allow you to learn more about those topics and …show more content…

Me: I know that you have gotten in trouble from drinking recently and that is the main reason you have come to see me. I am not here to lecture you and tell you that you made a bad choice, because I think you already know that. Some of the choices you have made are going to affect your chances of getting out of this neighborhood. If you continue to hang out with the same group of people that are drinking instead of going to school, you will have a much more difficult time getting out of this neighborhood. You said you wanted to get out of this town one day, correct? (assuming he

However, Lou Gehrig was faced with a deadly disease that would kill him two years later. He still managed to address his fans and is still remembered for not only by excelling on the Baseball Diamond, but by delivering a speech that still touches a lot of people’s hearts to this day.

Manny’s narrative in Parrot in the Oven is relatable because we both have family issues, don’t feel like we belong, and last but not least changes in our financial situations. One thing that me and Manny relate to is family. How there is always something bad , or something maybe even good going on. Manny and I both have a pretty weird family set up.
Since being exposed to dangerous community filled with drugs and gangs, Lafayette is able understand at a young age many boys do become associated with the violent crimes. Martinez supports theses characteristics by putting samples of interior monologue displaying these things and allowed the reader to get in on it as well. In my opinion, Manny can be an actual person. In the story, he goes through a lot of situations that kids his age are actually facing in the real life world. I know of a few people that were in predicaments similar to Manny’s, his life is pretty much reality. I feel like Manny could be someone that i would meet at school some random day, Martinez put the events together in a well way and gave Manny a hint of the real world.
Not all juveniles do drugs for a straightforward reason. Take Fernando Ellis, a young man who ended up taking drugs everyday. The author also makes note of the fact that his own experiences as a child may have had a bias on his
