By: Sheccid Alvarado Vela
Texts: Cujo by Stephen King; Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank.
In this essay I will talk about how people can best respond to conflicts, it depends on how they think their attitudes, values, emotions, the situation, and how they are in life. I will talk about how the characters of these two stories react and faced their problems.
“Cujo”: is about a woman named Donna, she was trapped inside her car with her san (Tad). Donna knew that her and her son’s life was in danger because she started hearing something that was growling from inside the garaje, it was a dog, named Cujo, he was bitten by a bat and he had rabids beacuse of that. That no matter what situation you are through, you have to react and think the best way for you and the other security.
“The Diary of Anne Frank”: is about a 13 year old Girl, she and her family are Jews, and she tells, in her diary, all she and her family (The Franks) lived at that times, because they were in the World War II.
One of the things she said in her diary, is that she and her family were in danger from the Nazis in the World War II. She and her whole family were Jewish, and the Nazis were sending all the Jewish people to the concentration camps, where they can either be killed or worked until they die, they treated them worse tan animal, they didn’t receive enough food and wáter, they were separated from their families, and they were physically hurted. So the Franks had to hide from them, aand they decided to move from their house to another place.
She and her family had many problems because of the World War II, they didn’t had the same rights, they weren’t treated the same, lived with many fears because they didn’t want the Nazis to captured
Title Conflict can influence an individual’s decisions and actions. People have conflicts everyday. Conflicts can sometimes be as simple as which milk you are going to buy. Conflicts can also be as difficult as watching your parents going through a divorce. Some people can prevail because they learn how to live with the difficulties of adversity.
When it comes to certain topics, multiple interpretations can be revealed, as an argument progresses. Sometimes it may be hard to tell which side is in the right. Subsequently, opinions continuously fly back and forth between individuals who can’t seem to stop disagreeing with each other. Moreover, internal conflicts occasionally arise as well, within each individual, due to new information that develops from their personal trials. Finding a piece of literature where the reader can relate to is a great fortune.
Do you ever stop to think or realize that you should appreciate where you get your things from? Or if you really know someone? Or even if something is right or wrong? In these relationships, mother between her kids from Bucket of Blood, wife between her husband in The Wife’s story, and one person against a whole village, they all go through these situations. In these stories, it helps readers understand how people and different and how they act towards it.
Conflict happens when a character experiences some type of fight or dispute. Conflict can be internal or external, and generally makes for a more interesting story and a much more enjoyable experience for the reader. The conflict in Borders by Thomas King is the most important element of the story, as the conflict between Laetitia 's mother and the security at the Canada-United States
During World War II, the German Reich marched across the entire continent of Europe. During the Holocaust, many people became discouraged and lost hope in the future of society. However, the excerpts from “Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl,” written by herself, and “Hitler Youth: Growing up in Hitler’s Shadow” by Susan Campbell Bartoletti, prove that being positive and persevering is the best thing that someone can do. Whether hiding from the Nazis or already taken by them, the best response to have during conflict and chaos is maintaining a positive outlook on life and to persist through difficult times.
In life, conflict is a natural sense of relations between two people. Conflict is always going to occur in life from seeing someone to meeting them. However, with conflict comes theme as they are interconnected. Among the conflicts is between two characters named Duncan and Roach in the novel Acceleration by Graham Mcnamee. The conflict Duncan has with himself also leads to a conflict with Roach.
In contrast to the Wakatsuki’s, the Frank family was put in a life or death situation. They were targeted by the German Nazi Party in which discriminated all Jews. Unlike Jeanne Wakatsuki, Anne’s family had a smaller area to work with and could not step foot out of the door. She attempts to put the situation in her own words. As stated in The Diary of a Young Girl, “I see the eight of us in the Annex as if we were a patch of blue sky surrounded by menacing black clouds.
Children during the Holocaust were targeted because they were weak and small, and the Nazis wanted strong and independent Jews who were willing to work, but some children were strong and were able to work in labor camps. The lives of children inside the camps grew up with the grim memories of being separated from loved ones by death and torture. Hitler’s goal was to destroy a whole entire race and by targeting the kids, this would be a faster way of killing many innocent Jews. Depending on the age of the child and the gender, would determine whether or not that child would live because the Germans would rather prefer the boys over girls. The boys were known to be more stronger and more independent than girls, that is why girls would be separated
An example of one of the conflicts presented is man vs society. To introduce, the main character Anita is living in a compound with her family in the Dominican Republic. The country is ran by the dictator, El Jefe, or as some others refer to him as “Mr. Smith.” Most families disagree with his policies
They stayed with their religion, although cruel feelings. So the result that they established a new life as religion and friends and they are getting rid of the old traditional which (they are still more a long time. The conflict refers to cultural encounter that gives the attention) in a short story. It may be external between characters against some outside force such as another person, nature, and society. Conflict may also be internal, happening within a character.
Have you ever considered what it would be like to hide for your life? Anne Frank was a young girl during WWII who had to leave everything she knew and loved to go into hiding. Anne recorded everything (in depth) about what happened when she was in hiding in a secret annex with other people. Throughout this book, god and evil was an outstanding theme that arose in different ways. Good and evil in society as a whole during WWII, good and evil within the eight people in hiding, good and evil in Anne’s character, and my reaction to “I still believe, in spite of everything, that people are really good at heart,” are four topics that will be covered in this essay.
In the Anne Frank film and play, Miep shows courage, compassion, and sacrifice during the film/play. Miep shows courage, compassion, and sacrifice. Mr.Kraler is one of their protectors, Miep is also a protector and Mr.Frank is one of the people hiding in the Secret Annex during WWII with the Van Daans and Mr.Dussel. They are all Jews and are hiding from the Nazis so they do not get sent to a concentration camp. They lived in the Secret Annex for 2 years during WWII.
This story is abut a girl that was writing her daily days while she was in the holocaust She was venting her fears and frustrations, and contemplating her everyday life. She was given the diary as a present from her parents in 1942, and named it Kitty. Through her diary writing, Anne Frank was in many ways her own counsellor in a time of great suffering and tribulation. She realized that writing down her thoughts and feelings could help her cope with the anxiety of the war and Nazi persecution.
Conflict is the essence of any literary fiction. The main goal of an author is to tell a story that keeps the reader interested. At the story’s core, conflict is the momentum of happening and change and is crucial on all levels for delivering information and building characterization as well as building the story itself. Conflict is the source of change that engages a reader and keeps them interested. In a story, conflict and action does what description and telling of feelings and situations do not.
