The Outsiders Essay Why all the fighting? It doesn't solve anything. It just causes more problems necessary. There's always so much of it, it's hard to make it go away. When the Greasers and Soc's fight, have you ever noticed how no one ever wins? The book, The Outsiders, by S.E Hinton is about brother hood and friendship. Is also about two gangs called the Greasers and the Soc's constantly arguing and fighting. Constantly fighting about their gangs placement in their cities, girls, and where they can and can't go. This chapter includes something awful. It was about two o'clock in the morning. Ponyboy and Jonny lost track of time and fell asleep. Jonny woke up Ponyboy to tell him that he should probably go home. Ponyboy took Jonny's advice and went home. No longer then a few minutes later Ponyboy went running to Jonny and telling him that they were running away. After Jonny finally calmed Ponyboy down, he got it out of him that Darry had hit him. Ponyboy told Jonny that he could go home after he cooled down. As they were walking to the park nearby, they noticed the same car they had seen previously that night when they got caught by a couple of Soc's trying to walk their girls home after they had ditched their boyfriends after they were drinking. As the guys pulled up and got out of their car, Ponyboy noticed that they were drunk. The Soc's kept harassing the boys and they knew a fight was about to happen. So, Jonny reached into back pocket to make sure he still had the switchblade they were lucky he had. Ponyboy clearly said something that the Soc's didn't like and they went after them. As a couple of the Soc's were kicking and beating Jonny, the remaining Soc's were trying to drown Ponyboy. He was struggling but managed to get loose. They caught him and continued to drown him. The guys who were beating Jonny, stopped and ran to help the Other Soc's with Ponyboy. Now that Jonny was loose. He had no choice. He took out his switchblade and ran after the Soc's. In other words, fight. They decided to have this rumble for many reasons. One reason would be to figure out what places the other gang can't go, and just because the gangs were tired of each other. They wanted to solve all their problems. The greasers decided to dedicate this rumble to Jonny. They wanted to win this rumble for Jonny. Because when Jonny killed Bob, Jonny and Ponyboy decided to run away. They did this so they wouldn't get caught and thrown in jail. They knew it was self defense but they didn't want to take that risk. So, they went to Dally and they got some money or food, a gun, and a jacket for Ponyboy. They went to Dally because they knew if they wanted to get out of town and away from prying cops, they knew Dally would be the person to make it happen. While they were in the church Dally had sent them to a week prior, Jonny fell asleep with a cigarette still lit without Jonny realizing it. Later that day, Dally showed up and took them to lunch for some real food. After lunch they went back to the church , it was on fire. While pulling up, Ponyboy overheard how a bunch snuck into the church before it set flames. Jonny and Ponyboy knew it was their fault, so they jumped out of the car and bolted into the church. Soon after they arrived, five intoxicated Socs showed up to start some trouble. The Socs told them to stay away, then all chaos broke loose: “‘You really killed him, huh, Johnny?’... ‘I had to. They were drowning you, Pony. They might have killed you.
Bob is dead. Jonny has killed him. While Ponyboy was getting drowned by David, johnny was scared that the other “Socs” were going to start in on him. Why did Johnny kill Bob? Because he was scared!
The outsiders In this Century everybody's fighting. They are fighting for all different reasons. But fighting doesn’t solve anything, it only makes things worse. Anytime you fight there is always a downfall and you don’t walk away with everything perfect.
After this they were both hospitalized and Pony came out fine but Johnny was in critical condition and died soon after. This was also very unexpected because Johnny had just killed someone and now he was saving someone’s life. In addition to this, the example from the end of the story showed how Darry once again saved Ponyboy. During the rumble Ponyboy was pinned to the ground getting punched when Darry came over grabbed the Soc and threw him off of Ponyboy.
The Outsider was a story about two rival gangs between the greasers and the socs Ponyboy the main character lost his mom and dad in a auto wreck but still has his brothers soda pop and Darry. Ponyboy spots a red Corvair behind him and runs faster to get away from it and Ponyboy gets surrounded by five socs one of them pulls a knife from his pocket Ponyboy tries to escape but, can’t he screams out for Darry one of the Socs pulls out a hancherchief and shuts him up out of nowhere Darry shows up and scares them off. Ponyboy remembers how beaten up Little Johnny when the socs beat him up Little Johnny wouldn’t fight or hurt anyone. Soda Pop tries to help Ponyboy not to worry about the socs to much he tells that he would want to marry Sandy after she gets out of school and him getting a better job while still helping Darry paying the bill and stuff. Detail of Event:The detail of this event is that Ponyboy and Johnny are walking in the park, Before the murder happened . So they were just walking in the park and then they saw the “Socs” coming so they were saying to themselves “We should RUN” but then they got closer and closer so their chances of running and getting away were very slim. (The Socs Were planning to beat them up) so the “Socs” got out of the car and they said “Hey greasers” and they said hi and everything, anyways they kept talking and all of a sudden they took Ponyboy's head into the fountain trying to drown him and Johnny didn't know what to do so he took out his switchblade and stabbed Bobby in the gut and killed him on the spot and Johnny was like “I just killed someone
Ponyboy’s vs the Socs The fiction book the,”The Outsiders,” by S.E. Hilton tells the reader about the ongoing fighting between the west side and the east side in Tulsa Oklahoma in 1965. Hilton writes about a young greaser or east sider and his family fight against the Socs or West siders. In the novel you see ponyboy’s view of the Socs and how it evolves from the beginning of the book to the end.
It is about how a gang of low-income teens, the Greasers, conflicts with another gang of wealthy teens, the Socs. By being loyal to each other, the Greasers have overcome most of the challenges that the Socs have proposed. This is why the major theme of The Outsiders is that loyalty is essential for a group’s survival and well-being. One way that loyalty is demonstrated in the novel is how the characters grouped together to protect one another from physical threats. An example of this is when Ponyboy was mugged and beat up by the Socs at the beginning the book.
When Ponyboy and Johnny are preparing to jump a freight train, Ponyboy thinks to himself, “Then for the first time, really, I realized what we were in for. Johnny had killed someone. Quiet, soft-spoken little Johnny, who wouldn't hurt a living thing on purpose, had taken a human life. We were really running away, with the police after us for murder and a loaded gun by our side. I wished we'd asked Dally for a pack of cigarettes....”
And there were kids who went in there before the fire they were there when the fire started , so ponyboy and johnny went in to save them they both got severely burnt and injured jonny later on died ponyboy is ok.before johnny died there was as rumble greasers vs socs. Ponyboy went downhill because he got beat up at the rumble. Ponyboy acted sicklike, for example he smoked in his bed. He stayed in bed and didn’t go
They decided that they would walk to Two-Bit’s house and drive them home in his car. While they were walking, Cherry and Marcia 's boyfriends drove up to them and they left. Pony and Johnny were on their way home but they decided to stop at the lot and look at the stars for a while. Eventually, they both fell asleep and by the time Ponyboy got home, it was 2 am.
“I am a greaser. I am a JD and a hood. I blacken the name of our fair city, I beat up people. I rob gas stations. I am a menace to society.
As soon as the last kid was thrown out, Ponyboy was shoved out the window by Johnny. Instantaneously a piercing shriek filled the air, Darry, a fellow delinquent himself, clubbed Ponyboy in the back consequently causing him to pass out, and jumped through the window and pulled Johnny
This was shown when Johnny killed Bob the Soc in order to save Ponyboy from drowning. After killing him, Johnny says, “I had to. They were drowning you, Pony. They might’ve killed you. And they had a blade… they were gonna beat me up…”
The book, “The Outsiders” by S.E. Hinton, tells about a gang made of 6 greasers. Greasers are a bunch of lower class teenagers in the city downtown. Ponyboy was the main character who belonged to a gang. At the age of 14, he was the smallest, weakest, and also the smartest in his gang. The gang consists of Dally, Sodapop, Johnny, Two-Bit, and also Darry.
