Napoleon and the pigs continued to tyrannically rule, taking all the food for themselves while they did no work to deserve it. These were dark times for Animal Farm. One fateful morning while the animals were out in the field they heard a great commotion followed by a squeal that pierced the crisp morning air. The animals rushed to see what had made the noise.

No animal shall kill another animal. All animals are equal. The pigs gained leadership of the farm because they were the cleverest.

I believe that the rest of the farm animals should have revolted

“It is not wisdom but authority that makes a low.” Thomas Hobbes’ quote reveals that the world is all about authority and how powerful people are. In other words, to be able to rule, wisdom is not essential. However, authority is crucial. This quote relates to George Orwell’s Animal Farm as it represents the theme of power by the pigs that use propaganda, intimidation and false informations to take over the farm and to control the animals.

For instance in the Life of Pi he had to kill fish in order to feed a tiger! It’s not everyday you have to do that. He had to do what he had to do in order to not get eaten by the tiger. He at least took a chance at survival while there was a chance of death by being eaten by the tiger or worse.

The Evolution of a Tyrant Power is defined as the capacity or ability to direct or influence the behavior of others. To have power is both a privilege and responsibility. This combination can often lead to egregious endings because power also has the potential to corrupt. According to John Dalberg-Acton, a politician and writer, “Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” In the book Animal Farm by George Orwell, berkshire boar Napoleon lets power consume him and eventually corrupt him.

Ignorance can be a curse or a bliss, depending on the situation at hand. In the farm animals’ case, ignorance ultimately leads to a curse, parallel to the peasants in Russia during the time of Stalin’s influence. Simply used as pawns and tossed to the side for the grasp of power, the animals of the farm, and the peasants in Russia were edging towards checkmate. The animals were deprived of proper education, and only obtained basic knowledge.

Squealer, the propaganda agent uses propaganda in the story as a way to manipulate the animals who are not pigs.

The goal of creating a successful society is very difficult to accomplish due to the amount of criteria a society must meet to become successful. Imagine a community with no hate, no war, and no famine. A place where everyone is accepted and everything is better than imaginable. This idea of perfection is known as a utopia, an ideal society. A utopia is known as a successful, perfect society. A place where everything goes right for everyone that lives there.
