The United States experienced unparalleled growth during the period of time following the Civil War, known as the Gilded Age, with city expansion supported by new and growing industries, railroad expansion, technological inventions, GNP increases, skyscrapers being built, and more. While many view the industrialists of the Gilded Age as Captains of Industry for the way they grew America economically and lifestyles-wise, they were really Robber Barons because of the fraudulent, corrupt actions they took to hurt both their consumers and their laborers. While the Gilded Age industrialists were truly Robber Barons, the way in which they contributed to and improved America's overall lifestyle exhibited that they were also characteristic of Captains

Gilded age 1878-1889 was the age of fast growth of industry and immigrants in America history. The production of steel and iron rose radically than other time. In contrast, the Western resources increased such as silver,lumber, and gold. As well as the transportation also improved. Railroad develop and move goods from resources rich west to east.

With increasing in industrialization, the workplace had become more dangerous, and businesses refused to accept responsibility for injuries to workers. Great fortunes were amassed by the industries and millions of immigrants found hope on the idea America's opportunities. Technology began to replace the need for labor, which in turn lead farmers become more efficient in producing crops, and supplies tended to surpass demand regularly, consequently lowering prices. Therefore making the farmers struggle, and essentially making the poor man poorer and the rich man richer. The Gilded Age was a time of progress for the country.

The period from 1865 to 1900 is called the Gilded Age, not only for the monopolist Robber Barons who got very rich by developing major industries -- steel, roads, railroads, electricity, banking, etc -- but because of a fundamental change in American life. Before the Civil War, America was largely agricultural. People lived on farms or small villages & towns. In the 1870s & 1880s cities like Chicago were all the rage. .

The Gilded Age boasted a lot of great things for the United States. It created so much in such a short amount of time, but that time also brought bad things. Monopolies, factory accidents, horrible working conditions, and an ever-growing gap between the rich and the poor. These problems were handled very poorly due. This was due to nobody really caring about the poor and not eliminating trusts.

I think America industrial growth have not occurred without the industrial giants of this period because they contributed many impacts to the rise of American industry. " Gilded age" is the term used Mark Twain to describe a period of the late 19th century when the wealth and prosperity of the American people dramatically increase. Industrial giants were people who have put up huge property according industrialization wave of America (rail, mines, banks, factories ...) with the smart, resourceful and brave too time also unethical. Industry leaders include John D. Rockefeller and Andrew Carnegie in steel. Both became leaders’ charitable assets donated their money to build a modern system, including hospitals, universities, libraries and foundations.

The growth of government power commenced during the Gilded Age when farmers perceived problems formed the Populist Party that brought up the Omaha Platform, which demanded the government for certain policies. These demands in the Omaha Platform would later be answered by the government during the Progressive Era. After the Progressive Era, the Great Depression would occur forming the New Deal that could have some extension of progressive ideology and gave a massive increase of power to the government. Then Lyndon B. Johnson formed the Great Society that was like the New Deal on steroids hoping for prosperity for everyone. As you can see, from the Gilded Age, to the Progressive Era, to the New Deal, to the Great Society, and to the Great Recession,

The end of the reconstruction era gave rise to the gilded age. The gilded age was a time of economic growth. It was the second industrial revolution, urbanization, immigration and political/economic corruption. The congress and the big business were more influential than the presidency. The term ‘Gilded Age’ was termed by Mark Twain who described the wealthy who were covered in a ‘layer of gold’, a superficial layer can be peeled and reveals unpleasant things.

The Gilded Age was a time of chaos and new booming businesses. Many people were gaining wealth as well as losing it. The Gilded Age from above, showed a layer of gold, while underneath, showed chaos and dissatisfactory. Good work does not always come easy. For example, The Great Wall of China took about 20 years, and in those 20 years, more than 1 million people died.

The economic growth during the Gilded Age affected the United States in both negative and positive ways. As a positive, the growing population formed an expanding market from the east coast to the west coast. The economic growth directly affected the supply and demand for basic essentials for the needs of the country. As the population traveled west, supplies and goods that were needed also traveled west. The expansion of the railroads during the Gilded Age, in my opinion, alone was the most major change for our country.

Soon America’s small towns were transformed into large cities filled with factories. In the late 1800s, a period known as the Gilded Age came about, suggesting that America’s industrialization and urbanization had two facets. On the surface, the U.S. showcased golden success and prosperity, while the interior aspect began to unveil the unsettling realities

The Gilded Age was the time period during 1865-1900. During the Gilded Age several changes took place, such as; Industralization, Urbanization, and Westward movement. Industralization was a major part of the Gilded Age. Industralization was the shift from agricultural jobs to more factory related jobs.

The time period from when the Second Industrial Revolution was beginning, up until President McKinley’s assassination in 1901, is known as the Gilded Age. After the Civil War, many people headed out West to pursue agriculture, and many immigrants moved to urban areas to acquire jobs in industrial factories. It is in this context that farmers and industrial workers had to respond to industrialization. Two significant ways farmers and industrial workers responded to industrialization in the Gilded Age, were creating the Populist Party and the American Federation of Labor (AFL).
