How Did Harriet Tubman Contribute To Slavery

Tubman accomplished many things in her life and was successful in everything she did, her priority and passion was to help others. Harriet Tubman to this day is known for being a civil rights leader by showing her strength and courage during her lifetime. Tubman was born on a farm, into slavery, in the state of Maryland close to Pennsylvania which did not allow slavery.

Tubman is most notoriously known as an abolitionist, her activism and efforts as a conductor on the Underground Railroad would have been enough to merit putting her on the $20, but she was also a nurse, recruiter, scout and a spy for the Union Army. She was the first woman to lead an armed raid during the Civil War. Harriet Tubman did not fight for capitalism, free trade, or competitive markets. She repeatedly put herself in the line of fire to free people who were treated as currency themselves. She risked her life to ensure that enslaved black people would know they were worth more than the blood money that exchanged hands to buy and sell them.

Harriet Tubman played a key role in the underground railroad. Harriet was a slave who escaped and helped many other slaves escape using the underground railroad. Harriet was a escaped slave who not only helped with the underground railroad but also had many other accomplishments. Harriet’s involvement in the underground railroad was much more than just helping people escape. Harriet not only escaped herself but also helped many others on the way.

Harriet Tubman risked her life numerous times to save countless people from the tyranny of slavery. Harriet Tubman wanted other enslaved people to feel freedom; so even though she was free, she risked getting put back into slavery to help other people. This shows that Harriet Tubman had a very selfless and giving heart and felt that her sacrifice for the cause would make a difference to the world. Her childhood inspired her to help people.

In addition, she led an army of black Union soldiers at the Combahee River Raid that disrupted the Confederate army. Lastly, she served as a spy for the United States Government during the Civil War. She went on several perilous journeys to southern plantations despite the heavy reward sum that plantation owners eventually placed on her head. Her courage and readiness to risk her own capture allowed many to live better lives in the North. Harriet Tubman was a strong women who was known as "Moses" to the people whom she freed. Not only was Harriet once a slave she also was a nurse during the Civil War. Harriet could have resented the White man, but chose to help and support them. She is a very admirable women who over came slavery and chose to help those who needed it. On these routes, the slaves followed Harriet Tubman at night in order to escape the horrific conditions that they were living in. Harriet Tubman was an extremely successful abolitionist that helped many enslaved African- Americans escape. Not only did Tubman’s actions prove that she was an outstanding women, but the method she used to carry these slaves to freedom proved her brilliant. The leader must be able to share knowledge and ideas to transmit a sense of urgency and enthusiasm to others. If a leader can’t get a message across clearly to motivate others to act on it, then having a message doesn’t even matter.”

In Conclusion, harriet Tubman was an influential abolitionist leading many to freedom and saving lives for both slaves and soldiers. She was a slave, led slaves to freedom, was in the Underground railroad, worked in the Civil War and can be compared to Nat Turner. Harriet changed the way people saw african americans. That is very important today with not only african americans but with all races and how they are treated in society

Tubman spent 48 years taking care of injured slaves, she helped more than 288 people but, less than 400. There was less risks involved because there was no war or slavery. She enjoyed helping people who can't care from themselves. Harriet took time out of her day for 4 years for “taking care of poor people in her home.” However, “Harriet often only had six to eight people in her care.”
