Unit 4 is the preparation of treatment in which the baseline data (activity level) is gathered. This includes daily activity record and behaviour contract. A daily activity record ( hour by hour ) is used to monitor activities clients is already doing, to see the frequency of healthy and unhealthy behaviours. (Lejuez, 2001, p. 265). In this phase, the client is encouraged to create an environment, one that promotes healthy behaviours (Lejuez, 2001). Behaviour is one corner of the triangle, which affects the person and their behaviour, and vice versa. A formal behaviour contract will outline the behaviours the client wishes to engage in ( healthy behaviours ) and behaviours they aim to reduce ( unhealthy behaviours). Friends and family can

What would happen to your thoughts and system responses if the narrative changed when discussing costs and savings? For example, what is the savings metric given the hidden costs to anyone with health insurance prior to ACA? Anyone using their insurance or visiting a hospital, given hospital pass through costs due to their need to treat uninsured people, especially uninsured who waited too long to get treatment because they could not pay? What is the potential monetary savings metric given a shift to either a public or private single payer system? Why are we paying for multiple administrative structures when a single system would potentially be less expensive and more efficient?
4.6- It is accepted that practitioners in health and social care settings can be affected by the stressful nature of the work. (Godden 2012) When discussing challenging situations with supervisees we need to ensure they feel supported and have received the necessary training such as DMI and have completed their induction. Ensure they understand they have to adhere to the behaviour management programs and relevant risk assessments. If a specific incident has occurred reflect with them the effects of events and consequences and actions that occurred, using the records of incidents, A B Cs and tick charts for reference if needed. Help them to understand how they might have caused and influenced events and work out the most effective way to handle

Care Standards Act 2000 The Care Standards was established in 2000, its’ aim is to ensure that the standards of care within all institutions were not inadequate as the rules and regulations have to be adhered to. Unauthorised access is when a person is able to access the website or program, service, server or can access with other system. For example, if a person is trying to access an email which requires a password and has tried many attends on guessing the person or the username for this account that is not their account but then gain access to this account, this is therefore considered as unauthorised access as this is not their email they are accessing into but someone else’s which is then considered as hacking. Unauthorised access can also be when a person is trying to access a website in which they are not allowed of access to. For example, if a person is trying to access a website to watch films which does not allow access to but the person attempts to access that area, this would then would lead to being unauthorised as a message will appear on top of the screen which will not allow them access to he website. This can be another form of hacking.
Many people are supported in their homes by people who work along side the health and social care service such as social workers, nursers ,doctor and care givers or they may get support from their family members and friends. An elderly person may choose to stay in their own homes instead of a residential care home while seeking help and support from others, however this can lead to potential opportunities for abuse happening to the person who Is being looked after. When an individual is getting support at home by a carer, the individual being cared for is vulnerable and defenseless and therefor this makes them a target for abuse, another example is abuse by strangers, when an elderly person lives alone they are at risk of people calling at the door and then gaining access to their homes, they may steal items from them or mistreat them or cause intimidation. A person who is vulnerable and living alone are at risk of physical and sexual because there is no one there to stop this abuse from happening.
abuse: When the service user lives with the carer, it may increase the chances for abuse to occur as this situation may cause stress and resentment if the carer feels he/she cannot cope. Not properly trained staff who do not receive any supervision or support at work, as well as stressed staff who are going through personal problems, or who do not like working in the care sector, may increase the risk of an individual being abused. In addition, patients who are not mobile, are confused, suffer from dementia or are aggressive or challenging, may also present an increase for the risk of an individual being abused, since the carer
7 / D.P7: Explain how different procedures maintain health and safety in a selected health or social care setting Maintaining health and safety in health and social care is extremely important to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of all their service users as well as other individuals service providers may come in contact with in the setting. There are several procedures that help to maintain this health and safety however they can all vary between settings for example, health and safety procedures will be slightly different and more focused on certain areas in hospitals and especially in paediatric ward compared to in drop-in centres where the needs and risk to service users are slightly different. Some of the procedures used in health and social care to maintain health and safety include; infection control and prevention, safe moving and handling of equipment and individuals, food preparation and storage, storage and administration of medication and storage and disposal of hazardous substances.
However, the two mentioned ways to overcoming language barrier in the implementation of anti-discriminatory practice in health and social care, the training of staff on how to communicate better with service users for them to understand is the best. This is because the training encompasses all methods, ways and means that must be considered when communicating with people to ensure that they understand clearly what they have being told. In essence in the training they must have being taught the importance of knowing the clients individually and what is their preferred effective method, means and ways that can be used to communicate with that client.
