There are a lot of costs. They are it took a lot of time and cost a lot of money, there was a lot of mortality, and there was harsh working conditions. It took a lot of time and costed a lot of money. In document E it says, a lot of people died, they were forced to build the wall, and they were forced to move. Also while the people were building the wall, the temperature could get down to 20 or 30 below zero.

Even though the wall was easy to get through, it was still partially effective as a defense, but all of its effectiveness was lost if there were no guards on the wall (Turnbull 2007, 36). These guards were expensive, and villages had to be set up in order to support them with food and a place to live; the villages became a vital part of the Great Wall (Turnbull 2007, 11). The Great Wall also required constant maintenance or else it would crumble and fall; this required a long-term commitment and drained a lot of resources (Turnbull 2007, 10). The wall required lots of work, but it still remained ineffective.

After the conference, the Western Allies unified their German occupation zones to create West Germany. In response to this, Soviets built the Berlin Blockade, cutting off railways, highways, and waterways into West Berlin. To counteract this, the United States airlifted food and supplies to the residents, until Soviets finally realized their blockade was not achieving their goals, and tore it down in May 1949.

The Great Wall came with many losses like all of the deaths but have you ever wondered what hey went brought? President Reagan appealed to those he was speaking to first so that they knew he was with them.

Logos is an appeal to logic, or a way of persuading an audience by reason. Reagan provides details of how other countries have reached a state of freedom, at the same time have maintained a strong financial background.
