Dopamine plays a huge role in feelings of pleasure and mood regulation. It produces two hormones called epinephrine and norepinephrine. Epinephrine raises the glucose levels in the blood system. Norepinephrine is a stress hormone that increases blood pressure. These two hormones are released when the body is under extreme stress. If dopamine neurons die it can be a huge reason of depression and Parkinson 's disease.
Iron is a necessary function when being active. Iron is connected to the electron transport system. The electron transport system controls when energy is released from cells. Iron is mandatory for a healthy immune system and when producing red blood cells. When exercising red blood cells help transport O2 from the lungs to the tissues and the delivery of CO2 to the lungs. Iron transports oxygen to and from blood and muscles. The best way to get iron into your body are foods with a high iron contents and can be easily consumed by the body. Red meats are an awesome way to get iron. Carbohydrates are one of the main types of nutrients. They provide the body with glucose, which converts to energy and helps to support the body 's functions functions along with physical activities. The healthiest way to consume carbohydrates are unprocessed whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and beans. They help by giving nutrients and vitamins
What is cultural identity? I haven't heard about this concept till my tenth grade English Language Arts class. I thought about this question throughout the months. Then I asked myself what represents my cultural identity? It took awhile for me to figure it out, but it came to me, SPORTS!
The main function of food that we eat and what we drink is to supply enough energy to support functions of the body. The cells of the body break down the energy provided in the food through a system known as cellular respiration. Cellular respiration means the food is broken down by the cells to produce the energy which is in the form of ATP molecules (Adenosine Tri Phosphate). Cellular respiration is the process of changing food molecules to water, carbon dioxide and
Iron carries oxygen from our lungs through the bloodstream and releases it in the body where it’s needed. Iron is built into the enzymes that do most of the chemical heavy lifting in our bodies, where it helps us to detoxify poisons and to convert sugars into energy.” Despite being a vital mineral, too much of anything can be detrimental for the human body; therefore, introducing
According to Martini, F., Tallitsch, R., Nath, J., (2018), the ANS functions outside of our conscious awareness and makes routine adjustments in our body’s systems (Martini, Tallitsch, & Nath, 2018, p. 450). The autonomic nervous system helps maintain the homeostasis of our bodies by regulating body temperature and coordinating cardiovascular, repertory, digestive, excretory, and reproductive functions. Efferent axons innervate the visceral organs and the efferent nerve fibers and ganglia of the ANS organize in two systems or divisions. The sympathetic division and the parasympathetic division. The sympathetic division is most active during times of stress, exertion, or emergency, also known as “flight or fight”.
Rough Draft Cross country is probably the simplest sport anyone will ever play. All they need is a pair of sneakers and a water bottle. The team runs together, but also as individuals. Cross country is great because even though it is hard, it will help make runners stronger and better at other sports they play.

Symptoms of Low Iron during Pregnancy Iron is the most important element of hemoglobin, which is the protein in our Red Blood Cells and carries oxygen to our body’s tissues. Iron is present in each cell of the human body. It boosts the immune system of the body and so is a very crucial for fighting against infections and diseases. It helps to produce WBCs and aids in producing energy.
Eating power foods that supplement your nutrient intake might not always be the best way to achieve a healthy lifestyle. I am convinced that the best food to consume is the one made at home from raw non-processed food items. Like Pollan said at the begging of his article, “Eat food. Not too much.
Prior research has determined, according to Yelverton, that athletes are at an increased chance to burnout if they are participating in a sport for reasons other than sport attraction. In other words, if athletes are pushed to achieve at a high level in activities they present no interest in, burnouts to those individuals seem to increase by chance. The well known theory, and common definition proposed by numerous doctors to help describe stressors athletes face, is in fact, known as a “burnout,” or “a response by an athlete to chronic stress in which he or she ceases to participate in a previously enjoyable activity, withdrawing from the sport because they perceive it is not possible to meet the physical and psychological demands of the sport” (Lindsey Barton Straus, JD 1). Research has provided critical information on the stresses athletes endure on a daily basis. If an athlete is in a stressful situation, subsequently, their athletic performance will become affected (Mackenzie 3).
Picture this every athlete in sports using drugs no one depends on skill anymore everyone depends on performance enhancing drugs like adrenaline and steroids. Many athletes today use drugs to enhance their skills in all sports. This is a problem because some athletes use their own skills and are getting beaten by athletes who use drugs. Performance enhancement drugs create an unfair advantage over those athletes who choose to rely on their own skill. Banning drugs in sports can make a difference in the athlete 's health Drugs like steroids could decrease the user 's lifespan Performance enhancers, like steroids and other forms of doping have a negative effect on long term health ¨Gary Becker, PhD Professor in the Departments
Athletes use of performance enhancing drugs has become all too common in today’s society. With many athletes testing positive for doping, sports are becoming tarnished with athletes trying to gain an unfair advantage on their competitors. Although players are tested often for such drugs, there are still many loopholes and some drugs are not detected by current systems. So what would cause an athlete to put their body at risk to gain just a slight edge on their competitor? Sports should be a test of real skill, not artificial skills given by doctors.

The endocrine system is such an important system to the body because it functions the bodies use of hormones. The body uses many different hormones and the endocrine system regulates these. When the glands of the endocrine system secrete the hormones, the hormones are put into the bloodstream to be sent to the different parts of the body. The glands that comprise the endocrine system are the hypothalamus, the pituitary gland, and the pineal gland which are all located in the brain, the thyroid, parathyroid, and thymus which are located in the throat, the adrenals and pancreas which are located in the body’s midsection, and the ovaries (female) and testes (male) which are located in the pelvic region. The system is so important because it regulates the body’s metabolism, growth and sexual development, digestion, heart rate, and many of the other body functions regulated by hormones.
