THE IMPACT OF HURRICANE IRMA ON THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA INCLUDING THE US VIRGIN ISLANDS
Hurricane is one of the most damaging natural disaster. They are terrifying to the occupants in its part as well as on the economy. The United States including its territories are vulnerable to hurricane damage, because one-third of its gross domestic product is from states along the Gulf and Atlantic Coastline (US Economy).
Hurricane Irma with such magnitude of a category 5 hurricane creates a vast effect on the economy of

Florida economy depends on a range of industries, including tourism, ports, business services and health care, now they all magnify the impact of hurricane Irma.
Hurricane Irma has not only devastated thousands of lives and destroyed billions of dollars of property worth in Florida but it has also created long term damage on the economy and on the people on a whole. It is said that Irma caused between $5 billion and $9 million in commercial and industrial real estate damage.
As was told by Economist Diane Swonk of DS Economic, hurricane Irma could slow the overall U.S. Economic growth to a 1.8 percent and this is in comparison of a 2.8 projection before the storm. Unemployment is now tracking near or below the average national level. The loss of lives, property damages, homelessness and evacuations, hike in gas prices, increase unemployment and lower production are some of the direct impact that can result from hurricane Irma. I believe that the year 2017 would be recorded and remained as one of the most catastrophic disaster the United States has ever

“It’s a do or die”.
According to Fox news report, the extent of the damage to Florida and US Virgin Islands from hurricane Irma remains unclear because estimate on these US State/islands are still ongoing and could head into hundreds of millions to billions of dollars.
Many insurance companies can easily go bankrupt as a result of the impact of Irma, one can only imagine the huge amounts that are being paid out to persons who would have lost their worldly possessions and to beneficiaries who have lost loved ones; as such, home owners will see a hike in premium payments going forward. Ironically, this hike in premium payments will not be limited to the affected state and territories, but in all countries/islands where such companies have branches.
As noted earlier, tourism is one of the biggest business in Florida and the US Virgin islands, and with most of its tourist attraction destroyed, it leaves the state and territories still shaky about the future of their economy.
Hurricane Irma have not only impacted the economy but more so the residents who are still trying to come to grip being a survivor of this catastrophic
One way the Galveston Hurricane affected the economy of Galveston was through widespread destruction of infrastructure and property, resulting in significant economic losses for Galveston and the
The author’s goal was to show this disaster as a larger picture, rather than smaller, individual issues. The zoomed out map from space shows the overall view of the intensity of this disaster giving depth and urgency to the situation. However, there is one hurricane in this cartoon located at the top of the United States. Years ago, when Hurricane Carla hit Texas, the great lakes had a significant effect
However, it particularly damaged New Orleans, due to its poor infrastructure and unfortunate geographical location. However, the main complication that had a negative influence on the effects of hurricane Katrina was the poor response of the government. The hurricane has been the cause for many economical, environmental and political problems and is affecting the city up until today.
It was 6:10 in the morning August 28 2005 and New Orleans had just been struck. Homes were being demolished, people were screaming, innocent people were getting killed from the result of the storm surge. . To this day there are 705 people still missing. While people are living there normal lives, they have not yet to know that in the middle of the Atlantic warm air is rising and it is getting replaced by the cooler air. the Not to forget, the hurricane affected their economy because of $81 billion dollars of property damage.
In todays day and age the world runs on money which includes Florida, we need money for everything we need money to survive. In Florida, the Everglades is like out great wall its what we are known for and what help us when we are having money problems. As I said before the Everglades provides us with water, water that flows to the cities. Water is like money its something u can't live without. The human body needs water to function in one way or another you need to get water in you or your body will slowly shut down.
Hurricanes can be powerful storms that form over ocean water in the tropics. Hurricane Sandy occurred in 2012 along the east coast along the United States. Hurricanes cause wide havoc to many coastal cities and inland cities and are very dangerous. First, there are many causes of hurricanes. Hurricanes are a storm with violent wind in particular a tropical cyclone in the tropics.
The reaction to Hurricane Katrina to me is shockingly similar to events that have happened both in the past and today in New Orleans. In the weeks after Katrina, the people of New Orleans were devastated by the death of family members, and the loss of their businesses, but eventually they began to rebuild the city just like they did after Hurricane Betsy. Since the construction of the levees
Hurricane Andrew was the fifth most destructive hurricane in the US. Hurricane Andrew is the most powerful hurricanes that occurred in Florida. Power lines were pulled from the ground. People were evacuated from their homes. In all, 65 people died from Hurricane Andrew.
Uncertainty is what is left because it’s a long process of rebuilding, not only that but to see what used to be home now is gone and have to start from zero. After, the impact there is many rescues done as well as evacuations, the flooding caused massive destructions (“Federal report shows punch of last year 's Hurricane Harvey”, 2018). Another Hurricane that impacted U.S. was Hurricane Katrina which hit August 23, 2005 – August 31, 2005. The destruction was largely
Natural disasters, especially hurricanes, can have huge effects on cities and their citizens. On September 8, 1900, a horrible disaster struck Galveston, Texas. This was very unexpected for them and caused great damage. The Great Hurricane of the 1900s affected the area it hit socially, politically, and economically.

Hurricane don’t normally hit the Northeast coast and that is why the hurricane of 1938 was a big surprise and not a good one. Just imagine it 's a beautiful day outside and you have plans to go to the beach with your friends or just play outside and then a disastrous hurricane hits. The people that live there have never seen a hurricane and were definitely not prepared for this one. There was weather conditions, impacts, and many other conditions that people weren 't ready for. One thing they didn 't expect was the destructive weather conditions that the hurricane brang.
Overview of the Risk Issue: Hurricane Katrina was the largest natural disaster in the United States living memory, affecting 92, 000 square miles, and destroying the majority of New Orleans. Over 1,800 people died and tens of thousands were left homeless and without basic necessities. Katrina evolved into a series of connected crises, with two basic causes. The primary cause was the hurricane itself, and no less damaging, the collapse of man-made levees meant to protect a city built below sea-level.
Approximately 135 billion dollars was needed after the total damages. According to the article called ‘’HURRICANE KATRINA’’ ‘’In all, Hurricane Katrina killed nearly 2,000 people and affected some 90,000 square miles of the United States. ‘’(author unknown). Around 70% (134,000) of all housing units that were occupied had damage done to them. The population of New Orleans dropped to almost half of the people.
In these day, hurricane is the one of the most terrifying disaster that occur on many countries in this world, it can cause damage and harmful to people. Hurricane is a huge storm that form above the ocean then move to the land and we call it “hurricane” when the wind speeds reach up to 74 mph. However, these storm are call in different names depends on the location that they occur. For example, we call it “typhoon” in Pacific Ocean, “cyclone” in Indian Ocean, etc. In these essay, we will point on the two-main cause and two-main negative effect of the hurricane and some idea of the basic preparation.
