Impact Of Imperialism On India

The French failed to defeat England during the Seven Years War despite the many battles that they have won leading up to this event. They have fought four times prior to this war and four times they were successful. With the power to gain control of the new world both the New France and British Colonies were on the move to claim land. New France began their expansion south while the British Colonies began their expansion west. It was only a matter of time for them to meet which they did on July 3, 1754.

The French were looking to expand their land at a place called the Ohio River Valley, so they would have more land for their people. The French threatened to take the land the British had already claimed. Numerous battles broke out between them, which lead to a war. William Pitt, the new British leader, managed to get more colonies to fight for the British. Britain's power grew significantly in numbers of soldiers, thus making the British a rising empire.

At the end of the French and Indian war, King George could not take such utter disrespect. The British started to put in new laws and boundaries in place that ultimately would hurt every party that was involved with them. The British had lost a tremendous amount money as well as the French did paying off the money to wartime debt. Lots of Indians lost their lives and had the land taken away from them. The American colonist are the only ones out of the seven year war to come out somewhat unscaled.

Even though, the French and the British came to North America in order to get power (Imperialism) their got opposites views and/or ways on how to get it. The British came seeking land because they thought that North America has a great vacant wilderness where the native American were frequently seen as wild savages. The French wanted to exploit North America’s riches through trade. So, the English and French were competing for trading rights and lands in North America. This conflict and/or manifestation of same forces and pressures that exploded in The Seven Years’ war which was about imperialism, In North America was known as the French and Indian War.

The French and Indian war was between Britain and France over land acquisition in North America. Britain came out the victor which meant an expansion of the empire but also a massive amount of debt.
