The role of religion and spirituality is changing over time within adolescents in our society. In regards to religion there has been many changes in church attendance and formal practice of religion in our lives (Religion in Numbers, 2015). Religion has also changed over time and this has been dictated by the way we approach religion. Religion has changed, for example, by the way some religiously associated people allow for the recognition and rights of same-sex marriage (reference - http://www.religioustolerance.org/denomchg1.htm). On average however, 37.5% of respondents who attend a catholic school do not follow any religion. This already establishes that religion does not have a great impact on their education or daily life. This could also clarify that it was their parents decision to attend this school to follow the catholic belief system. Also, it was seen that on a scale of 1-10, 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest, spirituality; 5, has a much greater impact in the lives of catholic students in comparison to religion; 4. This provides evidence that students prioritise spirituality over religion. In addition to this statement, 90% of respondents believe that you can be religious without being spiritual and vice versa. Given this information, it would be appropriate to conclude that finding a meaning in life, that is becoming successful, whether that 'd be in education, is more significant to them than religion. Furthermore, it has been established that spirituality has a greater role to the adolescents in comparison to religion. It was also noted that only 50% of respondents indicated that religion impacted their life. This lack of religious influence on their lives could be attributed to the fact that they unwillingly attend a catholic school. As quoted from this website, "young people indicated that they placed a high value on close relationships with friends and family, and on having an exciting and enjoyable life. They also wanted a peaceful, cooperative, just and secure world. Religious or spiritual concerns were generally not considered important." Therefore, given the vast array of morals and values that young people endure today, religion and spirituality has been unnecessary in their childhood
