The fact that someone could commit such terrible acts without any apparent remorse is deeply disturbing. While we may never fully understand what led Dahmer down this path, it is important to remember his victims and the pain that he caused. Jeffrey Dahmer, also known as the Milwaukee Cannibal, was one of the most notorious serial killers in American history. Steven Hicks was a 19 year old last seen hitchhiking to a rock concert in Chippewa Lake Park when he was brutally murdered. The suspect was later found that he brought Hicks to his home, where he got him drunk, and upon Hicks trying to escape was when he was hit among the head with a ten pound dumbbell. Further investigation found that Hicks’ body was dismembered, having his bones crushed by a sledgehammer and scattered outside the house; also he left the flesh to be found by police underneath the house three years after the murder. This suspect would be later revealed as Jeffrey Dahmer. Jeffrey Dahmer was an American serial killer who committed rape, murder, torture, and the dismemberment of 17 innocent boys between 1978 and 1991.

Tourmi was reported missing. 14 year old James Doxtator was the next unlucky victim of Dahmer. He met him at a club and asked him to follow him back to his grandmother’s to earn some money posing nude and drinking with him. He agreed and the two fondled, got drunk, and Doxtator passed out. Dahmer had put sleeping pills in his drink and then once passed out, had strangled the young boy.

Edwards eventually escaped Dahmer and led the police to Dahmer’s apartment where the pictures of the mangled bodies and several severed body parts were found in the refrigerator. On January 30th 1992, Dahmer pled not guilty by reason of insanity. Dahmer was found sane and guilty of 15 counts of murder and sentenced to 15 life terms, which totaled 957 years in prison. Dahmer was attacked twice while in prison the first attack being in July 1994, where an inmate attempted to slash his throat with a razor blade.

Jeffrey’s childhood wasn’t great, and to some it was believed it influenced his adult life. His family moved to Ohio when Jeffery was six years old. Jeffery claimed that one of his neighbors molested him when he was just eight years old. Not to long after their move to Ohio, Jeffery’s parents got a divorce.

After picking up hitchhiker Steven Hicks, Dahmer lured the youth into his home and bludgeoned him with a dumbell (Mendoza 1). Unfortunately, this killing was the first of many. After a brief stint moving to San Antonio, Jeff was forced to move in to his grandmother’s house back in Milwaukee where the murders continued. Dahmer had developed a masterful technique for murder, where he would pick up a partner at local gay bars, bring them back to his grandmother’s apartment, and then proceed to assault and murder his victims, often in sexually perverse ways. One of the survivors of these attacks, recalls that he saw a mattress stained with dried blood and a knife with a blue plastic handle, which immediately let him know that something was wrong (Mathews and Stevens, 44).

In the following morning Dahmer woke up next to the dead corpse of Steven in bed. Dahmer packed him up in a suitcase and took him to his grandmother’s basement where he would have sexual relations with the corpse before dismembering it. He would dispose of the remains in the trash. After Dahmer’s second kill he would run into a killing spree that lasted 13 years. While in the killing spree it seemed as if he was targeting African American men that he would meet at gay meeting places.

When they got to his home, they found a disturbing site. There were pictures of his victims after they killed and raped. They even found body parts scattered in Jeff’s room. His trail started on January 30,1992. When it first started he plead insanity and non guilty, but later on the judge found him sane and guilty.

The police believed him and let Sinthasomphone die. If they would’ve done a background check they would’ve seen that Dahmer was on probation for sexually assaulting Sinthasomphone's brother in 1988. Glenda day after day called the police trying to find out what they did about the incident, along with complaining of the noises/smells coming from Dahmer’s apartment. The trial began in January of 1992 with an eight-foot wall of bulletproof glass around where Dahmer would be sitting to reduce the risk of him getting shot(pink 10). He was charged with fifteen counts of murder(green 61). Since he had already confessed his murders to the police, he pleaded guilty but insane. They claimed the cause of his killings was a result of his fear of being alone. This in effect, directly lead him to have sexual relations with the bodies(blue 97).

On July 22nd, 1991 Milwaukee, Wisconsin and the United States changed forever. Jeffrey Dahmer was arrested for killing and eating 17 young men [#1]. Jeffery’s confessions will make people understand why he is known as one of the most terrifying serial killers in the United States. People know of Jeffery Dahmer and have heard his name but haven't researched his background story. Personally being interested in murder mystery shows I thought this would be a perfect topic for me Tracing back his childhood makes you realize from the beginning signs of a serial killer like himself. Even the other prisoners with him in jail said he was creepy.

there was a awful smell coming from his apartment. He had invited a police officer into his house to have a drink, the officer smelled something grossed later they came back and put him into custody. The officers had gone through boxes to find disturbing things in there such as: human heads and three bags of organs, chemicals skulls, painted skulls, skeleton, dried scalp, tools various videos blood soaked mattress and blood splatters and a King James Bible and they went through box after box collecting evidence. Jeffrey Dahmer was only charged with fifteen murders. He pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.
