There are reasons for mass execution, but there will never be enough reasons to give the victims their lives back. On May 21, 1960, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Joyce and Lionel Dahmer gave birth to a boy that they named Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer. Jeffrey Dahmer’s years of youth were not at its greatest. He was an alive soul until the age of 4 when he had to undergo surgery to rectify a double hernia. After surgery, he had a change in his attitude, behavior, and just the way he was. This change was also largely affected by the birth of his baby brother. Dahmer became antisocial and barely had friends. Starting at age 12, he gained interest in dead animals. He would collect road-kill and keep them in bags, according to the interview on Larry King Live with his father and stepmother in 2004. During Jeff’s early teenage years, he began to drink alcohol which then turned into a very bad addiction. His drinking problem was very apparent to classmates and friends at school. After graduation, Dahmer’s parents’ toxic marriage was finally terminated. The splitting up of his parents broke him apart and played a major role in his murderous misdeeds. As Jeffrey was left all alone after his parents’ …show more content…
After doing my research, I believe they may have a real reason for it, but they have no right reason to. Killing people, or even just one person, is wrong and unacceptable. What Jeffrey Dahmer did was plain disgusting. Despite how disgusting it is, there has to be a reason to take the lives of innocent human beings. Now there are cases where people do it for fun, but there are also cases where they did it for a specific reason or want to prove something to somebody that hurt them. In my opinion, serial killers aren’t in any way normal, so I feel like we need to watch the signs of these types of people and get them the help they need before it’s too late. Once it’s too late, there’s no taking back what they did. The victims’ families have to suffer because of one person’s actions, and that is why it isn’t at all
He once put his dog’s head on a stake. When he was in high school he was an outcast because of his impersonations of his mother’s interior decorator. By the time of his graduation, Dahmer was an alcoholic. While in college, Dahmer attended Ohio University, but dropped out after a quarter of his term. He was failing most of his classes due to being drunk for most of the time.
Jeff enjoyed his weekly treat at the soda shop and roaming the fields near home with his dog Frisky (Chin, 38). However, by the time he was six, young Dahmer changed in to a shy, sullen child (Chin, 38). As Dahmer entered his high school years, he developed a heavy drinking habit, to the point where one schoolmate described Jeff as constantly smelling of whiskey. Along with his addiction to the bottle, Jeff stated that he had developed “obsessive thoughts of violence intermingled with sex
Although the killer admits to having developed these thoughts prior to the divorce of his parents, it is said that those events post likely triggered him to act on his thoughts. Dahmer was definitely a disturbed young man: Dahmer's killing spree lasted for more than 13 years. During that time he sought out mostly African American men at gay meeting places, lured
Around the time of his first murder, Dahmer’s drinking became excessive resulting in him dropping out after one semester at Ohio State University. Soon after his father urged him to join the military. Dahmer enlisted in late December of 1978 and was placed in Germany, the killing stagnated but the drinking persisted, in 1981 the Army discharged Dahmer do to his uncontrollable drinking (Biography). Dahmer spent the six years following living with his grandmother in West Allis, Wisconsin where he continued drinking heavily causing often run ins with the police
The name Jeffrey Dahmer flooded the minds of the nation with trepidation and terror. He was a man that could not be understood by society. Dahmer was a heartless, psychotic murderer who took the lives of innocent people. No one knew when he would strike again, but when he did it would be inhumane and ruthless. He is one of the most prolific, yet disturbing criminals in history.
(WH, 2011) Without others to turn to, Jeffrey turned to drinking when he was fourteen. Around this time, he discovered homosexual urges and was confused. He wanted to change his sexuality and to be accepted but was unable and this added to his increasing frustration to everyone in his life, mostly himself. (Silva, 2002)
Born on May 21, 1960, Jeffrey Dahmer was an American sex offender, cannibal and commonly known as a serial killer. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin by Joyce Dahmer and Lionel. According to sources, Jeffrey was a happy and energetic child until he was 4 years when he underwent a surgery that aimed at correcting a double hernia, which affect him afterwards (McEvoy C., (2023). Noticeably different, Jeffrey started becoming more withdrawn following his family frequently movements and the birth of his younger brother. As he grew up he became more disengaged, showed no interest in social interaction and was unfriendly.
Since Jeffrey is prone to boredom he acted in a way that would overall excite him which most see as morally wrong. Conning/manipulation is consistently shown through his murders. He lured his victims away from the public's eye through manipulating them. Psychopathy usually looks for consistency across each criminal act in the way they act or react to situations. Throughout Dahmer’s criminal behaviors we can clearly see that he consistently manipulated all 17 of his male victims.
Jeffrey Dahmer’s behaviors were “primary unconscious feelings of hate that he had channeled into a sadistic programmed destruction of 17 young men” (Jentzen et al. 2). Jeffrey Dahmer's neglected childhood featuring abuse, loneliness and lack of quality interactions with his parents led him to becoming a murderer/sociopath which is shown thorough the social learning theory and social control theory. Dahmer’s story is interesting because once he was arrested, he explained how he was glad to finally be caught. Dahmer’s murders were out of compulsion, as a young boy he used to walk around the woods looking for dead animals that he would dissect, he was really interested in seeing what was inside of them. “Although he was rarely interested in anything,
Fantasies of killing another man and dismembering them which excited him but he never spoke of. “ I think it was around age 14 or 15, I started to have obsessive thoughts of violence, intermingled with sex and it just got worse and worse, I didn’t know how to tell anyone about it, so I didn’t, I just kept it all inside.” Jeffery Dahmer says in interview ( Jeffrey Dahmer - Serial killer documentary - minute 6:00 - Published on Jan 15, 2017 ). His fantasies started getting worse and worse when his fantasies crossed the line after fantasizing lying next to an unconscious man he started to think about actions, and thats when he started to make a plan. “He would knock out a local jogger with a bat and lie next to him” ( Jeffrey Dahmer - Serial killer documentary - minute 6:34 - Published on Jan 15, 2017) when trying his plan the jogger never came by and he never attempted the plan
Jeffery Dahmer also known as the Milwaukee cannibal was a notorious sex offender in America. He was charged for rape and murder of 17 young boys. Dahmer would also eat the parts of the young boys after he had killed them. What lead Dahmer to turn out like this? There are a several different theories that would fit in.
Jeffrey Dahmer was born on May 21st, 1960 in West Allis, Wisconsin. He was a relatively normal kid until his little brother David was born. His mother and father moved them to Bath Ohio where Dahmer then grew very withdrawn and secluded during the ages of 10-15. He grew a great interest in dead animals which he took home and dissected (“Crime Museum”). After his parents divorce, Jeffrey
