Emma Daly is an athletic, funny, and extraordinary person. She comes from a big culture, and is half Norwegian. When Emma was little she use to speak fluent Norwegian but as she grew older she lost touch with the language. In her free time, she likes to play soccer, she has been playing since she was 8, and currently plays on Eastern 's women’s team. Soccer and other sports like track and field have lead to numerous injuries including, a broken wrist, torn ligaments in her ankle, and she 's broken her nose twice.

Down syndrome is a condition which extra genetic material slows down the way in which an individual develops, both physically and mentally. As stated by the NHS; each individual with down syndrome is affected differently and can vary, some may need a lot of medical assistance whereas others may lead a normal healthy lifestyle but share similar characteristics. Delayed development: All service users with down syndrome has some degree of learning difficulty and delayed development, however, this varies between each individual. Having down syndrome they may experience some health problems which may effect them in every day life. However yet again each individual is different some may have more health problems than others.

In mental health there are a lot of different roles of different agencies and professionals within the assessments, both of these are for the protection of the service user and service provisions these include mental health services which are set up and run by the NHS organisations as well as some voluntary sectors there are also private companies which are paid for by or commissioned by the NHS. A local GP should be able to recognise a service users symptoms and diagnose the service users symptoms of mental health or psychosis then they should refer the service user to an intervention service were they will then be assessed. These assessments will then be carried out on the service user, which will then provide them with the right services

There are several procedures that help to maintain this health and safety however they can all vary between settings for example, health and safety procedures will be slightly different and more focused on certain areas in hospitals and especially in paediatric ward compared to in drop-in centres where the needs and risk to service users are slightly different. She tried out for the Duke football team in 1994 as a walk-on. Since she was unable to make the football team, she ended up helping the team in a position of manager. The Head Coach at the time was Fred Goldsmith and he gave permission to Heather to participate in practices and work out with the other fellow kickers on the team. She also was allowed to participate in the winter and spring conditioning programs, as a manager you should not be allowed to do that. Mercer was asked to participate in the intra-squad scrimmage in April by fellow seniors. During the scrimmage Mercer won the game for her team by kicking a field goal.
