Walking through the doctor 's office doors. I thought we came for just a normal checkup, but that 's where I was wrong. As my mother and grandma were filling out papers, I was asked how to spell something. I went to glance at the folder and I seen this sentence, “checking to see if tumor has grew.” I just read a sentence telling me my grandma is diagnosed with cancer. I felt like I couldn 't speak or think. I felt like my heart sunk to my stomach and I felt tears sliding down my cheeks. Right there, I wished there was something I could do. Why was this happening to my grandma? I felt helpless. But, I couldn 't imagine how afraid my grandma must have felt. That day, I knew that for my future job, I wanted to help cure people. I believe Madonna University would be the perfect fit for my college choice. I have seen the college due to my older sister graduating there with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing which I plan on doing as well. Multiple organizations I would like to join are Madonna University Nursing Student Association (MUSNA) ,Early Childhood Club or Hispanic/Latino Heritage Club. At Crestwood High School, I play first base for the varsity softball team and would love to play for Madonna 's softball team.
I would like to go to Madonna University because their graduate student’s achieve Christian humanistic values in their students, intellectual inquiry, respect for diversity, and commitment to serving others through a liberal arts education. I would also like to help Madonna University mission by showing my communication skills and helping others throughout their career and choosing what they are willing to do. The Nursing Program includes online classes, hands-on labs, and actual practice in health care settings. I am an individual who likes to be able to use kinesthetic learning while I learn, because I feel like it helps me concentrate easier. I have worked in a restaurant as a bus girl which helped me learn responsibility because I was making money for myself. I also help babysit my nephew and niece and family friends children which helps me prepare for Nursing; due to going into a field working with
Nevertheless, I was optimistic and able to find the positive in my circumstances. The pain and fear I've faced throughout the years have inspired me to major in health in my undergraduate studies to later pursue a career in optometry. I want to attain a career in a profession where I can meaningfully contribute to individuals who have been impacted by the lack of health, especially the loss of eyesight. I don't want to see any human suffer through the same pain as my grandmother did. Being a caretaker for a disabled person was an eye opening experience.
My contribution to the mission of Nurse Corps Scholarship Program will not be limited to the help in which is needed. It has always been my desire to help others. Working in the medical field now as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant, and as a Direct Care worker for the mentally disabled has trained me to face many different challenges with the correct approach. Also as a Licensed Evangelist Missionary, in my Christian belief, I have had the opportunity to work in the communities helping others in the time of need. With all that I have seen and learned through my work experience and through the church, I will be able to contribute the love, the nurturing, and the comforting of the individual in need while providing the care
I was in the hospital. It was June 12, 2017 at Genisys Hospital. My grandma was dead lying in the hospital bed. I was crying for hours and hours. I could not sleep thinking my grandma was dead.
*ATTENTION – GETTER : Imagine you are a small child lying on the dirt road of Calcutta, India. You are severely dehydrated because no one you ask will offer you some of their water. You are weak because you have not eaten for days. You are painfully coughing from your tuberculosis.
In the early hours of August 5, 1962, movie star Marilyn Monroe was reported dead in her home in Los Angeles, California. She had been found lying face down in her bed, naked and with her hands by her side. Around midnight, her housekeeper Eunice Murray (had seen/had heard/had become aware of) that Marilyn's bedroom light was on. She knocked on the door a few times, but Marilyn didn't answer.
The MSN in education will help me grow professionally so I can have that career that will help carry me into the later years of my life. The MSN in education will help me grow professionally and also help me help others with my experiences in nursing and also help students develop the drive
I am driven and determined to have a career in nursing by becoming a student at NYU College of Nursing. My main source of inspiration to become a nurse comes from a deep desire to help people. Nurses have the ability to see people at their worst, while helping them become their best. This is the most rewarding experience and an experience that I want to obtain. Being a trilingual nursing student, I would love to use the skills I acquired in nursing to help the immigration population of NYC and translate for patients with language
My Intent to Be a Nurse Practitioner Coming from a third world country where there aren’t many opportunities for work and funding for education, proceding to nursing school was a grand opportunity. The privilege to attend a government subsidized school where top students in the region compete to get into the program that allowed only 60 students per year was indeed a blessing. As clinical rotations began, what was once considered a mere opportunity evolved into a true passion for caring as I truly love and enjoy nursing and helping people.
I have decided to pursue nursing and apply for the second degree accelerated nursing program; I consider myself a highly motivated individual with a value of strong work ethic. I can certainly distinguish myself as a person with numerous interests, a range of skills and goals. My Goals are to become a highly skilled nurse, work for the united state military and help save lives. Just like my father, I would love to provide a great humanitarian service, not for the pay or the glory or the recognition but to save lives, give hope, provide care, love and touch
I was not born into the world to do everything, but I was born into the world with great intentions; intentions to make a difference, to be an outstanding leader, ambassador, and advocate to serve and give back to the society. Ever since I have known myself, I have always wanted to become a nurse. A hardship that has made me stronger is, after my first semester in the pre-nursing
I am interested in Howard University because it is an HBCU that encompass the themes of cultural diversity and education. Your commitment to scholars ensures me that at your school I will be right at home. Since I intend on on going down a medical path, I know that Howard University will provide me with best resources to follow my dreams. As a child I was always interested in the worlds around me and how things worked. As a result I participated in a Summer Enrichment Program located at Indiana University in Bloomington.
“The truth is, I’ve never fooled anyone. I’ve let them fool themselves, because they didn't bother to find out who I really or what i really was.” Quoted by famous singer, dancer, actress, and model Marilyn Monroe. Born as Norma Jeane Mortenson, she had a very rough childhood. Her mother almost smothered her to death at two, at age six she was nearly raped going in and out of foster homes, because her mother was hospitalized with paranoid schizophrenic.
She was very upset like she was going to cry, but was angry at the same time. She was shocked when my grandfather didn’t let her or even talked to anyone and just said, “ Everything will be fine. It's not like you are going to die from it. Just try to ignore them.” He says in an aggressive voice.
Then she had replied with “ hurry up and eat your breakfast we have to take you to your last appointment ”. I remembered that i had therapy but i didn't want to go i just want to forget about what had happened. I deeply sighed and ate then went upstairs and changed. Then when i had finished i walked downstairs when i had seen my sister on the phone , she was sad and stressed then i
If you have ever been tasked to write and present a Eulogy for a loved one you know, it can be overwhelming. I wrote both of my grandparent’s Eulogies within a four months period. It has been one of the worst years if not the worse year of my life. I experienced all seven human emotions, but the one I can't seem to break away from is anger.
