Staying Sane For countless years, health has been a key factor in people’s everyday lives. We desire to know what and how to look thin, to stay healthy, and to not be overweight. What do people do? We spend hours looking up how to look thin, how to lose weight quickly, and look our best. That is not the most efficient way to do it. An excellent way to do it is how I define it. I define health as not overconsuming food, staying active, and being physically and mentally content with the body a person has. Being healthy mentally is so important in everyone’s personal life. Social Anxiety Disorder is a disorder that causes people to be unhealthy. This Anxiety disorder causes depression and stress in daily lives. Social Anxiety Disorder is defined as a fear of social and functional situations. (Taheri 1). According to Taheri, this causes people to think negatively about participating in these social and function situations. (1). People do not want to go to these social and functional situations because each mind thinks of the worst that could happen to them. When treating Social Anxiety Disorder, different treatments are available. One of the treatments used is cognitive treatment. Cognitive treatment for adults and children who have depression and people who have both depression and anxiety and it has positive effects. According to Taheri, this treatment also makes people want more contact with our surroundings, and it can strengthen attitude, thoughts, and quality of life. (1). It also happens in schools. Schools are serving fat and greasy foods, and it is clogging the schools up. (Fed Up). In Fed Up, the video showed these children picking up slices of pizzas, French fries and other greasy foods. The government is making more schools have healthier menus and limiting the portions of food children are receiving. Even though these children are receiving healthier foods, it does not mean children are attaining a full meal. Our private lives do not belong to the government. (Fed Up). The government should not be deciding what we eat, parents should be. (Fed Up). Children should start limiting the fatty foods that are given and start eating healthier foods. Another enormous issue Americans should be complaining about, is the food children are being fed in Schools. More than one-third of American kids are obese or overweight. Nutrient-rich food are essential to mental and physical health. If our children are the most important investment for our futures, how we expect them to perform at their best with inadequate meals.
Also, they believe that they should stick to the menu that they have now because the school would be better off making more money on the regular lunch menu, other than than healthier lunch menu that they want to give us. However, students need to be more healthier and stop stuffing their faces with junk food that is not good for them and that is causing severe health conditions. The lunch menu consists of: Blue Raspberry slushies, Hot cheetos, Chicken patties, nice big juicy Hamburgers, Fried chicken, greasy French fries, Grape and Orange sodas, etc. The lunch menu we have is not very healthy at all. The lunch menu that we need to consist of: Mixed Salad, Orange juice, Apple juices, Fruits, Baked chicken, more vegetables ,and sell less snakcs.
Daniel Weintraub is the author of an article named, “ The Battle against fast food begins in the home.” In the article , he argues that the blame for children’s obese problem should go to the parents. The parents are the only ones in position to solve the problem. Giving blame to others for something you’re not responsible for is not right. One argument that Weintraub gives is that it is the fault of the parents who allow their kids to eat all the junk food they want.
Others refer to kid obesity rates, which have tripled in the U.S. during the 1970s, as stated in the subheading "Keeping it Healthy." Additionally, "one in five American children between the ages of 12 and 19 is dangerously overweight. " The children's health suffers greatly as a result of these school lunches. I disagree with the other side because, although it may result in issues, I think that preparing lunches for students in the cafeteria is somewhat unhealthy.

More specifically, it reveals the affect sugar has on people’s bodies. As a result, the amount of sugar in food, the bodies consent of glucose, and the satisfying taste it brings, too much sugar could cause certain sicknesses causing the body to not work the way it supposed to. Health has to do with a person’s overall condition, regarding any acute or chronic illnesses or injuries. Health has to do with having a positive emotional outlook on life. Health also includes a person’s nutrition, physical activity, and getting the proper sleep. When someone is in good health, this person should be able to bounce back from any minor illnesses/injuries, and they should be fully functional in society. This includes the ability to enjoy life, socializing with others, and the ability to feel safe.
