Throughout this semester, I can honestly say that my writing has improved in both style and technique. These eighteen short weeks (give or take) have shown me both positive and negative aspects of my writing capabilities. My confidence has grown and I have learned many new things. I have been given the opportunity to pick topics that I feel I could write well about and this has made essays more fun and enjoyable. MY instructor and peers have both given me accurate critiques that have only bettered my work. One of the most important things I have learned is to not procrastinate and wait until the last minute to turn something in. My syllabus was never lost nor borrowed, and yet I waited until the very last second to submit anything. This is …show more content…
I’ve actually done far better than I expected and thankfully maintained an A. I took all of the criticisms I received to heart and did my best to improve them as the semester continued. I have seen no problem with the corrections or suggestions on my returned papers. I enjoy seeing what my instructor thought of my writing on his lightning bolt sticky note comments. One of my biggest problems is still transitioning. I can never put them in the correct order, or I don’t put them at all. They sound awkwardly phrased in my head so I skip them and say I’ll go back later and include them, but I usually forget. This is something I hope to improve on in the upcoming semester. This is something my professor remarked on early on and I tried my best to remember to use transitions in all of my major papers. I would like to make my future work easier to read and have a better transitioning style. Overall, my first semester of Comp I has been great. I would say that it has gone better than expected. I’m lucky enough to attend a school that offers not only this free college class, but a face to face instructor. This course has bettered my skills and better prepared me for my future writing endeavors. Hopefully Comp II goes just as
The assigned readings and the instructions in the curriculum continue to aid me in reaching my outcomes. Interaction with the students in the discussion thread and guidance from my mentors and instructor has decreased some of the problems that may occur during the final
I struggled to get used to this writing process, especially with MLA format, since I never used it professionally as I did in this class. The summary essay was quite simple and straightforward, which is also something that I enjoyed. The research argument essay was also a bit of a challenge, but I felt like I did a well-done job. I liked that I was able to talk about a subject I enjoyed, and learn also how to properly use citing within my essays. Furthermore, although there were some challenges and some ups and downs within the essays, I did learn a lot about how to properly write.
I’ve learnt how to do and manage my assignments with a clear day by day schedule which will help me on the future academic workload which I will be facing as my next stage of my education at red river college
English III, I learned new transition words, how to use transition words, and how to add them into my papers to make them more effective. In the first paper I wrote for Dual Comp. English III, I had some difficulty with transitions. I was not sure how to add in a transition word to make my writing flow together and where I did decide to add transitions in my paper, they would be the same one, which made my paper sound repetitive. In the first essay I wrote called, “Helping Others While Helping Yourself” I struggled with my transitions greatly.
I do realize I have a lot to learn but anytime I write better than I did the essay before that is a success. So, to any future students if you are here every day and participate you will be successful this class is organized to make sure when you start writing the essays you are well prepared from all the invention techniques. Overall COM 210 has taught me a valuable number of things and I have retained valuable information I will need in the future. I enjoyed exploring internal business proposals and writing for your intended audience. I can say the most challenging part for me was the group project and I am glad I received a chance to work on that, to me it wasn’t the fact of the group project but the extensive work involved. I will take what I learned from that experience and apply it to others. While I was looking over my writing from the start of the semester up until now I can say I improved a great deal and still have some improvement
My Comp I class allowed me to develop some of my writing skills that already existed. It also taught me new concepts that I had never learned before. Before this class I never knew how to use APA citation. This is now how I’m citing my last major essay.

Maci Podbilski Reflection This Semester of English Comp was very helpful in learning how to use your writing to persuade audiences about social issues in the world. Not only from my own writing but from others as well I have learned new techniques and ways to make my writing more persuasive. I feel as though I know have a good handle on how to persuade readers that there is a probably, how to provide evidence that supports a solution for said problem, and how to make smart writing decisions. Each of the essays we wrote this semester and even the PSA dealt with trying to persuade people in some way.
My Writing Experience In previous courses, my writing skills have been mediocre or just enough to pass the class. Throughout the duration of this course, I have written a variety of papers using different techniques and skills. Previously I would write assuming that the only audience would be my instructor. This course has helped me realize that there are many steps and skills involved with writing a well-organized and easy to comprehend essay.
Each essay I wrote took me several time to write, several drafts which show that I have improve every time I do the drafts to write a perfect masterpiece. I learned a lot of skills and techniques this quarter, which has helped me to improve and progress my writing skills for the future. I will remember the skills, techniques, and tips that professor gave us in this English class for my higher education. For example, all the time that I went to visit professor Sapozhnikov office hours to receive help on my out-of -class essays has helped me to improve, grow, and progress in my writing skills as a writer. Some of the significant changes I have made as I was progressing and growing were to develop a strong thesis to help support my claims as I write my essays, such as facts, observations, illustration, and examples.
Writing better papers was a huge struggle for me. I got to thank online for that. When I was in a class setting I don’t do to good. Was the course better or worse than what you expected?
For the future students of com 102 there is a lot you will learn and take away from this course. I will share my experience and everything i've taken away from this class.
