NHS Personal Statement

The National Honors Society has been a constant but distant presence in my life ever since I was in middle school. Every once in awhile, teachers would mention our GPAs and tell us to keep them up if we wanted to be accepted into NHS, or they would attempt to coax us into behaving better by telling us that the National Honors Society frowned upon our current behavior. Back then, NHS was a prospective part of my future, and I didn’t worry too much about preparing. In my first two years of high school, I watched my fellow students in NHS work to keep up their grades up and to meet the volunteer requirements. I watched them and waited my turn to join them, because after learning what the National Honors Society really was and what it stood for,

National Honor Society is a reputable program to be invited to, and an honor to be accepted into. With the core values of excellent character, admirable service, exemplary leadership, and disciplined scholarship, the National Honor Society provides a group that shows the dedication and diligence of a collective student body. The opportunity of being admitted to the NHS is something that I hold in great regard, and I feel it necessary to prove what I can offer to the NHS, and how I would hope to do so. As a student and budding adult, two ideas I hold dear are the importance of creativity and family. I believe that these, as core values, could be a beneficial focus for the National Honor Society.

In our community, I always strive to help others and the environment, and the people all around. I have assisted in the community cleanup at my local library and also the garbage cleanup at the beach. These actions that I have made helped shape my amazing experience at Wisdom Lane Middle School and they will help me shape my future for the better. These actions helped me build great relationships with the teachers in my school and even the principal. These pillars have helped me succeed in my three years of middle school and help me prepare for the rest of my years no matter what school I go to.

National Honor Society Essay The National Honor Society is a remarkable organization as it truly helps build exemplary people for the community. Being a member allows you to provide help, and become a person of great attributes. While my GPA proves my dedication to my academics, How I use my time outside of school is what shows my commitment to bettering the community. I am honored to be presented with this opportunity that will provide me with countless opportunities in the future.

As an individual who strives to make a positive impact in my community and academic environment, I strongly believe that I should be considered for admission into the National Honor Society. I make it a point to follow the organization's pillars every day. These pillars include Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. By upholding these pillars, I demonstrate my commitment to academic excellence, character development, and community service. Throughout my academic journey, I have exhibited a steadfast commitment to academic excellence by maintaining a GPA of 4.0 and participating in a multitude of advanced and honors courses.

It is a great honor to be considered for membership in the National Honor Society. Since I was a sophomore, my ambition was to study diligently to be amongst the highest students and to be accepted into this scholastic "hall of fame". Getting considered indicates that I have met my goal of exhibiting my thrive and willingness to assist people in my community, so becoming a part of this distinguished institution is a huge responsibility to which I will commit my whole attention. It is an honor to be nominated for the National Honor Society. The fact that I was nominated proves to me that all of my hard work and dedication has not been for nothing. The National Honor Society is known for recognizing students who strive to achieve their best not only in school but in themselves and the community. I believe that I’m one of those students. Based upon my last two year at Matawan Regional I now have a 3.9 GPA and am ranked in the top 20% of my graduating class.

I am extremely honored to be eligible for this opportunity to apply for the National Honor Society. Becoming a member of the National Honor Society has been a goal I set for myself since I was a student in middle school. I have been greatly looking forward to this moment for a very long time. Overall, I have worked incredibly hard these last two years to display a positive character and obtain qualities such as leadership, responsibility, and scholarship. I strongly believe I will be a productive and reliable member of the National Honor Society at Harvard H. Ellis Technical High School.

Dear the National Honor Society selection committee, Thank you for the great honor of being invited to apply for membership to such a well-respected and incredible organization. I am very excited about this opportunity as it presents an optimal way in which to further my passion of expanding my mind and bettering my community. Since I entered high school, I have pursued this by taking all honors classes and any Advanced Placement classes offered to me each year. Although sometimes I was not always entirely sure what to expect walking into each class, and of course there have been classes I like more than others, there is no class I regret taking because each and every one has opened my mind up to a new way of thinking.

It is an extraordinary honor to be considered as a candidate for the National Honor Society. Being considered means I have achieved my goal in demonstrating my determination- in school and outside of school- and my willingness to aid people in my community. Being a part of such a prestigious organization is an enormous responsibility to which I will fully devote my time. Ever since I was a freshman, my goal was to work diligently to be among the highest scholars and to be accepted into this scholarly “hall of fame”. Through my relentless hard work and perseverance, I believe that I possess the four characteristics of a National Honor Society member- leadership, service, character, and scholarship.

Today I am deeply humbled to be recognized as a potential member of the National Honor Society. To me this means I have exemplified everything you look for in a student who goes above and beyond, not just in academics but in athletics, the community and at home as well. I have not taken this selection for granted, as I believe would be a great asset to the National Honor Society. I am hardworking, honest, reliable and quite charismatic too. I hold all the qualities required by the distinguished NHS like leadership, service, character and scholarship.

I am deeply honored and humbled to be among the brilliant and best students who are being considered for the NHS. I have been looking forward to this opportunity since I was accepted at Brophy. I know that National Honor Society does great things in our world today. I was a part of National Junior Honor Society at Saint Theresa Catholic School and that that has had a huge impact on the person I am today. I believe that I exemplify the four pillars of National Honors Society, those being character, scholarship, leadership, and service.

Dear NHS committee I'm writing to you today to tell you why I think I would be a great fit for the National Honor Society. I have always received honors and sometimes high honors throughout middle school, and now high school. Before I knew what the NHS was I didn’t know exactly how having good grades could benefit me. Now, I realize that the NHS is a great opportunity for me and my future. I’ve researched what the National Honor Society wants in its members, and I think I can offer exactly what they are looking for.

When I was 14, I saw my remarkable cousin walk across the stage to receive her award for all her years of dedication to be inducted into National Honor Society. She encompassed all the requirements for entrance into the National Honor Society and ever since then, I have had my mindset on following in her footsteps and stepping even farther to conquer the indefinite. As I opened the letter to be invited to apply for membership, I could not even remember the last time my eyes and smile sprouted that immense because to me, being nominated to be a member of the National Honor Society is an honor in itself. I would be thrilled to join such a society because of the limitless opportunities it would present to me. Joining NHS would allow me to grow as a person and do as much as I can for others.

However, all efforts will pay off in the long run for the community at large. Community involvement provides an environment in which we develop the skills and acquire the knowledge that can help us make a difference in our rapidly changing society. Serving others and giving back to our community is everyone’s duty. You don’t have to have money to give back. Nevertheless, the more you have the more you feel you have to give back and a sense of thankfulness for what you have achieved.
