One of the most important qualities a member must embody is scholarship. This means demonstrating a commitment to learning. For me and many others, scholarship is something that comes naturally in a competitive environment such as school. By looking at my GPA and the grades I have in my classes, it is clear that I am committed to doing well in school. Essay of Intent I deserve to be part of the National Junior Honor Society for many reasons. To begin with I deserve to be in National Junior Honor Society because of my skills as a leader. Additionally, I have a very strong character, and able to work well in a team. Finally, I am willing to give back to the people in need and honoring my country. To wrap it all up, I deserve to be in National Junior Honor Society because of my strong character, my leadership skills, my strength in working in a team, my willingness to help people in need, and for honoring our country.

I am an active member in our community. I volunteer every month, at least once a month. One of the organizations that I volunteer at is Spoonful of Hope. This organization dedicated to feeding those who were, and still are feeling the effects of hurricane Sandy. They also give food to those who are hungry and in need of a decent meal in our community.

Moreover, I have worked very hard throughout high school to better myself and those around me in the many ways mentioned above. I also serve as a role model, both inside the classroom and out, by pushing myself to accomplish goals even I do not always believe I could, always respecting others and listening attentively to the opinions of people around me, and making an effort to enrich the lives of others. Acquiring leadership skills along with a strong character and the sense to serve others is vital. A leader should be resourceful, dependable, selfless, and a good problem solver. I have led in many ways- inside and outside of school. Last year as a tenth grader, I was class secretary for Class Council.

Today I am deeply humbled to be recognized as a potential member of the National Honor Society. To me this means I have exemplified everything you look for in a student who goes above and beyond, not just in academics but in athletics, the community and at home as well. I have not taken this selection for granted, as I believe would be a great asset to the National Honor Society. I am hardworking, honest, reliable and quite charismatic too. I hold all the qualities required by the distinguished NHS like leadership, service, character and scholarship.

Whether it's helping with cleaning up after an event or donating to my community, I will always be willing to help out. I have many good skills and assets that can help me be better in my community and push myself in school and work. I have a lot of knowledge from over the years. Nevaeh Hancock National Honors Society April 18, 23 National Honors Society As a high school freshman watching my brother walk across alongside students representing the National Honors Society encouraged me. Witnessing seniors walk across the stage with pride on their faces from representing the National Honors Society on their graduation humbled me to be a part of the National Honors Society community. I feel like I inquired about all the qualities that are mandatory and more that qualify my entrance into the National Honor Society.

I am ready to board the ship, and set sail – pointing towards a bright future of being an ECU pirate. Being admitted into the Honors College at ECU would be the catalyst to a successful future. As a high school senior, I am considering many universities and believe that being apart of the ECU community would allow me to reach my full potential. Growing up I have always set high standards for myself academically and extracurricularly. I participate in many clubs at my school including BETA club and National Honor Society.

One leadership role that I took on was at my church in my youth group when we worked at a house in Tennessee. I was the oldest of the group and I realized that we were missing a leader and that the work was not going to get done by itself. I decided to take responsibility and I became a leader and we ended up working together well as a team and getting things done on time. Another time I have taken over a leadership role was earlier this year in February.

Throughout my high school career I have been a part of many volunteering opportunities. Being able to help others has been something I have been passionate about for quite a while and it only fits best that I continue doing so. I have a lot experience with working with kids ages 3-12 through my job at Triple C summer camp and from formally being a teacher leader at my local church on Sundays. My goal, when I go to help others, is to give them the confidence I know they have inside them to accomplish whatever it is they want to do. Being a leader in the Educators Rising Club here at Riverside makes me realize what a difference helping a student academically can do.
