Omeprazole (RS)-6-methoxy-2-((4-methoxy-3, 5-dimethylpyridin-2-yl) methyl sulfinyl)-1H-benzoin (d) imidazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) and an anti-secretory compound. It suppresses gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the gastric H+/K+atpase (hydrogen-potassium adenosine triphosphatase) at the secretory surface of the gastric parietal cell[1]. Omeprazole has been characterized as a gastric acid-pump inhibitor, in that it blocks the final step of acid production. After rapid disappearance from plasma, Omeprazole can be found within the gastric mucosa for a day or more. It is freely soluble in ethanol and methanol, slightly soluble in acetone and isopropanol and very slightly soluble in water. Omeprazole is useful in combination with the …show more content…
The final volume was adjusted with the same solvent to get concentration of 100 µg/ml. the solution was further diluted to get the concentration of 10 µg/ml, filtered through 0.45 µm filter tips , and aliquots of 20 µl from this solution was injected into HPLC by using an …show more content…
The method was developed on a Novapak C18 (250×4.6mm, 5µ particle size) column using phosphate buffer (pH7.4) and acetonitrile in the ratio of 60:40, v/v as a mobile phase which was pumped at flow rate of 1.0m/min and detection was done at 302nm.the retention time of drug was found to be 7.71min.A prominence isocratic HPLC system (HPLC YL9000 series) with autochro 3000 software an uv detector. A 20 µl hamitton injection syringe was used for sample injection. Preparation of standard and stock solutions 40 mg of Omeprazole was weighed and transferred to 100ml volumetric flask containing 30 ml of 0.1NNaoH. The drug was allowed to dissolved and volume was made up to 100ml with 0.1 Noah. The above solution was diluted with mobile pause to obtain a working standard solution of 40 µg/ml. The blank solution was prepared and injected. The prepared standard solution was injected and the chromatogram was recorded
Percocet Withdrawal Treatment Percocet is a combination of acetaminophen and oxycodone. Acetaminophen is a pain reliever which is less potent but its effect increased when it is combined with oxycodone. Oxycodone is an opioid pain medication. Percocet is often used as a prescription drug to relieve moderate to severe pain. But too much of Percocet dependency leads to addiction of it.

A common side effect of these medications is a mouth infection referred to as thrush (National Institues of Health, 2014). Another long-term control medication is Leukotriene modifiers. These medications are taken by mouth. They block leukotrienes in the body. When leukotrienes release, they cause airway constriction, swelling and inflammation of the lungs, and increased mucus production.

DOCETAXEL Docetaxel is an anti-mitotic chemotherapy medication that is used to treat breast, ovarian, lung cancer, docetaxel is given intravenously, docetaxel was first approved by the FDA IN 1996, 11 years ago docetaxel was approved again by the FDA on October 17th 2006, docetaxel binds to microtubules reversibly with high affinity. Docetaxel is well known under a brand name Taxotere, Docetaxel belong to a chemical called taxoid. Docetaxel promotes the formation of microtubules that do not function properly. Microtubules aid the replication of cells by disrupting this function and docetaxel inhibits cell replication. There is an active ingredient of 20mg and 80mg of taxotere.

This shows that esomeprazole is more effective in the body. The AUC decreases after consumption.iv The bioavailability of esomeprazole is 68% while the bioavailability of omeprazole is 20%. Therefore, esomeprazole is suggested to be more effective than omeprazole. Esomeprazole 20 mg and 40 mg was shown to have a better healing capability during the eighth week than omeprazole 20 mg in patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease. Over a four week therapy, it was shown that esomeprazole has very little value over omeprazole.
The quantitative research that I will critique, is about the effectiveness of proton pump inhibitors (PPI) in reducing the risk of gastric injury in elderly patients who undergo an aspirin regimen. According to the study, over 50% of elderly patients who had taken either a Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID), or aspirin for less than 30 days presented some type of gastro intestinal (GI) lesion (cite). This very high number causes concern, since aspirin and NSAID’s are commonly used medications to treat, and prevent a variety of conditions. The study aims to answer two questions, the first is the risk of ulcers linked to the acute or chronic use of aspirin, and/or NSAIDs. The second question is the efficacy of anti-acid secretory treatments on these ulcers (cite).
Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) are a group of medicines, such as lansoprazole and omeprazole, that work on the cells that line the stomach, reducing the production of acid. The stomach normally produces acid to help with the digestion of food and to kill germs (bacteria). This acid is corrosive so the body produces a natural mucous barrier which protects the lining of the stomach from being eroded.
Treatments in USA are chemotherapy, lazer surgery, and
[5] Pantoprazole belongs to proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) class of drugs. PPIs acts on parietal cell, lies with them are proton pump which secrete H+ ion and this class of drug irrepressibly inhibit proton pump and thus, decrease acid production. [1] Majority of studies found that all PPIs are similar in their effectiveness, over recommended treatment period. [6] PPIs are also proven and effective to heal any damaged inner lining of food pipe. [1] PPI are first line of choice in moderate to severe GERD.
Baclofen, simply means “muscle relaxer” & an antispastic agent. Baclofen is used for treating symptoms in muscles like multiple sclerosis - including spasm, stiffness and pain. This drug is also used for many purposes that are not listed in this guide Baclofen very rarely causes serious side effects. However, if you experience symptom of serious side effect do not hesitate to call the doctor. Serious side effects: A serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare.
These “spheres” can then release the drug via the surface or bulk degradation of the polymer, with release kinetics controlled by type of polymer used and its properties. Solvents used to dissolve polymeric materials are chosen according to the polymer and drug solubility and stability, process safety and economic
To optimize the RP-UPLC parameters and reach a good resolution and peak Tailing for Lamivudine,Abacavir and Dolutegravir, many chromatographic parameters were tested. Several mobile phases of different ratios were analysed to get that good resolution ,peak shape ,provided sufficient selectivity for the drugs. The phosphate buffer provided a higher sensitivity and selectivity than other buffers did. Using methanol and acetonitrile as organic components shown results in higher sensitivity, but varying the amounts of methanol and acetonitrile in the mobile phase affected the resolution , tailing factor theoretical plates and run time. Varying the pH of the mobile phase resulted in poor peak shapes, not showing good resolution.
Chapter One: Introduction Proton pump inhibitors were initially introduced in 1980 and are widely used for the management of gastric acid conditions such as gastric ulcers, duodenal, reflux oesophagitis, and gastroesophageal reflux disease. Proton pump inhibitors decrease the acid production by enzyme blocking within the stomach walls that produce acids. Acid plays a major role in the production of oesophagus, stomach, duodenum ulcers. Proton pump inhibitors are responsible for the reduction of acid as it works on preventing ulcers and heal all types of ulcers present in stomach, duodenum, and oesophagus. Proton pump inhibitors are widely used method of medication in UK and US (Toh, 2014).
