When I first thought about how soccer impacted my life, nothing really came to mind. I was that kid who mostly looked forward to the end of the game snacks and bringing around the goal jar. But when I actually began thinking about more about playing soccer I realized that soccer was the first place where I was fully submerged into something completely new. I learned how to make friends, how be a leader, and how to have good sportsmanship. These are all things that have made me into the person I am today and it all began on the soccer field.

As I grew older, I came to the realization that sports were not just a game, they with life lessons. Without sports, I would not have been in the same place I am today. The Soccer Game I am running with the ball one on one with the goalie left or right I shoot the ball and hope for the best. All of a sudden I hear the parents go wild I scored ! The refs and soccer scout come to me they give me the man of the match award. The next day at I walk into the big red building awaiting a new day.

Football is a great sport to teach young boys to work for what they want which is winning the game and eventually taking the championship. When my child plays football, he will gain character and that he can use that to benefit him on life skills. Although some would argue that their child cannot play football because it's too dangerous and is a great cause of concussions or any type of injuries, parents also need to understand the viewpoint of their children. Understanding they want to do and extracurricular activities they want to be a part of.

Football has been my favorite sport since I could run. Running free in the grass with friends and family made me appreciate the the quality of life I was blessed to have. Senior year of high school I went from league champions to below .500 records. Lake Winaukee was where the team would prep and practice for the upcoming season. As a senior, I felt I was obliged to help my team win football games and the place we could create chemistry was Lake Winaukee.

Ever since I was a toddler, I loved sports. Baseball, basketball, it did not matter; I just liked to run. When I was around 4 or 5, I was in the living room watching the Steelers play the Cardinals and saw Santonio Holmes grab a game winning touchdown to win the Superbowl. I was so excited that I jumped up in the air and I told my dad, “Daddy when I grow up I want to play football and I want to score a lot of touchdowns just like 10 does.”

The sport of football is apart of my life and I have been playing it with my school friends forever. The sport is also a tremendous part of my family, because we watch games together all the time and it brings us together. Playing football means so much to me because it helps me to not be depressed all the time and to prove to doctors that I can play the sport even with narcolepsy and cataplexy. Also, I want to prove to many people that told me it will be extremely difficult to major in Civil Engineering and play football at the same time. Engineering itself is very difficult, especially when you start the introduction of your major your junior year. Last but not least, football can help me pay for school by earning a scholarship, even though I walked on. This motivation helps me for schooling because all of my first cousins played college ball on an athletic scholarship.

As a little boy I had big dreams of playing football. When I was walking in the halls of the intermediate and middle school and saw the high school football players with their jerseys on, they were like super stars. I looked up to them because I wanted to be like them. The high school football players were popular, they were happy, and they were important to the school. Adrenaline pulsing through my body and anxiety filling up in my stomach, I quickly throw on my football gear and head out to the practice field. It’s a nice hot day in Ocala, Florida, with the sun beating down on our necks, we stand side by side in line waiting to be picked to play second, third, or fourth string in a play. Waiting in anticipation, each of us grinding our teeth, watching first string pure athletes colliding against each other like gladiators to have possession of a ball made at one-time of “pig’s skin”. To some people, the game of American football makes no sense, whether it’s the idea of trying to protect a ball or running and passing it to make a goal for your team. People like this, see the concept of football and understand why millions of people love it; but to them the sport is pointless and causes way too many casualties.

When I was a younger kid, I looked up to the high schoolers like they were NFL players. I always dreamed about playing under the lights on friday night. Football now is a whole different story. All of the persistence and hardship of losing has finally payed off. I am now starting on a team that is going for their sixth state-championship in a row.

My grandmother was a large critic of the game and loathed football in its entirety. My father would go out and have a big lunch with my grandfather every weekend to watch football without having to about my grandmother turning it off. My mother’s love for football did not begin until high school. She was a cheer leader in high school and would cheer for her team every Friday. Her love of football came from her own experiences with the game of football itself.

Being a senior and this might be my last time on the field ever again I gave everything that I have every time I stepped on the field putting my blood and sweat into it. Staying in the gym late waking up in the the morning to workout even when I don't have to. Playing football showed me to not be selfish, to give my time back to the community volunteering for the road race and to help out the community. I became a leader not not giving into any negative influences and to always stay positive, being by my brother's side even when times seem to be bad to leave no man behind. I remember when trash was left on the bus we all had got punished coach had taught an important lesson to not be selfish to think about the team we all had go punished for that even though it was because of one person this showed how if anything happens it is not on one person
