Personal Narrative: My Top High School

During the past few years, I have had many volunteer and leadership opportunities both in and outside of school. Truth be told, I’ve never been the most outgoing person, but many of these opportunities have helped me to step outside my comfort zone, and take leadership various situations. Through my volunteering experiences, I’ve learned many lessons. I believe that going to Archbishop MacDonald high school will continue to push me outside my comfort zone and become a great leader in my community.

On Wednesday, February 1, 2017, Chino Hills High School was out of power, resulting all the students got released early. I walked into the school campus about to sit at the normal table that I wait at. I usually get to school thirty minutes early because of traffic. I did notice something was off when I sat down. The area where I sat was a bit darker than usual.

Freshman year came along and I wanted to attend Sullivan High School. I wanted to come back to my hometown, I was just missing the people I started it all out with in the beginning. My dad and I had all of the paperwork finished already to go for me to attend Sullivan High School in August, but my mom refused and wouldn’t budge to let me go. She didn’t want me going to Sullivan, she wanted me to stay with all of my new friends I had made at Owensville. She thought my best bet would be to stay and proceed to go to OHS.

When it comes to sports my family has many ties to Middletown High School South. In the Going as far back as the 1980’s when my Dad attended the same high school. He was a standout wrestler for the team and was given multiple scholarships to wrestle in college. My family name is everywhere within the trophy rooms and walls of Middletown South. I am the youngest of three children with two older sisters coming through high school before me.

Stem is an exceptional school, but it also has a large amount of poor qualities. I like that the school is known for kinesthetic learning. I am a kinesthetic learner so that aspect would create exceptional academics. Also, I know that Rae is getting in because her sister was accepted, which means I would know her and some kids from church. In contrast some parts of the school that are not as desirable are that there are no art classes.

As I traveled through each grade of the Croton-Harmon High School, my personal and academic goals helped to me to really flourish. These goals may have varied from year to year because a freshman is a little different from a senior, but they basically had all the same concept: I wanted to strive in school to be the best all-around student I could be, constantly stay focused and immerse myself in the Croton community. By setting my expectations and goals very high, I could flourish academically and really work to my full potential. By following these goals in school I pushed myself very hard and tried to take classes that would challenge me as well as help me to flourish as a student.

Friday night, around 12:00 am, Mason Stokes and Brian Kasaba were around a wooded, shallow grave area off Clemson road, when they saw the skeletal remains of a body, that was revealed by heavy rain, and eroded soil. Spring Valley Brian Kasaba said, “Mason and I were hungry, but my mom wouldn’t let us use the car, so we decided the walk to the store, and get some snacks. We took the back way to avoid crossing so many roads, and out of nowhere Mason screamed so loud. At first I thought he was messing with me because the area was suspicious, but I looked down and saw a bunch skeleton bones, and we both lost it.’’ With all the rain and flooding went on about five days ago, not many people have been on the roads.

I was surrounded by a close, caring and loving community. I began to see the endless opportunities my education could offer me. Through setting up a pathway filled with challenging honor classes and CTE classes that interested me, I truly began to care for my academics. Every teacher encouraged me to be the best I could be. During my time at Midway, I learned a lot of responsibility and took pride in my work.

I would like to attend Archbishop Mitty High School for many reasons. Some of those reasons are the community, the academics, and the athletics. After shadow days, the open house, and hearing from students one of the primary reasons to attend Archbishop Mitty High School is the community. The students and teachers really know and care about each other. There is so much love to go around for everyone.

I’m not an orator, nor am I a scholar. Though I do enjoy a good debate and engaging in intellectual conversations ; I feel like I am never “good-enough”. I always seem to find myself comparing myself to others. Whether it’s my grades or appearance. I never feel worthy.

I am so endlessly blessed to be able to wake up each morning and go to a place where I will be surrounded by a system of beautifully complex and wonderfully supportive students and teachers among whom I will not only learn, but be challenged to expand my thinking and reach higher than I thought possible. It is the close-knit Group that is my class of 2019, that I have a grown to know so deeply and personally, that pushes me to do better in both how I succeed in school and how

My second rewarding school experience was in high school senior year. I chose my senior experience because I had to fix what I had done my earlier years of high school. I had to retake some classes and sacrifice my time and my teacher 's were willing to do the same to get me to pass. My teacher 's noticed my main struggles were in math and English and we made a plan of success to help me get on the path to graduate. This year is important because of two reasons reason one was it was my senior year and the second reason was that my school was closing down and there wasn 't going to be any summer courses to take to make up the classes.

I want students to push themselves harder than they though possible, which has been modeled by my professors pushing me to do the same. Teachers are role models to show students that it is okay to not be perfect, but it is about trying to improve and persevere. George Fox has teachers that modeled and let me practice my own pedagogy, which will allow me to be a confident and effective educator. By finishing my education at George Fox I can show my students what it is like to set goals and finish them. I am a proud first generation college student

I’m currently taking a welding class in High School and I have already achieved a couple of certs. This year i’m entering the TSA competition hoping to win district and maybe even be a state champion. The reasons why I would like to attend Tulsa Welding School is to further my education on welding and it’s also a small sized school located close to home. Tulsa Welding School is only specific for welding and pipefitting and doesn’t have other courses, so you can focus only on what you are really there for.

School School has always been my escape; it is a way for me to leave reality and be productive in something I am sure will one day change my life entirely. Graduating from high school was a step I was always afraid off, I was aware of college was around the corner and I was not sure how I would come up with the money to pursue my career in Marketing and Graphic Design. Financially, I had no help, whether it was from the college I decided to attend or from my parents. I concluded that the only way for me to attend higher education, was to pay out of pocket, as no matter how hard I attempted to search and apply for undocumented/DACA student scholarships, I was never awarded any.
