Statement for Scholarship
This writing is to address why I believe I would be a great candidate for a first year study scholarship to the UNLV Masters in Nursing Program. I have never actually applied for scholarship funding before. I have always worked to finance my schooling, received Pell grant funding or taken out student loans. I believe that furthering my education is one of only a few reasons to go into debt, and because of that I have been willing to take on loans as a result. As I am entering into a Masters program I find that having some of the burden taken from me so that I can focus my attention on the importance of the program would make a substantial difference. Though if I was not granted the luxury of a scholarship I would still
Membership in Ball State University's Honors College presents an opportunity for me to be surrounded by peers who share a similar commitment to academic excellence. I am eager to build beneficial connections with like-minded students who take their education seriously. Furthermore, I look forward to interacting with professors who will challenge me to grow to my full potential. I believe that this stimulating and rigorous academic environment will push me to excel academically and personally.
As I begin my college education, I want to continue doing my best in order to accomplish my goal of becoming a registered nurse. With the scholarship money I can have the peace of mind of solemnly focusing on college. Students who have to work to continue their education have trouble focusing on school and do not have the extra time to study or go to tutoring sessions. In many cases, having to work while attending college usually leads to failing or dropping the class due to extra stress and the idea of income. As well, this scholarship will give me more time to focus on my education and to continue my volunteer work helping the
Personal Statement for Graduate School I was born and grew up in Afghanistan and finished my school in Kabul Afghanistan, in a school which was trying to encourage girls and women to get education and be active in their social life. Growing as women in Afghanistan is not easy. Even sometime you need to fight for your basic rights such going out, school or you cannot decide about your life. In some areas such as rural areas women even do not know about their rights. They think that their families, father, mother or brother have right to make decision for them and women should not get education.
I have just recently begun to hate writing. Not all writing, just the kind that leaves me staring at a blank computer screen or clean piece of paper for countless minutes with no idea of how to start off in which to captivate my readers, especially my professor. I will ritually rack my brain for dozens of wasted moments, deciding on how to begin, continue, and complete an essay assignment, while trying to avoid any obvious signs within my work itself that my apprehension towards writing is just as strong as the wildfires currently burning Washington State. Research writing is however, a different, more alleviating and empowering type of writing because it allows my subconscious to camouflage its worries and impotency behind objective facts
My mother's side of the family is Episcopalian, but my father, an agnostic, always taught me to be skeptical. Thus, I didn't really take Christianity seriously until junior high, when I received an introduction to Christian theology, the Trinity, and God's plan of Salvation. This happened due to my involvement in the AWANA program, which is focused on Biblical study and memorization. Through my constant study of scripture, I became enraptured with the message of the Gospels, and with the promise of forgiveness and transformation through the blood of Jesus Christ.
I believe that I am qualified to receive a scholarship because I have worked hard throughout my high school life to keep my grades high and to volunteer as much as I could. I am a very active member in NHS and PHP at my school, and I look for many opportunities in order to participate more in community service. Working with the community and the people around me has helped me tremendously with becoming more of a leader and being more willing to share ideas that I may have. I believe that a scholarship will push me even further towards my psychology degree and my dreams of someday being able to help others through my career.
As I prepare to begin my post-secondary studies at the University of Alberta, I hope to contribute towards the U of A’s vision of being one of the world’s greatest universities for the public good. I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and as a part of my studies; I hope to participate in the independent research opportunities available in my field of study. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate alongside internationally recognized professors in world class research facilities. As our society faces the consequences of health issues such as obesity and heart disease, I hope to collaborate with others in investigating and developing solutions to these problems. While I do not have prior research experience, I am confident
PERSONAL STATEMENT Arjun Balasubramanian | UM-ID: 06824428 Computer Science & Engineering M.S. Fall 2018 Growing up in India has been an enriching experience; my interactions with people from different cultures and ideologies have broadened my perspective and allowed me to view things in different ways. Swami Chinmayananda Saraswati, the founder of my high school had once made a very powerful statement - “Youth are not useless, but they are used less.” This statement has been having a resonating impact on me since high school. During my senior year at NIT Trichy, I had conceptualized the idea of a “Youth Summit” that would allow young engineers to discuss and ideate on progressive themes.

I am determined to win and nothing will stop me until i reach my goal.
I, Subahshchender Reddy Komatireddy, do believe that a man’s learning is a never ending process, that’s how the mode of life transformed and would continue to do so. where structured learning would have an upper hand over unstructured, which we called it as academic learning. this is the reason we give prime importance to the education to younger generation. I am fortunate to have the best education right from childhood till graduation, that is because of my parents inherent attribute to give best education to their children. In my school days i was quite fascinated to the science as like any other young one’s curious mind to know things in the world, which led me to develop scientific thinking in me on any issue right from oldest civilisation to the space missions if them are within my understandable ability.
If I were to have the honor of winning this scholarship, it would boost my self-esteem because not only was I nominated by my teachers, but because I will have created a foundation to begin my journey to achieve a successful college education. This scholarship would help me financially and assist in providing a well-rounded college experience. I believe in the importance of a college degree; being the first generation in my family to attend a four-year university has given me even more motivation and determination to succeed. Throughout my high school career, I have been actively involved in several extracurricular activities.
The vision of reshaping the world around us and preserving this magnificent world for future generations inspires and encourages me to learn as much as I can about the earth. Studying overseas will give me an opportunity to further my academic study in a foreign country and absorb alternative view on urban and cultural geography, that’s necessary to correspond to recurring issues such as globalization, urbanization and water management. By learning how Chinese researchers, managers, and farmers habituate and respond to climate and environmental changes to make sustainable uses of water resources for both agricultural production and ecosystem protection. Since the end of my freshman year I have realized that my desire for conserving the space we utilize is a natural calling that I am destined to take, embarking on this educational journey to Beijing, China for the water resource program in the summer of 2018. To
I am very passionate about marketing and I want to start improving myself more on this field. As a student athlete, my time is very limited and I want to manage my time as effectively as possible. I believe an internship on campus will be very beneficial for increasing my productivity because the time flexibility will allow me to work at my best. Moreover, I am a learner and I am very curious about learning how to effectively reach out to people, interview them and create compelling projects to expand Athlete Network's reach. Being an international student also enhanced my abilities to communicate and think out of the box due to examining and interacting with different types of people throughout my life.
This scholarship is a wonderful opportunity for students of GVSU, and I am honored to be considered for this scholarship. I believe that I am a great applicant for this scholarship, and that I deserve this scholarship. One reason I deserve this scholarship is because of my strong academic courses. Throughout my high school career, I pushed myself academically by taking a total of 10 AP classes and 7 honors classes. These classes were all challenging, yet I pushed through with determination to complete the classes to the best of my ability.
Some of my earliest memories consist of myself curled up on the couch with my family, not watching cartoons like the rest of the kids but instead the Science Channel, learning about how things work through “How It’s Made” and how to use the scientific method to perform experiments from “MythBusters”. The interest in scientific exploration that I developed along with my natural curiosity regarding the inner workings of things only strengthened as I grew older, and, coupled with my aspirations to improve the lives of others and have a positive impact on the world, led to my desire to pursue medical research. Out of the countless subjects in the field of medicine, my greatest fascination is with the brain. The human brain is an amazing phenomenon,
