The impact of Excelsior Scholarship As a college bound New York student the Excelsior Scholarship would play an incredible impact on my life. This is a great New York free tuition program that was introduced by Governor Andrew Cuomo. Students who already live in New York and will be able to attend college full will be able to benefit from this generosity. However, although this is a wonderful opportunity some students who desperately need it will not be able make use of it. Let us think of students who work part time or full time, or for some other reason can only do part time studies.

As a person who lost a loved one to cancer, I have desired to find a way to cure such an illness. Seeing the type of pain people endure inspires me try to use my life to find way to relieve their pain. The way I want to do this is by developing new pharmaceuticals through research on cancer stem cells. The vast field of chemical engineering would help me reach my full potential in enhancing medical drug discovery. I believe that Texas A&M would provide me with all the tools I could need to pursue my chemical engineering degree, as well as other aspects of engineering I may want to pursue as well.

National Junior Honor Society Essay Being a member of National Junior Honor Society interests me in a number of ways. I believe I excel in all five criteria of NJHS: academics, leadership, service, citizenship, and character, and being a part of this national organization will help me improve much more in each of the categories. I am also interested knowing that having membership in NJHS will help my future career and bring a lasting impression to many people. In total, I work about 32 hours a week and occasionally babysit in the evenings. Why do you feel you are a good candidate to receive this scholarship? I feel I am an exceptional candidate to receive this scholarship because I am dedicated to my sorority, I work hard to earn my own income, and I would be devastated if I could not remain a member because of a financial situation. I am devoted to my studies to earn scholarships to help alleviate some of the student loans I am incurring, but unfortunately those do not go towards greek life. As I begin my college education, I want to continue doing my best in order to accomplish my goal of becoming a registered nurse. With the scholarship money I can have the peace of mind of solemnly focusing on college. Students who have to work to continue their education have trouble focusing on school and do not have the extra time to study or go to tutoring sessions.
