Happiness
Happiness is not feeling good all the time, having more money and affording everything you want, not a final destination. Then what actually is happiness?
People have agonized over this question for ages, but now today science has begun to weigh in on the debate. Many people think that getting what you want is happiness, being more rich is happiness which helps you buy every branded cloth, phone, make-up, shoe, being mentally satisfied is happiness, but no there are things beyond these desires which actually sum up happiness.
If feeling good was the only requirement to happiness, then a person who uses cocaine daily is “happy”, the answer would be yes. Research has suggested that if you only focused on feeling good all the time than you might undermine your ability to feel good, in simpler words, no amount of feeling good will be enough for you. Living under the poverty line wouldn’t give you much happiness, and if you unexpectedly get a $10,000/year, you’ll be happy temporarily with this amount of money, as your desires will lead to a new height of increased budget and certainly your

If you know the tools for happiness, then you’ll make it work like magic
Happiness might be in the smallest of the things but sometimes the material things won’t give you permanent feeling of joy, you might be happy with those things for a shorter time but it won’t be long lasting. Just as learning new skills requires effort, you will have to strive and work hard to achieve real, long lasting happiness.
2. If you are satisfied with everything you’ve, you might lose the motivation to achieve more and be more happy
Happiness is something that boosts up your energy. If you ask someone who has a sports car, you’d ask him to go out for racing, and he’d be as excited as you. But if you ask someone who is depressed he’ll be trying to delay this as much as he can. So happy people are more passionate, motivated and
In his article "In Pursuit of Happiness: Better Living from Plato to Prozac," Mark Kingwell describes how there has been many debates on the meaning of happiness for many years yet still a singular, justifiable definition eludes society. The pursuit to define and understand happiness has invited several debates, questions, arguments, and suggestions alike. In 1996, a hand full of genetic and behavioral studies suggest evidence that one’s achievable degree of happiness is genetically decided, with evidences showing that no achievement will change your happiness, you are either happy or you’re not. Some studies demonstrated a correlation between dopamine levels in the brain and expressions of personal satisfaction, while others indicated that
One of those words that is commonly misinterpreted, especially in today's society. In today's society, we believe that happiness is reaching your final destination without any bumps in the road, or being rich and getting everything you want. This is simply not the case; happiness is a person’s satisfaction with life on a day-to-day basis regardless of circumstances. Happiness is being happy with your daily routine and getting up everyday excited to start your day. The most common leading cause for human beings to lose their sense of real happiness is the overuse of technology.
The Theme of Happiness What is your definition of happiness? My definition of happiness is enjoying all that you. In the book, The Great Gatsby, Fitzgerald thinks the definition of happiness is having a lot of money and high status.some other people think that being loved and loving someone could bring you happiness. Everyone has a different definition of happiness but I think true happiness come from enjoying everything you do, not money and status or even love.
Station Eleven and I: What is Happiness? Happiness is being around your self-chosen family with a career in a profession that simultaneously gives you purpose and help improve our society. It is the feeling of comfort and being considerate of others. The novel Station Eleven has many different definitions of happiness as defined by various characters within the book.
First I will address the term happiness. I would like to argue that happiness is whatever you want it to be, either having good relations to others, having obscure measures of money or even being free, but I can not argue with the fact that happiness is controlled by chemical reactions in the brain that stimulate us into thinking we are happy. It is nothing more than simple biology.
Lastly, I believe the last key to happiness if to look at everything in the most possible way. If you look at everything negative then you will never be truly happy and you won’t have very many people who wants to be around a Debby Downer. Being happy is a choice, as Abraham Lincoln said,” Most folks are happy as they make up their mind to be” you have every right to be happy, its just up to you to make it
People miss the fact that happiness comes from within. In an attempt to find joy – we must also be cautious about over excessive desire to acquire material objects and wealth. There is a delicate balance that must be reached between the pursuit of happiness, satisfaction, and contentment. While there are many conditions that fulfill ones emotional wellbeing, happiness and how we acquired it, depends upon the
I believe that pursuing happiness as a goal has detrimental effects. As a society, we tend to believe that we need to be full of joy at all times, but that isn't realistic - life happens. By attempting to be cheery all the time, you will never be genuinely content. You will always be searching for more and won't be satisfied with what you have, creating a permanent cycle of gloom rather than bliss.
Throughout the course of one’s life, there is a constant search for some form of happiness. We may not always realize we are on the quest for it, but it’s part of human nature. In “Silver Linings Playbook” we see this happen throughout with Pat and Tiffany, who are both searching for happiness. The film is relatable to us all in that many times we go looking for happiness only to come up empty-handed.
Not many achieve happiness in their lifetime. Either they do not live long enough to witness it or they are not prepared for what their happiness is. Happiness is very subjective. Each person’s version of happiness is different. This version of happiness is universal.
Happy people are more open and easier to approach in public. Additionally, as Susan David states, “In some cases, they even help broaden how we think and act by directing our attention to new information and opportunities” (David 124). By being happy, one is more likely to listen to other people to learn the way they think or feel about a certain thing. Someone is even more likely to accept what is said or even start to feel that way about that particular topic as well. Happiness has other benefits as well.
Happiness can be viewed from many perspectives. Individuals display their happiness in countless ways, could be having someone to speak to on good and bad times, happy relationships, passing an exam, having your loved ones alive and healthy can be happiness to you the list goes on. It all comes down in the way you view things in life. In my opinion it is about the energy you display or attract. When you give off positive energy into the universe you attract positive energy in return.
: Definition of happiness is different from person to person. Happiness is a inner feelings or emotions of the person. For some people, happiness is to enjoy their work, social life, but for other it may be money or family. Happiness is an experience in which we can understand more and learn appreciation. Sometimes, happiness is difficult for many to achieve just because of we can not enjoy the moment that we have.
How does someone know if they are truly happy? Much of society have come to associate happiness with the pursuits of personal pleasures or that which makes us “feels good”. When we feel good we display positive expression of emotions such as joy, laughter, kindness and fewer negative emotions such as anger, hate, and sadness. To some people our happiness is already determined through our genes. Some people seek happiness through money and material possessions.
The definition of happiness incorporates different aspects of religion, science, and philosophy. To me, being happy means that someone has discovered who they truly are and what they believe in. A study on the Jewish
