Historically speaking, student searches came about in response to such as Columbine, Littleton, and Springfield’s sudden acts of these schools. More than half of all students have been pressured to try drugs or already have tried them according to the many annual studies by the National Institute on Drug Abuse. “The government started sending dogs to Texas-based schools. Now schools contract dogs to 1,200 school districts in 19 states. They had brought in speakers to talk to parents and the kids” (Robinson). So, to keep the problem from growing, they start using dogs to sniff the lockers to find drugs. Now, those who see the dogs conduct these searches, don’t know when the searches are coming. “Many students have an investment to protect themselves. Most students and parents thought using dogs to conduct random drug searches. This can create a climate of fear and distrust between many teachers and students. Now they’re running the risk of people mistakes thinking your school is a problem school or something bigger” (Robinson). This passage suggests that if you bring drug dogs to school that your just creating fear towards your schools and make your school look bad. Lastly, with schools making the decision also run the risk of alienating kids. “Kids feel that their person rights are being violated and that the school only does it because they don’t trust them. Students feel like before school starts using drug dogs and begin random searches, there needs to be some compelling
I chose the case of the exemption for whaling because it clearly shows how globalized opinion has the power to impact villagers that may not even be aware of the discussions that their activities generate worldwide. After reading this paper you will notice that I am against this whaling ban because I have already seen the devastating force that some hypocrite laws have and what they can do to small communities, usually constituted by poor people. Just to illustrate my point, a similar case happened in Brazil, when a few years ago the government banned amateur fishing activities in the Brazilian Pantanal and thousands lost their jobs because they were not considered professional fishermen (Governo sanciona lei que proíbe pesca amadora por 3
Drugs make a person insane and wacky, and that is definitely not needed at school because there is a major populace there. Also, selling or secretly putting a drug in them that they could be highly allergic to could injure or kill them easily. Drugs can kill somebody just as easy as a gun can. Random locker searches are good because of drugs and other violent weapons and chemicals.
One day, one child, one gun, one school. Now, as saddening as it is to admit, we live in a world where school shootings are a part of everyday life, and there is nothing being done to stop them. As most can recognize, most of the media is more focus on what the President is going to say after the shootings happen, rather than focusing on what we as a nation are going to do to stop these tragic events. There have been a few ideas when it comes to solving this issue, and truthfully, most of these ideas will fall flat on their faces; meanwhile, arming teachers seems to be a possible solution. Arming teachers will deter shooters, secure students fears from outside threats, and in the worst case scenario can stop a school shooter before they can commit mass murder.
Students today live their day-to-day lives in constant fear of what seems inevitable. The United States has one of the highests rates of school shootings in the world. Society has become so desensitized to these shootings that they are no longer shocked to hear about another school falling victim to it. Even when students take a stand against gun violence, the only solution offered to them is a proposition to arm teachers. However, bringing more guns into a school will only further deteriorate the situation.
There is a survey that 17 percent of high school have done or do drugs or alcohol. So the random locker search is a good thing because 17 percent of 500 people 85
The shootings that have happened in schools throughout America over the past few months has divided Americans on what they need to do as a nation to stop additional shootings from occouring. Many believe that creating new laws on buying weapons by requiring background checks, holding adults liable for the actions of their kids and requiring safety devices on weapons to stop youngsters will stop these massacres in schools from happening, it 's a step in the right direction, however, it 's not good enough nor is it effective enough, America needs well regulated gun laws and the politicians must understand that the laws should be based on facts, not opinions. There are several problems that need to be looked at in order to determine which laws are necessary. According to a recent study, America has the highest amount gun related deaths every year in the world. “Germany, has 371 gun related deaths, France 255, Canada 165, the united kingdom 68, Australia 65, Japan 39 and America, 11,200”.
Hunting I remember the first time I went hunting with my family we were hunting deer we shot one and went and stood by it then we heard a noise behind us we looked behind us and the deer was running away so we went and chased it down and finally got it three miles away one of the greatest memories I have had and glad I got to share it with my family. So if you are going to go hunting then you should first you should go to a store that sells a gun then buy some ammo for whatever gun you bought next buy some bright orange then you need to go to a hunter safety course and once you pass then you may then get your hunting license once you find what you are going to go hunting for you should get someone like friends or family to go with you then you need to call people that you know have hunting ground so that you have a lot of options to go hunting on.
It is immediately implied that safety and behavior is an issue there since it is anticipated that students are or will be bringing weapons with them to school. In addition to outside onlookers getting some negative feedback, the actual students attending the school have given inputs of not agreeing with the idea of having metal detectors in schools. According to the Ny Daily News website, students feel unwelcomed and see metal detectors as barriers to their school. Knowing that a school is anticipating the entry of weapons does not change the fact that there are students or individuals expected to attack at
Every year hundreds of wild, exotic animals are killed, primarily in Africa, for money, bragging rights, and even decoration. Big game trophy hunting is a booming business, but has sparked a worldwide debate, especially after the killing of Cecil the Lion. Trophy hunters claim they are helping conservation efforts, but in reality, they are harming them. This sport is damaging the overall population of a species, especially lions, rhinos, and elephants. Also, the overall revenue from big game hunting is a small amount, and only a small percent of that goes to help the community.
Do you like vermin lingering around the streets? I suspect you don’t. Do you have any idea how many foxes are around lately? The fox population is increasing day by day and it is a nuisance to farmers and eventually to the metropolitans living in the urban areas as well. Fox hunting is a traditional sport which is enjoyed by the masses of British people.
Americans hunt a combined 282 million days per year. That’s an average of 21 days per hunter. An average hunter spends $2,484 every year on the sport. Some animals are illegal to hunt. More than 38 million Americans hunt and fish.
Pro-Hunting Argument To hunt or not to hunt, many see it as a negative and its being cruel to animals. Other think if humans keep hunting, animals are going to go extinct. But what many don’t know is how much hunting helps animals and the conservation of animals. People that don’t know what really is going on they always head toward the negative. I’m Going to explain how hunting helps wildlife and how Hunting permits are good because they help maintain animal conservation.
Hunting has been a part of our society since the first man set foot on this continent, but animal rights movements have become popular in our society recently that has questioned the necessity of hunting in our modern times. Because of this, animal populations are left freely to where they can multiply at an alarming rate. Hunting is a great means of controlling animal populations’ growth, although greatly opposed by many. While hunting is a very controversial topic in our society, there are great points for being for and against it. Hunting is a way that humans see to keep balance of the ecosystem.
An alternative route schools can take is instead of having locker searches, they can get metal detectors to prevent weapons such as guns/knives and/or drugs being on school property. It would be just effective as locker searches. It also ensures that nobody gets hurt and if someone decides to bring a weapon to school they can stop it at the door instead of waiting for someone to get hurt, then taking action. It’s less likely for students to sneak in harmful things that can put themselves or others in
“Over 60% of teens claim drugs are used on school grounds”(Fitzgerald). Over the years, schools have not been doing anything to prevent this. Teens revealed that, “1 in 5 of their classmates either drink, use drugs, or smoke during school hours on school grounds” (Fitzgerald). More studies show that, “17% of high school students use drugs daily.” Kids in schools know someone who either does drugs, or sells drugs on school grounds (“School”).
