At school students should feel a genuine sense of belonging due to the fact that school is the single most important place in the lives of most children. It is a place where they should feel supported and comfortable because their experiences at school will play a vital part in their lives. When schools start tracking students through the use of ID cards, they start violating the student's right of privacy, possibly putting the students in danger, and neglecting the student's right of liberty. Clearly, public schools should not put Tracking devices in Id cards.
First and foremost, it is unconstitutional for schools to violate the student's right of privacy. Student attending NorthSide ISD are being treated cruelly; the school utilize their IDs to track them like a pack of cattle. However the the tracking devices would affect student attendance in a negative way. It will promote teen rebellion, students will go to school without an ID or skip school entirely. Attendance will be dropped and tracking devices will be the reason. Also if schools have to rely on this despicable tracking system it only shows the teacher's incompetence to take and report student attendance. Furthermore because of the tracking system embedded in students IDs are prone to be subjects to predators. Think about it, the internet is a dangerous place if you know the right network you can get any type of information. As executive director of texans for accountable government questioned how the data is kept. Heather Fazio states, “After paying a 30 dollar fee with FOIA I was able to get every students name and address [Quattlebaum].” This program is not safe, if anyone can tap into the radio frequency network then everyone of these students are in danger from potential
