We, Nery Chavez and Fatima Khan from Harmony School of Discovery are writing this letter to bring to your attention something that we believe is unfair and requires inquisition. We believe that our dear friend and, until recently, classmate, Riley Brast should be re-enrolled in the senior class at Harmony School of Discovery for the 2015-2016 school year. Riley Brast has attended Harmony School of Discovery since the 2011-2012 school year, her eighth grade year. Since then she has grown as a person, as a student, and as a friend. At Harmony School of Discovery we have a very tight knit group of students. When Discovery first opened as a new school it opened it’s doors to kids from everywhere and from every which background. Us students were forced to come together and start fresh with virtual strangers, leaving behind everything familiar. This reality forced us to build new bonds with people going through the same hurdles as us, adjusting to a new school and a disparate environment. We learned how to nurture and preserve close relationships among our classmates, relationships between teachers and students, and relationships between students and administration. Over the years we have lost a numerous amount of friends and teachers moving to different schools from …show more content…
She has become part of the HSD family. It’s not only her good behavior and academic performance that makes her a part of our school, but her personality and outgoing nature that has the power to light up every room she walks into. Riley has always been involved in the growth and progress of this school, from guiding the children in the younger grades to maturity, to taking part in its literal growth when the school expanded during the 2012-2013 school year. We have come so far for a small charter school and she has been a part of it all. It would be a shame for her to not be able to see it flourish even further her last year as a high
When reading and listening to lectures I was struck by the information presented in part two of the Jossey-Bass Reader on Educational Leadership: Moral Leadership. I believe this stemmed from three key ideas: trust, relationships, and business. To begin, I was extremely interested in the emphasis on trust and how trust is the glue that holds together a school. When reading I found myself nodding along at how important trust is to an organization especially a school that functions mostly on communication.
Laurel ridge students have been transferred over to Sherwood Middle School. This is because of boundary changes. The change seems to have no effect on any students. Students look happy. This is why the change
Doug. Respectfully, your either a ineffective board member or your intentionally misleading folks. My finger is pointing directly at the truth. Certain folks within the Chambers Executive team are effectively actin as a financial conduit, funding our career elected officials to promote an particular outside interest in Folsom. My proof is solid.
With their help I left John Edgar Howard elementary school with a strong head on my shoulders, and the devotion to strive for more. I had to move to a different elementary school because John Edgar Howard Elementary ended up being closed, because of the rough neighborhood. I then, attended Bradbury Heights; a school that I didn’t know existed. I was never exposed to many different neighborhoods, or opportunities. I managed to graduate and proceed to middle school where I continued my athletic career of basketball, and outstanding academic profile.
She didn't care that they were Jewish, she just wanted to help. She was brave to risk her life to save others. She didn't want to see innocent people be killed for no reason. It wasn't the fact that these people were Jewish, it was the fact that they were harmless and she didn't want to see them die. She was a very caring person and even said that she would probably bug herself and have nightmares about it if she wouldn't have had helped a family like the Franks die.
Dear Simon Bolivar Buckner, 12/01/2016 I am Yasmine and i go for the North side. All we want is to keep our country back together. You should join us because in our constitution all men are free, and the south doesn’t follow our constitution. So basically in the south all slaves aren’t treated equally.
I was lost. Friends were not at my disposal. Time was in abundance. Thoughts was all i had. Freshman through Christmas break of my sophomore year I attended Berks Catholic High School, but before that I graduated from a feeder school named Scared Heart School.
Dear Steve Harmon , I hope you’re doing well Mr.Harmon , I know you have been through a whole lot of things you would’ve wanted to go through . Now I understand , why people kill and murder others not everyone does it, people have a reason why. But I do believe you are innocent since you are a young boy, of course you’d be nervous or scared. O’Brien gave several reasons why you should come out
Now I have friends and former classmates teaching in the district. A few of my old teachers are still there, mostly in the History Department. I keep in touch with a few of them on facebook.
As you can perceive, unlike Campus, with smaller class sizes Haysville High gives each and every student an opportunity to have one on one time with their teachers. To put it differently, Campus High is overpopulated, and the school seemed “crammed.” For instance, there are countless classrooms at Campus that are so full; they do not even have enough desks for the students. Thus, Haysville High is diminutive enough to focus attention on every student, and makes all of us feel accepted. For all these reasons, Haysville High’s environment is more conducive to learning than Campus is.
This created a great rift between me and the people that had been my friends. I began trying to hang out with friends but found they were always busy while I was home reading, waiting for an adventure. I had managed to keep a few of my friends and these people are still my friends today, but first I had to deal with being solitary for a while. After I accepted the way school, and friends were going to go I only faced one obstacle. Almost my entire life changed after my move, I had a new routine, some new friends, and a new way I had to learn.
It is apparent in this domain of school connectedness, when defined as a student’s membership or attachment to school, that interactions with other people on school play a significant role in a personal sense of school connectedness. Other sources have suggested that connectedness occurs when a person is actively involved with another person, object, group, or environment that will ultimately promote a sense of comfort and well-being and reduce anxiety (Dixon, 2007; Karcher, 2004). Accroding to Klem & Connell (2004); Lessard et al (2008). The interpersonal relationships that are developed and nurtured in the school context have been shown to be significant for the construct of school
In the duration of my middle school years, I maintained excellent grades, except I had just one issue that held me back from a satisfying life. That issue was the fact that friends came very hard to me in my middle school years. Before my struggles at my middle school, Trafton, I had a very productive social life in the Elementary school I attended, Roberts Elementary. Here, it was very easy to make friends and have a great social life, since no hard work was required as a kid. Middle school, however, was a great challenge for me.
For example, utilizing rap music or pop music that students listen to and have interest in drawing their attention. Making learning interactive, by building on what the student already knows. That pursuit of student’s interest from questioning, dialogue, and just focusing on building relationships. Impoverished children have that need to belong to something, and seek out attention that may not be given at home (Ciaccio, 2000). Relationship building will assist in cooperation to allow students to take ownership of their own education.
Surviving in High School “The journey doesn’t start at the beginning, begins at the end.” School is one of the most memorable moments you will experience in your life, are those moments when you find a second family in your life called “classmates”, they start being strangers to classmates, classmates to friends and friends to brothers and sisters, you spent every single day of your life for more or less 2 years of your life that you start to know them more than anybody. I study in Colegio De La Salle in Panama City, Panama. My years in De La Salle are priceless, because it’s the place where I grew up as a student and the most importan as an Human being. During my time in De La Salle I found “Ma Squad” that’s how we call our group back in Panama, where we experience and pass so many things together.
