The following vision and mission of Pineloch Elementary will never be fulfilled with an administration and their leadership team bullying, harassing and picking on teachers that they have emotional nonprofessional issues with.
Vision: To be the top producer of successful students in the nation.
Mission: To lead our students to success with the support and involvement of families and the community.
Why has there been no action taken after a number of union teachers have expressed to union representatives about harassment and bullying from administration and the CRT/leadership team members at Pineloch Elementary?
Examples of Mrs. Danielle Arbelaez- Willis being a bully towards the teachers include but are not limited to using unprofessional gestures and remarks has been told to CTA representatives. Additional issues including but are not limited to making teachers leave because clothing that has been worn in the

I am confused where the representation and concern for the union teachers is.
Harassment and bullying is not tolerated by students and is documented on the news all over the country when it occurs. It is time to step in and remove the bullies – administration at Pineloch Elementary. The teachers should not be going home crying, worrying about being harassed or have to take medical leave to seek professional help.
The media needs to step in as this unprofessional harassing administrative behavior has been documented all year long. No longer can this be pushed under the rug. Media and lawyers need to be notified and action must take place. Teachers should not live in fear of harassment or false documentations, to lowering observations as personal vendettas are being fulfilled by the observers. Bullying and Harassment in the work place is illegal and not a good representation of what OCPS should stand
Superintendent Elliott made some errors in this situation. A couple of the errors were responding to the parent complaint without referring him to the proper level and failing to listen to the principal. The complaint that was made by the parent is something that should have been handled by the building principal. Instead of trying to take care of the situation himself the superintendent he should have led the parent to the correct building level channel first to come to allow them the chance to come to a solution. The building principal should have been able to build a stronger school community relation with this parent by being honest and handling his mistake.
From handbook: Code 412: Assault of Teacher or Staff An intentional or reckless act that causes or has the potential to cause physical injury to a teacher or school staff on school grounds or at a school-sponsored activity. Joseph was trying to keep another student from harm. He did not assault Mr. Reese. He pulled Mr. Reese's arm from about Olivia's neck.
Why or why not? The principal is not overreacting to Ann's statement because when it happened, nothing was done about it, consequently, after it leaked and caused a negative reaction among colleagues then Watt recommended a dismissal. Watt must also assure that both procedural and substantive requirements are met before dismissing Ann. "School officials may not penalize or otherwise discriminate against teachers for the proper execution of their First Amendment right" (Essex, 2012, p. 218).
The impetus for this email is a recent conversation that I had with Ms. Rhoe where she expressed to me that in addition to the six courses that I assigned her to, she is also teaching an Academic Advisory class for SECHS which meets Monday through Thursday for 30 minutes each session. That amounts to 2.0 hours of uncompensated instruction per week. Evidently all of the high school 's "regular" teachers are charged with this duty. I told her that again, she was hired by STCC not SECHS, and should not be required to perform any additional duties for the high school especially without compensation.
In 2010, Russlyn Ali wrote a letter to their colleagues about reducing bullying in schools (Doc. G). The purpose of the letter was to warn administrators that they must take harassment and discrimination incidents seriously (Doc. G). In the letter, it included an important statement which listed important information on harassment and what it includes. The letter stated "harassment may take many forms including verbal acts, name-calling, and graphic and written statements. It may also include being physically threatened."
The staff can be reassigned pending the outcome of the superintendent investigation or the staff may resign or be terminated. The superintendent must report all the findings and judgements to the department of education. The department of education then shall maintain each report of misconduct as a public record in the instructional personnel's certification files (F.S. 1012.796(d). d. Two key points of the MDCPS expectation for reporting child abuse are that the staff has to immediately report the abuse to the twenty-four (24) hour, toll-free DCF Central Abuse Hotline. The staff has to also immediately notify (305) 995-COPS (2677) and the school site administrator that the abuse has been reported to the DCF Central Abuse
Your district must implement a Reduction in Force (RIF) based on declining enrollment and budget cuts. You have recommended a list of teachers from your school to the superintendent. One of the teachers on the list had previously filed an EEOC suit against you alleging discrimination regarding a department chair’s position that she was not awarded. You know that she will allege retaliation as the basis for her layoff.
The board workers over public schools are taking a more proactive stance on the issue of public safety. Although many of the schools have not experienced any sort of
This time is given to provide the teacher a chance to correct their faults. For unsatisfactory performance, the board should give notice 90 days before filing the charges (Cal. EDC code §44938). Once the official charges are adopted the teacher is given 30 days to request a hearing. Hearings are held within 60 days from the date the employee demanded a
As a paraeducator, I have never understood the inner workings of the school board. This was an eye-opening event on how professional the meetings are and the amount of information discussed. It was surprising to see the staff resignations listed with the name of the person, their role and where they worked. I also did not realize the school board followed parliamentary law and procedures. With this being said, the chair would announce a motion and then a member would announce a decision.
In every school there are set policies and procedures so that all people working within the school are aware and stick to the same rules. Consistency is imperative. All adults working in the school would be : teaching staff, support staff, lunchtime supervisors, kitchen staff, governors, after school staff and temporary staff. There are many policies in schools that children and staff should be aware of.
Lastly, I would advise them to contact administration if any additional concerns arise. Educators, administrators, and support school personnel have the great honor of serving today’s youth. We must always protect the students, ensuring their safety as if they were our own, and we must listen to the concerns of all key stakeholders for we serve the
Bullying is an undesirable, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves actual disparity of power. According to Megan Brooks bullying is a serious public health problems, with significant short-and long-term psychological consequences for the child who is bullied and the child who is the bully. This only tells us that bullying can lead to difficulty that a certain children may experience and will have either short or long term problem. “Bullying has long been tolerated as a rite of passage among children and adolescents, but it has lasting, negative consequences and cannot simply be ignored.” Committee chair Frederick Rivera, MD.
Bullying in Schools What seems fun and harmless for some students, is painful and degrading to others. Bullying has been a critical issue around schools, but before it was not as dangerous and know as it is now. These do not means bullying was not happening, it means it was not taken into consideration by parents or teachers. They thought it was just peer pressure or a kids game, and sooner or later the kids would be friends again. At one point, bullies think it’s normal to be mean and abusive to other students.
• Remember that bullying is more about the insecurities of the bully than about what you do. • The target should recognize that it is the bully who has the problem and not himself, he can regain control of his own feelings. Embarrassment, shame and fear are all normal reactions, but remember that these emotions are often misplaced and that is how all abusers control and silence the victims. • Save everything in a log.
