Pick one theme and explain how Nijkamp portrayed this theme throughout the book and the message it portrayed. I think the them of bravery was present the most. I did not have any problems imagining the eye-rolls and hair flips that would go along with Kate’s “I can rule them all” attitude. With similar ways of thinking, Olivia and Kate develop a friendship that is muddled with manipulation and keeps the reader guessing who is playing into whose hand. At points I found their personalities amusing, much like the dramatic flair displayed by the characters in Pretty Little Liars, but at other points I was reminded that the characters fit many expected stereotypes. This includes Olivia’s parent-free penthouse that has a foreign housekeeper and cocktail of pills to help Olivia outside of therapy.

The secret life of Walter Mitty is a short story by James Thurber with a movie adaptation made in 2013; the movie adaptation is the clear better choice due to a multitude of reasons. This gives the audience an interesting subplot and gives Walter an objective. Walter is in love with his co-worker Cheryl and has frequent daydreams about her and wants her to like him.
To me the best theme in the story is friendship. I believe that every person needs to show friendship to
Humor in Borders Thomas kings book, Borders, is one of many popular books he published that took place between the American and Canadian borders at Coutt. Throughout the book, the main character, the mother from Blackfoot is denied entrance multiple times from the Canadian and American borders. She refuses her citizenship being American or Canadian instead she insists on being Blackfoot , Despite the young boy and mother being sent back and forth between the borders for 2 days ,however there was always small moments that made the story that much better instead of being boring . King gives the story a light relaxing tone, by telling it through the young boy.

At the beginning of “Horses of the Night,” the narrator, Vanessa notices that Chris looks completely oblivious towards Vanessa’s Grandfather’s belligerence, as he is displaying “no sign of feeling anything.” This is the first sign Laurence provides about Chris escaping in order to cope with reality. Next, when Vanessa visits Shallow Creek she comes to a realization that most of the stories Chris has shared with her about the farm, only exists “in some other dimension.”
