In the end the war ended with the North winning because the South basically went bankrupt and almost all men died. The reconstruction era after the civil war is basically rebuilding and brings back together the south because it was left in ruins, With the reconstruction came many rules such as leaders in the south were not allowed to public office, Northern soldiers supervised the south instead if the soldier of the south, Also many Northerners moved to the South during the reconstruction era which was known as carpetbaggers and they took advantage which upset many southerners. Due to the reconstruction, there were no laws, all banks were ruined, and rival money was basically worthless. Towards the end of the war, the Southerners’ passed “Black Codes” which is basically a law that wanted to limit the freedom for the African Americans.

In the 1870s fights broke out, people were murdered, and the country was in chaos. It left us wondering who's to blame for the end of Reconstruction? After the Civil war slaves became freedmen but they didn’t have rights. An era called Reconstruction by historians began. Some people supported it.

The Reconstruction was unsuccessfull because of some important reasons. First, the South was still aracist part of the United States because they created the Jim Crow Laws, what means that the people who lived and administratedthe South were not intelligent. The second example is that Abraham Lincoln, who started and incentivated the Reconstruction, was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth, so it made the Reconstruction process to be less efective. Finally, the last problem was the Solid South, it is a name that the South recieved because it was a solid white, solid racist and solid Democrat, what means that they were not able to support black people. Concluding, all of these examples shows why the Reconstruction was unsuccessfull

After the Civil War, repairment of the North and the South was much needed. Reconstruction was the solution to this problem. Reconstruction both succeeded and failed in many ways. First, the successions of the Reconstruction greatly affected the lives of many in the states, especially slaves. The government outlawed slavery in all states with the 13th Amendment, freeing slaves from bondage.

Thoughtlessness from the North: How the Reconstruction Plans Backfired Reconstruction? More like deconstruction. The reconstruction from the Civil War was a complete failure. It was more of a hindrance than a help. From the Lincoln plan to the Johnson plan, and even the Congressional plan was an utter abomination for the North and even the African Americans.

After the Civil War the era of the Reconstruction began with the 13th Amendment which President Abraham Lincoln's announced as the Emancipation Proclamation in 1883. The 13th Amendment was a huge deal because it eliminated slavery and obligatory servitude. After Lincoln's assassination in April 1865 his successor Andrew Johnson became the 17th president. He also was the first president to be impeached, but he was not removed from office he only served one term from 1808-1875. Despite the initiation of the reconstruction president Andrew Johnson was not a supporter of the Republican Party which most of them come from the northern states.

In 1865 The North was amazingly prosperous, with a booming economy and a large amount of supporters there was no way The South could keep up. The South lay in ruins and the population dwindled with the shortage of food, shelter and clothing. The Reconstruction was necessary to help rebuild and reunite the nation, the Government at the time sought out ways to help southerners and give slaves more rights. During the Reconstruction African Americans where given freedom to vote, now making up the majority of Republican voters. Some historians group the Reconstruction and “Black Supremacy” together due to the growth of African Americans serving in office.

After the Civil War the South was left in ruins. The Confederacy made a vast amount of changes to their governments. Therefore, their loss to the Union left the South with no dependable governments or reliable leaders. Lincoln needed to rebuild and reconstruct former Confederate states, in order for them to be re-admitted to the Union. Without reconstruction the South’s economy and productivity would have disintegrated and values for the products coming from the South would deteriorate.

Could you imagine having to go to a separate bathroom or use a separate water fountain just because of your skin color? What about not being able to go to school and get the education you need to become successful just because your skin was not white? How would you feel if you were restricted to do many things just because of the way you look? Well in the late 1870's and early 1880s, Jim Crow laws were enforced in the south. This allowed segregation to be legal between African American people and white people.

Who killed Reconstruction: The North or South? Following the civil war, the south killed the reconstruction of the United States. (Reconstruction was putting the country back together after the Civil War) There are many reasons why, the south slowed down the reconstruction of the United States, the main reason was freedmen were not seen as equals to the white.

The rebuilding of the south after the civil war was called the reconstruction. It lasted for 12 years. During that time, southern economic has dropped drastically and slaves in the south had to wandered in the streets. The purpose of reconstruction was to get the states who seceded back to the union, rebuild south and also ensure black rights and protection. Even though most people were unhappy with the south and wanted them punished, others wanted to rebuild.

During the civil war, many Americans lost and risked their lives to fight for their beliefs, emancipating the slaves or the White supremacy. The civil war resulted with the freedom of slaves and the period of Reconstruction (1865-1877). The Reconstruction tried to solve the problem of what would happen to the freed men and how the government would reintegrate the Southern States into the Union. Both of the said events caused social, political, and economic changes to American society.

By the implementation of the inferiority among black people compared to their white counterparts, instilled a vitriol that was and still is extremely devastating to a more equal future. Shortly following the civil war, the south being bitter in the aftermath of surrender, took it among themselves to create the segregation laws. Laws that came to be known as the incredibly devious Jim Crow laws. These insidious Laws were enforced by the former Confederate southern states, which began in the late 1870's and early 1880's, that actually made it legal to segregate blacks from whites. The Jim Crow laws confined legal rights of black people to be designated their own colored public facilities, as well as their schools, even to water drinking fountains.

The American civil war led to the reunion of the South and the North. But, its consequences led the Republicans to take the lead of reconstructing what the war had destroyed especially in the South because it contained larger numbers of newly freed slaves. Just after the civil war, America entered into what was called as the reconstruction era. Reconstruction refers to when “the federal government established the terms on which rebellious Southern states would be integrated back into the Union” (Watts 246). As a further matter, it also meant “the process of helping the 4 million freed slaves after the civil war [to] make the transition to freedom” (DeFord and Schwarz 96).

Reconstruction is the time period after the Civil War, where the country attempted to improve the Union. There were many successes, but what also comes along with success is failure. During the reconstruction many failures were present; such as the lack of racial equality and blatant racism towards blacks, a failing economy in the South, and tense relations between the North and the South. This created a very intense and challenging period of time for the Union.
