5.1 Reflective practice
One major skill a person must improve to get the most from their studies is continuously reflecting on their work activities, as part of actively analysing, reviewing and improving performance, satisfaction and results. Fused with an individual new academic skill this reflection will inspire a person to alter their practices inside a workplace, hence developing an individual personal performance, as well as the overall performance of the organisation. A person will definitely be using critical reflection even if this has been concealed up until this point (Helyer, 2010, 21-22). David Gray stated reflecting continuously and usefully as a process which cause the growth of a dynamic synergy and dialectic between academic

This inventory uses the learning in one of for styles which are (Helyer, 2010, 67):
• Accommodator which is an individual using the concrete experience and active experimentation (Helyer, 2010, 67).
• Converger which is an individual using the abstract conceptualisation and active experimentation (Helyer, 2010, 67).
• Assimilator which is an individual using the abstract conceptualisation and reflective observation (Helyer, 2010, 67).
• Diverger which is an individual using the concrete experience and reflective observation (Helyer, 2010, 67).
Honey and Mumford’s learning style theory: Another model a manager can use to overcome their issue is Honey and Mumford’s learning style theory. Peter Honey and Alan Mumford established four individual learning styles. These four learning styles are having an experience, reviewing the experience, concluding the experience and planning the next steps. They adapted Kolb’s ideas and further improve their own model for evaluating learning styles. The learning styles are mostly used in the educational field, with the aid of Peter Honey and Alan Mumford learning style questionnaire. The questionnaire is different from Kolb’s inventory due to it asking an individual to consider work related behaviours instead of deciding how to learn (Helyer, 2010,
AVID is a program not intended for everyone. This program exposes you to a variety of skills and mastery for adolescents desiring to attend college. Avid focuses around organization, teamwork, and for you to critically think. These skills are new to many and are provenly beneficial, however these skills do not favor those that have already had these skills and are show casing their full potential. Therefore, Avid is not for me since it interferes with my academic courses, mastery of avid skills and would not be beneficial for me because I have gained much of the skills and would rather interfer than assist.
In this booklet we want to challenge you to think about reflective practice and how you might use reflective practice in your workplace to improve the way you practice, your working relationships and ultimately achieve better outcomes for you and the young children you work with. We all reflect but in different ways and about different things. Often the reflection provides the “story of the day” that we may muse overby ourselves or tell a sympathetic ear, but ultimately the “story of the day” we want others
• What new insights have you gained on your Commentary topic throughout the process of drafting, researching, and revising? Did your point of view change at all? If so, how or why? I gained a lot of information about Common Core through my research, drafting, and the writing process for my Commentary essay. I learned about how Common Core was drafted and how many groups were involved in the writing development.
Chapter 2 Friendship in Saint Augustine ‘s Philosophy A. Augustine on Friendship: Being with others or having friends has an influential character in determining one’s individual. As a social being man who knows to identify the needs of others, surrounds himself with the help of friends. Meanwhile human relationship and interface is multifaceted and very wide to define, philosophers even from the very beginning have continually tried to widen their horizon with regards to knowledge of friendship. Augustine in his famous work Confessions, discussed and sightsaw the deeper meaning of friendship.
The freewriting assignment was like a diary for me. I spent most of my time writing about what was going on during that day or what ever was on my mind. To be honest, I felt a little weird just knowing that someone was reading them. I really didn’t hold back when I was writing at all. I said what was on my mind at that moment in time.
Learning Styles are personal qualities of an individual which helps to learn more effectively in an environment suitable to learning style. Various learner style models are available that can be used to identify the learner style. Visual and Verbal are the important learning style when it is related to web based learning environment in which contents are presented in written text, images, graphs, audio, animations, video etc. format. Most of the eLearning Systems tries to tackle all the learning styles. In a web based environment visual and verbal contents are presented to the learner.
Introduction: Reflection is a part of daily process of learning and thinking. As stated by Jasper, (2003), the reflection is “…the way that we learn from an experience in order to understand and develop practice”. It is useful in dealing with challenges and can be used as a tool for personal and professional development. Moreover, a convoluted process of writing experiences and learning from any event and understanding of its usefulness in future is, defined as Reflective writing. The theoretical model which is often used as a framework for reflective writing was created by Professor Graham Gibbs (1988) and is known as Gibb’s reflective cycle.
There are many ways to learn but the three main ways are auditory learning, visual learning, and kinesthetic learning. I conducted an interview with two college students, one majoring in English, and the other majoring in nutrition on their views concerning learning styles. Both interviews we’re conducted on April 21, 2016. One was face to face, and the other was done through text. It was easier to conduct the interview through text rather than face to face.
But put simply reflection is merely a process to; help us understand the links between what we do (what we can call our practice) and how we might improve our effectiveness (by developing our practice) (Ghaye, Tony 2010) Reflection was first introduced to me through the Microteaching facility. Here the reflection is based on three ten minute lectures, and incorporates personal, peer and expert
2.2.2 Learning Styles Various methods to learning are related with the phases of the learning cycle. (Kolb,1984) observed the four stages of learning style which are concrete experience (CE), reflective observation (RO), abstract conceptualisation (AC), and active experimentation (AE). The model gave the basis of Kolb Learning Style Inventory which measures a learner’s favourite for certain phases of learning. Due these, it is possible to identify four learning styles, Converger (AC/AE), Diverger (CE/RO), Assimilator (AC/RO) and Accommodator (CE/AE).
1. Being in the Division of Undergraduate Studies has been very beneficial and helpful in my academic career at Penn State so far. The most valuable aspect about it is the advisor’s imperativeness to give students the help they need to further explore their academic options. When I first came to Penn State, I had a goal of getting into the Smeal College of Business. Coming into such a big school and not knowing what I wanted to major in yet was very intimidating for me.
Honey and Mumford model: Honey and Mumford (1986) adopted Kolb 's model and created their own version. They renamed the "learning styles" as activist, reflector, theorist and pragmatist (Sarabdeen, 2013). Activists individuals enjoy new experiences, tend to make decisions intuitively, but they dislike structured procedures. Reflectors observe and describe processes, try to predict outcomes and try to understand meaning Theorists focus on ideas and systemic logic and are distrustful of intuition and emotional involvement. Pragmatists like practical approaches and debates, but they tend to avoid reflection and deep levels of understanding (Kappe, et al. 2009).
Throughout my years in school, I have always been genuinely interested in learning. Whenever I would hear something or read something that I didn't know before, it brought me enjoyment because it was lead me to ask questions. What could this mean for the future? How could I apply this to a subject completely unrelated to the information? What should I do with this knowledge?
Source: CIPD (2011) Part 2 (B) Learning Styles and Methods and Professional development Effective learning environment should involve the utilisation of critical learning skills such as critical thinking, ability to solve problems, conduct research and creative thinking (Lorenzo and Lorenzo, 2013). These skills enhance an effective learning experience for learners. Numerous learning styles exist that are crucial in the learning process. These styles form the basis for this analysis presenting the contrast between the various styles and methods.
There is a variety of ways to answer this question, so I am going to answer it in two ways. The first way I am going to answer it is “why am I here in Quincy”. Well for starters I am from Los Angles where I live in a city called West Covina. I heard about this school from my grandparents. They live in Greenville, which is a 30 minute drive from Quincy.
