I start this rhetorical analyses asking a simple question, is creative content everything? Netflix (on-demand internet streaming media service), an innovative service that allows people to watch movies, TV shows and cartoons in your TV at home or in your smartphone while you are in a bus or train for example, can quickly answer this question with a no. The article that bring these concerns and here in analysis is “Why Content Isn 't King: How Netflix became America 's biggest video service” written by Jonathan A. Knee. Addressing this issue the author brings up details on a topic that has affected directly good part of the population. My objective in this analysis is determine if the article influence and captive the attention of the
English 1010 was an amazing class, during the period that the class was going on I was able to develop my communication skills and become aware of the world around me and how individuals operate according to what the society wants from them. The English 1010 class helped in developing a new aspect of reasoning, analyzing and drawing adequate conclusion. Furthermore I was to know the kind of informations I can take in and avoid wrong assumptions. Most class assignment were based on distinct formats which was a little difficult for me in the beginning but eventually I was able to follow the procedures which help improve my grades in other classes too. We had a discussion on rhetorical analysis where we analyze the rhetorical strategy used, I

In Kurzweil’s The Age of Spiritual Machines, one of his main arguments is that one day, in the near future, artificial intelligence will exceed the intelligence of humans. He predicts this largely on the idea of the intelligence of evolution. It took evolution millions of years to make the human being that we are today and it only took humans a few thousand years to create technology. Since you are considered smarted if you are able to do something faster, humans are smarter then our creator, evolution.
1) I could not find a Thesis. Throughout the essay, he talks about how college-level writers can most times be boring and repetitive when it comes to their essays. 2) He says the first step is to write down the argument that comes to mind, but to not use it, because that’s probably what everyone else is going to write about. 3) He recommends avoiding obvious content, taking the less usual side and to always write everything as vigorously as possible.
In the article, “Some Teens Start College Work Early Via Dual Enrollment” written by Joanne Jacobs, from the U.S. News and World Report Education, discussed a current path that most high schoolers are taking that will lead them to college success. Jacobs uses ethos and logos to prove the successfulness of the Dual Enrollment Program. The program offers students the opportunity to experience college life, to gain both high school and college credit, and to gain confidence. In most states, high school students who want to take a college class need to attend the class in a community college with regular undergraduates.
A Dream for the Nation Michaelangelo Landgrave and Alex Nowrasteh (2017), a doctoral student in political science and an immigration policy analyst, argue in their informative article The DREAMer Incarceration Rate that DREAMers are less crime-prone than Native-born Americans. Landgrave’s and Nowrasteh’s (2017) purpose is to insist that Congress should expand the parameters of a future legalization for DREAMers. They employ logos, ethos, as well as juxtaposition, in order to convey to their readers the idea that DREAMers are less crime-prone than Native-born Americans. In their article, Landgrave and Nowrasteh (2017) employ the use of credibility of the speaker.
Giving a speech whether being for the public or not, offers personal, professional, and public benefits for the individual. The individual might find it easier to obtain a profession, build better relationships amongst peers, or even propel social movements by carefully constructing and delivering a well thought out speech. A speech needs to be excellent in order to do such things; it needs to have a clear concise thesis, a preview statement, a great organizational pattern, supporting material, memory, delivery and good representation of oneself. Thus, during the process of constructing and delivering a speech, one must have those aspects. This will ensure the speaker will deliver a powerful and moving speech.
For this rhetorical analysis essay I decided to reflect upon the somewhat recent documentary titled “The Social Dilemma”. From gen-zians to baby boomers, this film was dedicated to educating people on the impact of social media on today’s society as we have entered a tech-frenzy world. Just like many other people, I wanted to see what the craze was about when this film was produced back in 2020. From interviews with former tech company employees to societal examples, Jeff Orlowski used various rhetorical strategies to convey an important message within his world-famous film. Growing up during a time where social media was just developing and kids weren’t glued to their iPad’s, I have very clearly noticed the effects social media has had on,
The Weapon of Knowledge Mary Shelley, in her gothic novel Frankenstein (, conveys that the thirst for knowledge can often be more dangerous than rewarding through her vivid depiction of her characters and plot. Shelley supports her conveyance by first giving thorough descriptions of her characters to show their changes throughout the novel, then eloquently using literary devices such as similes and metaphors to strengthen the tone of the novel, and lastly by dramatically exhibiting the effects of her characters' actions on themselves as well as those around them. Shelley’s purpose is to get the reader thinking about the power and dangers of knowledge while providing a simply entertaining story on the surface. Shelley utilizes a tragic tone
Past leaders such as Andrew Jackson, Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, and Marc Antony are evidence that society does not reward morality and good character in leadership. Society is drawn to leaders that have good rhetoric, propaganda, and charismatic personalities, and society supports them despite their immorality. Society is concerned about stability more than the morality of their leaders and will support immoral leaders in times of crisis to provide stability. In history there have been multiple leaders that have used rhetoric, propaganda and charismatic personalities to gain power, despite their morals.
In “A Raisin in the Sun” by Lorraine Hansberry, the author uses diction like abstract diction and details by explaining what he exactly wants in life to demonstrate Walter and his dream. To begin, Hansberry uses diction to demonstrate Walter and his dream by using abstract diction. She does this by explaining how he will give Travis anything for his seventeenth birthday and that he will “hand you the world!” (2.2). This shows that he wants to make his sons life as good as possible.
Political ads are a way to persuade you to vote for one political party or the other. Every 4 years, there is an election between democrats and republicans that will help decide the next president of the United States. These campaigns between the democrats and the republicans are the strategies candidates use to win your vote. During the election season, there is many speeches made by both the people who are running for president. Debates between the two sides can sway your vote to one side or the other depending on what the candidates say.
I am analyzing The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera. Kundera used many objects to symbolize things in The Unbearable Lightness of Being, one of them being what Kundera calls shit. Kundera used shit to represent things such as dignity, vulnerability, and individuality. Kundera also uses shit to bring up moral questions. We can see an example of this when Kundera tells us about Stalin’s son, Yakov.
The media text being investigated is Dexter; a television series based around a blood splatter analyst Dexter Morgan. The series follows his career by day and his killing addiction by night. My argument will focus on how this text creates an ‘active’ response from its audience. The key concept under investigation is the audience, in relation to the ways that they’re impacted. For this I will explore my chosen concepts in conjunction with the media text itself, followed by a conclusion to summarise my argument.
Argumentative Research Paper Research Plan 1. My argument for this essay is that American Copyright law is stifling creativity within the video entertainment industry. I picked this topic because I see many promising projects within video streaming sites like YouTube drop because of micro infringements of intellectual property. This halts innovative content from spreading to the public and sometimes even collapses entire channels that do not intend to plagiarize content. This leaves channels to either terminate or pay for royalties.
