The well known and thought by many to be the best runner in the world Usain Bolt once said ,”Shoot for what you want, not what they want.” Usain Knows what he 's talking about. He has ran in the Olympics and received gold medals many times. He had no one that told him to shoot high. He learned this himself and applied it to full effect. People should always set their mark as high as they want because it feels good to work hard, there is beauty in trying, and if one shoots high and misses no one can say anything bad about them. To introduce, it feels good to work hard no one should change their goals for others. Those who work hard to achieve their goals will be rewarded for their efforts with results. With results comes growth not only toward their goal, but as a person. Failure is not the worst thing that has ever happened. Failing first before achieving something makes it that much greater. There is nothing better than achieving something highly sought after. …show more content…
Knowing that you have given one hundred percent is a feeling like no other. After giving it one hundred percent and falling just short, there is nothing to do but brush the dust off. Being brave in the face of opposition is the most admirable thing one can learn to do. Giving one hundred percent, failing, and being able to brush the dust off will make a much stronger person than those that chose to throw in the towel or that just stayed home. Also, some people may think that everyone should aim low because the goal will be easier. However, this claim is invalid because nothing good will from achieving an easy goal. In fact the negatives of achieving an easy goal are more numerous than most people would think. If one shoots low the first time and achieves their goal they are much more likely to shoot even lower the next time. This is a vicious cycle that will continue to become
Not trying at something is worse than failure. I agree with this because you never know what you are capable of, and failure can help you get better. To start off, in the start of The Earth on Turtle’s Back written by an anonymous source, showed somethings that demonstrate determination. “I will bring up earth or die trying.” Said the muskrat (para 13).
If it is unobtainable, make it obtainable. If your goals are too difficult to reach, that's okay, just make them more manageable. If everything has been tried in order to achieve a certain goal but still no cigar, just devalue whatever it is and forget about it. In a nutshell, this is what Stanford professor Bernard Roth preaches in the first chapter of his book The Achievement Habit. In order to persuade his audience, Roth utilizes rhetorical appeals such as: logos, ethos, a and pathos, but does so rather ineffectually .
But, he then realizes that even a little success is more important than failure today.
Trying can bring us big opportunities in our lifes. Third of all, we shoulf have faith in our
In conclusion, without failure and staying enthusiastic when we fail, there would be no success. Therefore, I agree with Winston Churchill that failure is a key part of success. If you keep your enthusiasm high even when you fail multiple times you will eventually have success.
We have all encountered some degree of failure in our lives, some worse than others. No one is or ever will be a perfect human being. Failure is certain in our lives among all questionable events. Times of failures are events we can learn from even in the smallest ways. Whether it be a failing grade, not making a sports team, or not winning a game, there is always a lesson to be learned.
When you think of success what comes to mind? In sports it’s making it to the pros. In business it’s making your first million. In high school it can be as simple as acing that test you studied for all night. No matter what profession you are in, success is the desired goal.
A quote from Outliers says, “Practice isn't the thing you do once you're good. It's the thing you do that makes you good.” This quote shows that to reach success you must put effort into what you do. It matters because putting effort into something makes it worth it. If you don't try and learn from the process you haven’t grown in experience, so you haven’t grown much at all.
Ultimately, it's important to strive towards achieving the things you desire. Success often comes to those who put in the effort and work toward their purpose. In
Have your parents ever made you buy something you wanted with your own money? I know my parents have. I remembered last year I really wanted to get a new Lacrosse helmet. My dad said if I wanted to get the helmet, I would need to buy it with my own money. So my dad and I made a deal.
Many individuals experience different amounts of failure in their lifetimes. Many learn and grow from their defeats and others let it keep them from succeeding. I made sure that failure was another obstacle to success. Icons like Randy moss didn’t let failure get the best of him when he didn’t make the freshman high school football team, and look at him now, he is one of the best Football players of all time.
Numerous people throughout history have failed or dropped out and have came out on top. These individuals learned more lessons failing than they did succeeding. Which is the reason Zinsser ensures people “failure isn’t fatal” (Zinsser 602). Informing readers failure isn’t automatically bad and succeeding isn’t immediately good (Zinsser 603). Still believing succeeding is better than failing but tells how it is okay to fail.
Just because you fail once, doesn’t mean you just stop and give up, you try harder the next time to accomplish your dreams and it could lead you to a successful
Yes, it is worth it to dream. Dreams are goals that you want to achieve. Sometimes it takes a lot to reach your dreams, and sometimes you don’t exactly get what you were hoping for. But either way, it’s always worth it to take the chance. This essay is going to be about why.
I am a firm believer in achieving my goals because I know that they will reflect on my future. At times, I may fail but I do not let that stop me from trying. Instead, I let it teach me a lesson and push myself even harder to do better the next
