My 295 experience has provided me with exceptional experiences that I can apply in any work setting. My internship during my first year of the MSW program was at the Transitional Community Opportunities for Recovery & Engagement (TCORE) while my second year placement was at the UC Davis Medical Center in the department of Clinical Social Services. This is very interesting to me because a lot of people equate poverty with neglect and this is not the case, just because you may be poor doesn’t mean that you are a neglectful parent, there are children that live below the poverty level and their parents love them and nurture them and care for them better than a child that lives in a million dollar home. So just because you have money it doesn’t necessarily mean that you are caring for your child, you may not clean or cook or know how to nurture your own child and that is a form of neglect.
