Having the knowledge of FLC gives me a foundation for understanding what typical issues stand out in each season of one's life. This helps me to pay special or extra attention to an individual's progress or stagnation in the area, how that presents symptoms in the client, and how it may impact their later growth or progression. For instance, the client is currently at Stage 2 but have yet to prepare to be a mother as she does not want to have any children after marriage. Therefore, she missed some tasks such as making space for children and joining in child rearing, financial and household tasks.
Dual relationships are a social worker’s interaction with a client outside of their professional role. The combining of roles often lead to conflicts of interest between the social worker and the client. Conflicts of interests arise when a Social worker's values oppose the morals of their clients. Furthermore, Conflicts of interest also appear when the social worker fulfills their own interest over the interests of their clients (Dolgoff, Harrington & Loewenberg, 2012). 1.01 of the code of ethics states that a social worker is responsible for the welfare of their clients.
Further, the principle of subsidiarity should be applied in the social work practices with the most affected members of the society. The central aspect of subsidiarity is the recognition of human dignity and every subject’s indisputable worthiness. Having this in mind, a social worker should consider his client as a human being in his totality (Petružytė, Girdzijauskienė, Gvaldaitė, 2004). If one follows this principle, he does not affect the dignity in the helping process; when the dignity is already affected or violated, he helps to restore it. Every individual feels a necessity for fulfilment and happiness – these are the main aspirations; all the rest of necessities are circumstanced by this aspiration (Vittadini, 1997).

Many challenges develop in the role that result in tensions and vice-versa. The main challenge affecting all social work areas at the moment is heavy workloads and lack of time; it has been found that most effective social work practise involves an on-going assessment and regularly checking in with clients. However, this cannot occur when social workers are under strain from the high number of cases they have on their shoulders.

In this news article Blow, 2016 has discussed some major issues about the men of color being killed by the police. Blow discusses the riots and protesting which come along with the killing of innocent men by the police. Blow raises a point about how we are no longer living in a society where we blindly accepted what the media informed us about and rather now we are living in a society where there are visual proof. He talks about how the media has portrayed black people and the kinds of choices they are forced to make. Blow makes an excellent point on how poor choices made in a bad environment have worse consequences than those who live in well settled communities.

I hope to provide support and medical social services to the elderly population. I realize that senior citizens sometimes struggle with unique age-related health issues and debilitating diseases that make it hard to pursue fully functioning lives. As a social worker I’d help elderly individuals and their families examine their needs, and determine how to make those things happen. The elderly sometimes also endure loss of family support, lack of mobility, depression, abuse and loneliness. I hope to address the daily battles facing our elderly by helping them maintain their independence and dignity.
The connections in the middle of law and social work practice are perplexing and challenged. In some national locales, law is seen as one of the center commands for social work. Rather than this accentuation on the centrality of law, others have guaranteed an alternate center order. This solid association discovers parallels in the different settings watching that all social work professionals must manage the law, legal counselors and legitimate frameworks. As opposed to this accentuation on the centrality of law, others are distinctive cases concerning moral obligation of consideration, in quest for which social laborers may utilize the legitimate structure as one of the instruments of their practice.
Considering that, the situation is difficult, as the object of social help is personality that is understood as a unique and solid system which is dynamic in itself. So the social worker in the process of social help encounters himself with the challenge to help a person to primarily restore his worthiness which would let him to solve his problems and not, conversely, resign and live with them. Yet the social work actually still impresses with its aspirations more than with concrete and tangible achievements or prestige (Kavaliauskienė, 2005). The objective of a social worker is noble, but often he confronts himself with unsolvable tasks. This situation raises because of the twofold orientation of social work: on one hand, it is directed towards a person, but on the other hand, to the society; that is, the direction goes towards a whole and towards its part – the community and the individual – by trying to reach their interaction and consistency.
Many social workers went from working in private agencies, to working with public agencies to help the people suffering from poverty. “1000 social workers took jobs in public sectors, they fought to train caseworkers and otherwise improve the public sector service”(Abramowitz, 1998, p.513.) Social workers as a change agent, aim to make a change and in this case, social workers were helping the people suffering from poverty. These challenges facilitate social workers to have an impact towards the people. This can also relate to person in environment, “Social workers realize that they must pay attention to the environment in which people live, and they work to change the environment so that if functions more effectively for individuals, families, and communities”(Segal, Gerdes, Steiner, 2014, p.7).
