I am writing to express my interest in applying for the Sophomore of the Year Award for the University of New England. Through my experience as a second year student at the University of New England, I have always been determined to be a leader to and a supporter of my peers. Some qualities that show that I am worthy of the Sophomore of the Year Award includes:
Leadership: While a student at UNE, I have dedicated most of my free time to the development of programs on campus such as UNE’s Crew Team, UNE’s Housing Staff as well as The USG Sophomore Class Representative. As a member of UNE’s Crew Team, I have encouraged 6 students who are only involved with one other club to join crew and stay active. Without a good amount of rowers, only a few of our 7 new boats would be filled. I am also a Resident Advisor in Feathermen for 2nd floor low side. As an RA, I work to enforce the rules, mediate disagreements, and provide general support for students. I also have helped led my

I have also acquired over 324 patient care hours as an employee of Providence Profession Ambulance and have also shadowed a number of MDs, PA’s and RNs in Rhode Island Hospital as an Intern. I have set my priorities to fall after my major in terms of time management and ability to maintain controls on my educational values.
Social Involvement: I am involved in a number of clubs on the UNE Biddeford campus. Some include InterVarsity, Pre-Physician Assistant Club, Ski & Snowboard Club, UNE Gamers, Intramural Sports, Outing Club, Pre-SOMA and RSLA. My involvement consists of constantly building the atmosphere of the club as well as attending at least one meeting every two weeks. I am currently in the process of getting students and staff involved with the new Beekeepers Club.
Thank you in advance for your consideration and I look forward to attending the ceremony on April
National Honor Society Application It is an honor to be selected as a candidate for the St. George’s National Honor Society. I have been working toward this opportunity for many years. I understand how many doors this will open for me by introducing me to better colleges, better jobs, and a better life. I believe I am fit for a position in this organization because I serve my community, exhibit leadership, and demonstrate outstanding character. My service hours will benefit my community and those around it.
Through the experience of working as youth leader for freshman connection I have grown as a better leader. To help incoming freshman was incredible experience for me. I joined freshman connection to serve school and defiantly to get knowledge and team building skills out of it, so that it can help me make my college experience better. I think I have achieved all the goals that I wanted to through working as youth leader. Additionally, not only that but also to work on community service project on bullying has really allowed me to serve as teacher helper.
Therefore, I would say that my most significant endeavor since attending GTCC thus far, was getting inducted into Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society, at present I also serve as Vice President for our colleges chapter Alpha Pi Alpha. Our chapter, Alpha Pi Alpha, designed and installed a bee pollination garden as a beautification project for GTCC, that would also benefit the environment. As research has presented there are many types of bees are becoming extinct. With the help and guidance, received from GTCC’s grounds crew, our chapter designed and built a beautiful walkway that is surrounded by plants that specifically attracted pollinator bees. Additionally, a large bee house was built then placed in the garden, which will function as a place for endangered bees to hibernate.
As a junior in high school, I was inducted into the National Honor Society for doing exceptionally well in my academic endeavors and actively participating in volunteer events. My contributions through this organization have made a significant impact on both my personal development and my community’s support services. The numerous volunteer projects in which I have participated have prepared me to continue helping others in the future. Through projects such as building houses from the ground-up with Habitat for Humanity, I have developed teamwork skills, discovered my management potential, and increased my social network, all while working to provide services for less fortunate individuals in my community. To be among the esteemed students who are being considered for the National Honor Society is a privilege in itself. To be a member of this society, one that prides itself in strong leadership, excellent character, and a dedication to service is increasingly desirable. This organization is known for recognizing students with exceptional grades and characters, and I hope to further the impression it has made, as I have worked diligently to stand out among my peers. I dedicate myself to my schoolwork, and I feel that my results are a reflection of that. Last trimester, I received a grade point average of 3.9.
Moreover, I have worked very hard throughout high school to better myself and those around me in the many ways mentioned above. I also serve as a role model, both inside the classroom and out, by pushing myself to accomplish goals even I do not always believe I could, always respecting others and listening attentively to the opinions of people around me, and making an effort to enrich the lives of others. I am hopeful the National Honor Society will help me develop this further, and thank you for taking hte time to read my application.
It is an extraordinary honor to be considered as a candidate for the National Honor Society. Being considered means I have achieved my goal in demonstrating my determination- in school and outside of school- and my willingness to aid people in my community. Being a part of such a prestigious organization is an enormous responsibility to which I will fully devote my time. Ever since I was a freshman, my goal was to work diligently to be among the highest scholars and to be accepted into this scholarly “hall of fame”. Through my relentless hard work and perseverance, I believe that I possess the four characteristics of a National Honor Society member- leadership, service, character, and scholarship.
I am ready to board the ship, and set sail – pointing towards a bright future of being an ECU pirate. Being admitted into the Honors College at ECU would be the catalyst to a successful future. As a high school senior, I am considering many universities and believe that being apart of the ECU community would allow me to reach my full potential. Growing up I have always set high standards for myself academically and extracurricularly. I participate in many clubs at my school including BETA club and National Honor Society.
There are many different things that can impact students in their high school years. Whether these things are friends, activities, or the sports they participate in they all impact the student. Many opportunities are presented to students in high school, although not many impacts the student beyond high school, I believe this opportunity will impact me forever. I would love to be a part of the Early College Program this coming spring. I believe the program will do nothing but help me grow and strive to be a better student and continue being involved.
I would like to thank you for considering me for National Junior Honor Society. It is a tremendous honor to be recognized for not only my academics, but also my leadership, service, citizenship, and character. Admittance into this club is something I would take great pride in and I will surely represent myself with the utmost class, dignity and respect that the club represents.
In the past few years, bees have become quite a topic of discussion. With the bee population in decline, people are concerned about future shortages of fruits and vegetables. While on a global scale bee populations are shrinking, they are quite popular on County College of Morris’ campus.
College is the perfect time for self discovery and figuring out a career path, and a liberal arts college education truly spoke out to me as an environment in which I could thrive in. Throughout my life, I have had many interests and have never wanted to devote all of my time to only one. With a liberal arts education, I can study across the curriculum and will easily have the option to double major or have minors. Coming into college undeclared, I want to leave plenty of room for exploration. Even though I may not know my specific major, I know that interacting with people is one of my strengths in which I’d like to pursue.
I am excited about this opportunity to be able to be in the classroom with children and see how this environment is. I am a sophomore majoring in elementary education with an area of concentration in math at Indiana University. I enjoy being around children and this experience allows me to do that, and also if I want to work in an educational environment. My previous experience with children includes working at the Boys and Girls Club and cadet teaching. I worked as a supervisor in the gym and game room at the Boys and Girls Club.
If you really knew me, you would know I’m an honest individual, so I’m going to say what’s on my mind and not hold back. The life of a high schooler is rough. Depressing, distressing and straight-up woeful. It is often said the time spent in high school is the greatest time of someone’s life. I’m four years into the high school experience, and I still can’t comprehend that statement considering all the fatigue and stress involved.
I know that my undergraduate experience will pave the way for my future success, so I hope to gain more qualities that will continue to assist me in achieving my future endeavors. One quality I hope to improve during my undergraduate-college experience is networking. Currently I attend a high school that is very small compared to other traditional schools. It is really easy for me to communicate with others around me including my teachers. I know that college will be different, due to the difference in size, so, I hope to build on my networking abilities by building relationships with my professors or seeking to participate in additional educational opportunities.
