The author Ronald Youngblood observed the preface of the Old Treatment in the book, The Heart of the Old Testament by demonstrating the basic outline of the Scriptures is to trace the development of certain key ideas from one end of the Bible to the other. This book serves a great purpose that lays out nine themes that constitute the heart of the Old Testament. The nine themes are monotheism, sovereignty, election, covenant, theocracy, law, sacrifice, faith, and redemption. We still have some believers that there is a higher power that exists. Muslim, Judaists, and Christians believe in the existence of one God also called Monotheism believe that is only a single God who created the heavens and the earth and all the things on it. On the other hand, Polytheism believes in many Gods, and we have the naysayers that are referred to as Atheists they believe in no God (evolution). In this week's reading of The Whole Message of the Bible in 16 Words by Chris Bruno, we were assigned to read the first two sections, the foundation and the frame. In the first section of his book, Bruno talks about the foundation of the Bible in two key words: The End and God. In the second section, he talks about the frame: creation, covenant, and kingdom. The first section of the book, Bruno focuses on the foundation on which the entire Bible is built: The End and God.
In the history of the hebrews the religion has displayed a remarkable adaptability and continuity. Starting when God flooded the world and spared nobody but Noah and his family, when God had Abraham leave Mesopotamia and settle in the land of the Canaanites, And when God had Moses lead his people out of slavery and into the promised land. All of these points change the face of the Hebrew culture and their religion. The Hebrews history was remarkable which they managed to survive as people and as a culture. From the Hebrews point of view the whole purpose was to illuminate their relationship with God When God was in the picture with the Hebrews things became different, God did not allow more than one god which is called monotheism.

As the title boasts it is used as an introduction textbook for scholars studying the New Testament.
In chapter 3 of Speaking of Jesus, Carl Medearis talks about what it means to own Christianity. He says "If we don't truly know what the gospel is, we have to find an explanation for Christianity." Meaning that if we do not know what the gospel is or what it is teaching us, then we try to define it by our own standards, and that is where it gets messy. Medearis talks about how Christianity is more than a religion, but it is a relationship and people tend to not understand that. He explains why people are so defensive and put up their guards towards Christians, because Christians can be so judgemental.
Misquoting Jesus In one of his best-selling book, Misquoting Jesus, Dr. Bart Ehrman, a well-known and respected New Testament professor and critic, seeks to show that the New Testament is a corrupt document changed through evolutionary processes of scribal adjustment, early Christian theological apologetics, as well as poor scholarship. Ehrman is able to make textual criticism an argument because the study of the text has shaped his life into the person he is today. In the introductory section of the book, he explains his story. After his transformation as a young man, he studied at the Moody Bible Institute, Wheaton College as well as Princeton Theological Seminary.

“[The slave trade] is one of history’s most horrific chapters, showing the human capacity for both cruelty and insensitivity [as well as] strength and survival,” says The Middle Passage by Recovered Histories. In his narrative, Equiano discusses the miseries of the slave trade. Specifically in this section, the Middle Passage is told from his first-hand account. Several horrific facts have been revealed about the slave trade since slavery was dissolved over a hundred and fifty years ago. There are several stark, horrific facts about the Middle Passage which are revealed through historic facts as well as Equiano’s narrative.
Belief in a Supreme High God, who created the world and then withdrew from active participation in it, is common in polytheistic religions around the world. Beyond all minor gods, goddesses, spirits and ancestors, there exists one High God, who created and in some sense still governs the universe. Most believe that this God is too distant and has limited contact with daily operation of human life. Native Americans and Africans have similar concepts of the high god. African and Native American religions recognize the presence of one supreme deity as well as the existence of God in multiple aspects.
This is knowledge which grants eternal happiness and meaning cannot be philosophized by the castaway; it must arrive in the form of news, which is the Absolute Paradox. By faith, this news must be heard and heeded. The Christian faith is neither knowledge nor science nor a “miraculous favor which allows one to… believe the impossible” (146). Faith is a form of communication from God, which is delivered by an apostle whose message, while transcendental and paradoxical, is believable and necessary. Jesus, who comes to bring news across the seas does so with authority and steadfastness to the point of martyrdom.
Given the vast number of issues that Zoroastrianism, Judaism, and Christianity share, it is not contestable that there must be clear connection between them. The Pharisees, Sadducees, and Herodians were the principal political/religious groups who held authority and power over the Jews during the time of Jesus. Jesus repeatedly warned His disciples to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, the Sadducees, and of the Herodians. In using the word “leaven”, Jesus is essentially warning His disciples to beware of the corrupted teachings and doctrines of these leadership groups. Despite the teachings and doctrines of the Pharisees and Sadducees being quite different, and the Herodians being more of a political party, these leadership groups were all united in opposing the claims of Jesus. This essay intends to expound upon what exactly the teachings and doctrines of these groups were.
Christianity explains salvation as redemption by God’s grace through faith from unrighteousness and sins to Cleanliness, also known as Salvation. The Bible explores salvation in different perspectives including reconciliation, redemption, ransom, forgiveness, and justification. Even though the Bible is a unitary book, the new and the old testaments present salvation in different aspects. However, the different aspects are complementary. In fact, the Old Testament presents many prophesies about salvation that was fulfilled in the New Testament (Kärkkäinen 87).
