Ted Bundy, born Theodore Robert Cowell, was a sinister serial killer. He is a white male who started his killing rampage around age 28, with an IQ of about 123. He showed no remorse for his crimes and committed them over and over. His case paved the way for novels and films about serial killers. Bundy had a condition known as Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD) which is what made him such a successful killer. It prevented him from feeling sorry for his victims. This along with his charm and intelligence helped him stay out of the crosshairs of the law for so long.
When Bundy was born, his mother was unmarried and her parents were very religious. To keep out of trouble, she had her grandparents raise him as their adopted son. In this way, Bundy’s mother was his “sister”. At a very young age, Bundy was interested in death and injury. He also became very interested in knives. For example, he was going to a courthouse and he jumped out a window to escape! Another time he was in prison and he made a hole in the ceiling and had to lose 30 pounds to fit through! The police didn’t know he was missing for 15 hours. However, he was caught 8 days later. Bundy fought for his own life in court, taking on the role of his own lawyer. He could not escape his fate though. He was charged with murder and rape on multiple accounts, and also faced many death penalties. He was executed in the electric chair where his chilling last words were, “I’d like you to give my love to my family and friends.” People were cheering when he was executed. Of course since he had ASPD, he felt no remorse for his crimes. He was very violent in his crimes, which makes this more unbelievable.
