Censorships is harmful to people when it comes to communicating with each other which is demonstrated by Bradbury in Fahrenheit 451. People in the society do not communicate with each other like that use to. Certain cities must create an insurance policy and warning for artists because so many people destroy their work. It is terrible that for someone to express their art freely they must have it extra protected and insured. First we should define censorship in order to discuss its effects and purposes. The Oxford English Dictionary defines censorship as, “The suppression or prohibition of any parts of books, films, news, etc. that are considered obscene, politically unacceptable, or a threat to security.” In this case we are mostly concerned with the censorship of “politically unacceptable” literature. As reviewed in class, many adult Americans used to think that Rock and Roll and it’s exponents were a “bad influence” to teenagers back on the days. It is important to point out that many social changes on that time were a result of sociocultural modifications around authority figures like the government, parents, school authorities, etc. With the influence of Rock and Roll, people started to question topics like: religion, politics, social structures and sexual statements and teens showed attitudes against any form of authority that tried to control them. After World War II, adolescents showed more violent attitudes against social statements at that time.

The idea surrounding censorship should not be avoided since it can give readers a better understanding of the consequences that comes with it. Avoiding the discussion surrounding censorship can leave a negative impact on people, especially young teenagers. Banning the book is similar to censorship as both prevent readers from viewing a published medium or book. This limits one 's construction of knowledge, ideas, and imagination.

Over the years rap culture has changed from being motivational to a negative industry. The more time teens spend watching videos put them further at risk as they are more likely to engage in careless or in some cases illegal activities.
