Unstructured Interview Essay

Wednesday, September 1st, 2016 at approximately 12:58 p.m., I Detective L. Donegain conducted a noncustodial interview of Miguel Lonnell Manchion (black male, 6/2/1976 of 1207 Southwood Drive, Fayetteville, North Carolina 28304 (910) 364-1330). The interview was conducted at the Police Administration Building. The interview was audio and video recorded and is contained in the case file. The interview was transcribed by Speak Wright and is contained in the case file. The following is a summary of Miguel Manchion’s interview: - Miguel Manchion stated Derrick Robinson aka D-Rock girlfriend Emily had a party at her place earlier in the evening.

You Can Go Home Again Analysis From pages 495 to 497 author Eve Tushnet wrote an essay titled “You Can Go Home Again.” This essay was about how it is okay to go home and live with one’s parents again if someone is older. First the essay brought up the opposition and what people think about when someone lives with their parents. The essay also brought forth different data and studies about older people that live at home. After that, the essay brought up good points about what living with one’s parents can do for them.

This years cross country went off pretty well if you ask Harrisburg cross country runner Alexander Auch, If you ask him he will tell you that his favorite part of the season was watching his teammates improve and grow as a better runner and placing top 10 in just about every race and getting first in Brookings with a time of 16:40.66 and getting second as a team. Alex isn 't sure yet what he will do running wise after High School but he says if he get the opportunity to run in college he will take it and run with it. He will also say that he is exited for next year and looking forward to it he was been running all winter inside and out and don 't be surprised when you see him in the summer out there because the Harrisburg team has a summer

The three careers I chose to examine were IT Security Administrator, Forensics Investigator, and Obstetrician Gynecologist. I chose these careers because I discovered that the employment rates for these jobs are expected to grow at a faster than average 37% from 2012-2022. This is because data security threats are growing and with more digital technology rising, more organizations have become victims of cyber crimes. The other career is what I want to be. Internet Security Administrators, also known as computer security specialists, or Internet security specialists, protect computer systems against attack.

Seeking religious freedom, more land and more raw materials, the Pilgrims from England set on a voyage to a new world. Arriving to a land already inhabited by Native Americans, the pilgrims were unwelcomed. Overcoming the differences and finding peace between each group, the Natives helped the Englanders prosper. The inference people can assume is from the numerous times Native Americans are mentioned in early American history such as “Of Plymouth Plantation” and “The Constitution of the Iroquois Nations” that the foundation of America began with the help of Natives. The Constitution of the Iroquois Nations was an inspiration for the American constitution.

Growing up in a Christian household has nurtured my walk with God throughout my life. Since a young age, I have known God as my personal savior, but my faith and trust in Him have grown over the past several years. This past summer, I took part in a worship leader internship program at our church, which provided me with the opportunity to plan and lead worship services. Participating in this program helped me grow closer to God, but it also taught me how to be a leader rather than a follower. As God continues revealing His plan for my life, I feel called to attend Verity and to pursue my passion with a career in law enforcement.

Introduction Motivational interviewing is a collaborative, person-centred form of communication which focuses on the language of change. ‘It is designed to strengthen personal motivation for and commitment to a specific goal by eliciting and exploring the person’s own reasons for change within an atmosphere of acceptance and compassion’ (Miller et al., 2013, p.29). The technique of motivational interviewing was developed by two psychologists, Bill Miller and Steve Rollnick. Motivational interviewing is therapeutic to patients as it is based on a partnership, rather than a nurse-patient relationship (Heckman et al., 2010). There are four processes of motivational interviewing; engaging, focusing, evoking and planning.

Ever since grade school, I was passionate about working in the field of medicine, and science. I enjoyed anatomy, medical spelling and terminology, and reading about the healthcare industry. Because of my passion for healthcare, I decided to to attend Health Sciences High. There, I was given the best opportunities, such as, medical internships and college health courses. My plans and goals had turned me into a mature young adult.

Case summary Sharon is a 48-year-old Caucasian women. She has good overall physical health although, suffers from back and knee pain relating to obesity. She identifies as a lesbian and is married to her wife Lynn ”. The couple rent a two-bedroom apartment which they share with 12 cats. Sharon is a highly educated woman who has earned her Masters of Social Work.

“Paranoia is the belief that people are conspiring against you and deliberately trying to harm you” (Mirowsky, Ross 228). It is only natural for a man who had everything taken away from him to be wary of his surroundings, and find it difficult to trust anyone or anything. However, Chief’s association of the Nurse's station with a control panel that keeps the entire ward running, reveals his deepest layer of paranoia. Chief has always felt as though he was being controlled, and his paranoia regarding those running the ward shows readers that he does not trust them in any way.

Due to the structure in place by Nurse Ratched’s orders, all patients must participate in therapeutic meetings, where they have a group discussion with the nurse and Dr. Spivey. These discussions specifically target one patient where the others proceed to humiliate them. When Bromden narrates a meeting of this nature, Harding, another patient, is the one under harsh criticism, “The group is still tearing into Harding when when two o’clock rolls around” (Kesey 53). In the ward, the nurse has created an environment where the patients do not feel safe. She pits them against each other using methods such as the therapeutic meetings, which cause the patients to feel as though they cannot trust one another.

While I was searching for the college I wanted to begin the next part of my life in, I decided I wanted to attend an HBCU that was in a large city. Not only does Howard University fulfill both of these, but Howard also has all of my passions and interests in and outside of the classroom. I am interested in pursuing a Sociology degree within The College of Arts and Sciences. I want to organize my studies with a focus around the black community and urban development. The required and elective courses such as Problems in the Black Community within Howard’s Sociology curriculum will allow me to shape my classes to do this.

Introduction Psychological research and its findings have profound impact on people, relationships, and institutions in our society (Willig, 2013). However, as any other study, psychological researchers are faced with enormous limitations including inappropriate designs or methodologies due inadequacy of professionals (Wang, et al., 2015), geographical differences that impacts on generalizations (Smith, 2015), and time pressure that negatively affects the quality of a research (Punch, et al., 2014). Language barrier and lack of literature or poorly done review are other factors that affect psychological research (Willig, 2013). Limitations Limited number of professionals in the psychological research is one of the key limitations to this field of study. Psychological research depends on observations, experimentation, and evidence, hence the need for critical methodological designs (Shipman, 2014).

Being the clinician and conducting an intake interview was one of the most the practical, informative, and thought-provoking assignments I have completed throughout undergrad thus far. While allowing me to practice clinical interviewing skills, I learned how difficult yet essential various skills were in order to successfully complete an intake process. Specifically, I found taking a direct approach and asking specific questions was most successful. For example, with my client, Ian, I was able to find out the most relevant information about his manic tendencies through asking him specific questions. His intake form described having manic tendencies in the past, though there was not enough information there to really get to the core reason for

The writer had the pleasure of interviewing Mrs. Olaleye-Abner, a registered nurse at the department of behavioral health and developmental disability. She has been a nurse for 30 years and currently in the position as an RN supervisor. She works night shift starting from 11pm to 7:30am. The writer choose to interview her because of her wealth of experience in the nursing field.
