I feel vaccinations are very important for maintaining health, preventing the spread of whatever is going around, and are for the immune system’s ability to fight it. While maintaining health and the benefit of the immune system are similar, I assure you it will all make sense later. For now I truly wish you take the time to read this. I hope you find it very informative. First, vaccinations are important for maintaining your body’s overall health. The reason for this is that your body is already exposed to whatever is going around, therefor increasing your chance of not experiencing the full impact of it. An example of this would be a flu shot. The flu shots purpose is to get your body familiar with the flu so that when you get infected, …show more content…
The flu virus can spread through germs which can spread in a number of ways. This increases its ability to spread from one to another, keeping it alive and thriving. A vaccination would make your body familiar and in the chance that you do get it, it won’t be as bad and or last as long. This is important because time is something the virus needs because it takes time for it to set in and it takes time for it to spread. Last, the immune system’s ability to fight it. If you get the flu and you aren’t vaccinated, your immune system has to basically think on the fly. It has to try to figure out how to kill this before it kills you. Exposing it to the immune system while it’s dead gives the immune system the time it needs to figure out how to kill it without the chance of it killing you. When polio was an issue around the 1950s, Jonas Salk though of exposing the immune system to dead cells of it in order to decrease the number of polio cases. He tested it on his family and then different people and it did lower the number of cases. That is why vaccinations are important. They keep you and everyone around you healthy. I do hope I was able to explain why the immune system’s ability to fight was separate from the maintenance of your health in a coherent manner. I also hope you take this letter into
Influenza, “ has been described as the greatest medical holocaust in history” and may have killed as many people as the Black Plague”. This illness, (which originated from southeast asia) was obviously quite lethal, but nowadays we have an effective mean of defense, a vaccine, also known as the flu shot! Influenza is a virus that spreads in droplets caused by coughing or sneezing! It’s symptoms include fevers, chills, muscle aches, coughing, congestion, runny noses, headaches, and fatigue. If you notice that somebody has these symptoms don’t worry it’s not a life or death situation, however you might wanna stay away from them, it’ll save you a huge discomfort!
Every few years, the flu shot intensifies, increasing the risk of getting the flu. The flu vaccine is created to protect people from viruses, needle wounds, and deaths/hospitalization. People all around the world receive the flu shot to prevent them from getting the flu. According to the Centers for Disease Control And Prevention (CDC), vaccines change every year.
(1918 Influenza, Paragraph four). As the flu continued to spread more people got infected and died. It still was no concern to
Dear Editor, there are many reasons why it’s important to get vaccinated. One reason why it’s important to get vaccinated is because vaccines will keep your body healthy. Another reason why it’s important is because you put the health of other people at risk if you get sick. Lastly, it’s important to get vaccinated because you’re putting yourself at the risk of dying if you don’t. Vaccinations will keep your body healthy.
It allows your body to learn what they should fight against. However, the vaccine effects will not make you sick, since it’s not an alive germ. As the disease enters the body, it alarms the your defense system and starts to create antibodies to kill the germ. The vaccine strengthens your immune system, so a disease will never infect you even if you come in contact with someone who has one. Having a strong immune system is a crucial part to ensure your children are
Flu vaccines administered by nasal spray are made with an attenuated or weakened form of the flu vaccine virus. Both needle- and spray-administered vaccines cause antibodies to develop in the body about two weeks after administration. These antibodies protect against infection with the viruses that are in the vaccine. Which viruses are in the vaccine are determined by researchers who compile data on influenza trends around the world. Traditional flu vaccines protect against three viruses - an influenza A (H1N1) virus, an influenza A (H3N2) virus and an influenza B
The transmission of the flu can only happen within a certain time period. This time period is from when the virus enters the body to four to seven days after it leaves the body (“How Flu Spreads”), and symptoms will only show after one to four days from hen the virus enters the body (“How Flu Spreads”). This allows for a time period where the virus can spread but not show symptoms, so the host does not know they are spreading the virus. This helps spread the virus because when someone identifies an illness, they will usually stay inside and away from other humans, stopping transmission. This time period allows for the virus to be transmittable while the host has not isolated themself.
When the Spanish flu arrived in America there was an estimate of six hundred seventy five thousands death. The whooping cough has made appearances in America in 2010 and 2014. Whooping cough is another
Vaccines are able to prevent disease in a single child, but their usefulness to society lies in their ability to prevent outbreaks. Vaccines prevent disease through the concept of herd immunity. Herd immunity is the idea that a disease will have a harder time spreading if the majority of the population is unable to contract it (Martinez). For example, if more than 90 percent of people are vaccinated against measles, an outbreak is unlikely to happen even if a person in the community is infected (Oster).
1. Simply Put, the flu shot is an injection (shot) or nasal spray that contains a harmless amount of the virus, so that your body can build up antibodies against that strain of the flu. 2. Flu shots are important because they help protect you against Influenza, which is more commonly referred to as the flu.
Many people may think that vaccination is a bad thing, that instead of preventing it causes illness, that is not natural. Natural or not, there are many reasons as to why we should vaccinate us and the younger generation. Most of the time children don’t like vaccination because it hurt, but is the responsibility of a parent to seek the wellbeing of his or her child. Vaccination it’s a preventive measure of various diseases. Unfortunately, things like the anti-vaccination movement, the misinformation on the Internet, and the believe that vaccination causes more damage than is worth, have led our society to think that it’s right not to vaccinate.
There are some strains of influenza that escape the vaccination every year. Viruses are highly susceptible to mutations during replication, so these strains likely experience a mutation in either the hemagglutinin or neuraminidase at some point. This mutation alters the shape of these glycoproteins, causing the antibodies in the victim’s immune system to not be able to bind to the virus. This is usually where the seasonal flu virus comes from each year. New strains of influenza mutate all the time, causing all organisms vulnerable to become sick and start the process of developing new antibodies all over again.
Vaccinations can simply save lives. It gets the immune system stronger to prevent viruses to affect our body. Vaccines do not make the body sick. Although, they do put a tiny dose of the disease in the person to strengthen the immune system to prevent an attack of a stronger dose of the disease. It is better to not have to deal with the disease at all than trying to deal with it after you
Do you know why it is important to get children, teens, and adults vaccinated? Well I’ll let you know why it is important. The first reason why to get vaccinated is because you have a less likely chance to catch a disease. The second reason why it is important to get vaccinated is because a disease can turn into a worldwide epidemic. The last and third reason is so you can maintain a healthy life.
Vaccinations in children help prevent viruses and bacteria more than causing them. First off, what exactly is a vaccination? According to an article from familydoctor.org it states, “Vaccines contain weakened versions of a virus or versions that look like a virus (called antigens). This means the antigens cannot produce the
