I believe that I have been academically successful throughout my high school years. However, this success did not come naturally to me, it is something I had to work hard to achieve. Over many school years, I have worked to maintain high-grade marks and test scores. At Nicolet, I have maintained a 3.8 GPA in honors and accelerated placement classes. I am very proud of the academic accomplishments I have achieved through challenging myself with difficult courses and balancing my extracurricular activities. I am a member of several clubs and sports. The most demanding of these is hockey. Hockey is a very time-consuming sport that I have loved for all of my life. However, I have always told myself that I am a student first and that playing sports is a privilege. The numerous sports and clubs I have participated in have created relationships and memories that I will hold with me forever. Ultimately, One of the reasons I would appreciate becoming a member of the National Honor Society would be a recognition of my academic …show more content…
Through trial and error, I have learned how to effectively incorporate these values into my daily life, to be seen as an influential figure. My main area of leadership is through sports. I have coached kids in lacrosse and hockey youth programs and shown what it means to be a dedicated player at a higher level. Additionally, I have been a JV captain for sports such as volleyball and hockey. Through this position, I have been able to create a connection with younger teammates to make them feel comfortable and respected in a new environment. I believe that my character makes me a strong leader. Through my personal beliefs and morals, I can build trust and be viewed as a role model. A team is a family, and I believe that everyone should share a sense of respect for their teammates. I strive for a respected environment amongst my teammates. I have been the new player on a team and from personal experience, I know how beneficial an older team member taking you under their wing can be. Having mutual communication, I always aim to be a figure that people feel comfortable coming to for support. These leadership skills have helped me grow in confidence as well as help others fulfill their
I would like to return the favor by offering the same help and guidance to new players, that the team leaders did before me. All in all, being a leader is a large part of my life and it has taught me many things. Things like setting an example and staying dedicated come with being a leader. Even though having these responsibilities has its pros and cons, I will continue to strive to lead well in everything I

Joining this organization would allow me to grow as an individual in school and outside of school, and as a person. I believe I show many great qualities that demonstrate the four pillars that this organization stands by Leadership, Character, Service, and Scholarship.
You do not need to be in the National Junior Honor Society or any organization to assist the people around you and better the world. I hope that any future goals of mine, along with my education, include some aspect of community service and a way to aid many others while accomplishing the things I love to do. Yet, citizenship is another essential pillar playing a part in my future objectives. I believe that any service or virtue you do somehow relates to citizenship. To not only take pride in where you come from but also in how you can help your country by doing your part, is what it means to truly display citizenship.
I believe I display all of the qualities mentioned in the four pillars of National Honor Society. I am a person of good character who displays the six pillars of character in everything I do. Dear the National Honor Society selection committee, Thank you for the great honor of being invited to apply for membership to such a well-respected and incredible organization. I am very excited about this opportunity as it presents an optimal way in which to further my passion of expanding my mind and bettering my community. Since I entered high school, I have pursued this by taking all honors classes and any Advanced Placement classes offered to me each year. Although sometimes I was not always entirely sure what to expect walking into each class, and of course there have been classes I like more than others, there is no class I regret taking because each and every one has opened my mind up to a new way of thinking.
It is a great honor to be nominated as a member of the National Honor Society. There are many reasons why I want to take part in NHS. One reason why I want to be in it is to continue to grow academically with people who have the same goals as me. I want to be encouraged, not discouraged by the people around me. If I get into NHS, it will give me a lot of opportunities to be a leader.
I will make sure to do my part by leading by example, serving my community and school, staying true to myself, and performing in school to the best of my ability. It would be an honor to be a part of such an extraordinary program in which I can better myself and my community. I am so thankful to the many teachers who have considered me as a candidate for the National Honor Society. As I aspire to become a member of this organization, I will make it my duty to be an active member in my community and will maintain my leadership, service, character, and scholarship
This is what the National Honor Society hopes for in a member. I know i’m not perfect and can make mistakes at times, but acknowledging that takes a lot of character. My academic achievements are a result of my determination and drive to ensure that i’ll be able to achieve success in the future as well as serve as role model to the younger siblings and cousins in my family. Getting good grades is a priority to me. Having a XX GPA and being a Distinguished Varsity Scholar for the past 3 years didn 't happen by luck, it happened because of the sheer dedication I have towards my school and
The National Honor Society is built upon four founding principles: Scholarship, Character, Leadership, and Service. I have a high school life filled with dedication to these four principles on the Spiritual standpoint, the Familial level, the Community level and finally at the National level. Moreover, I did begin my dedication to these same four principles even before this starting with the Boy Scouts of America and this commitment will continue along with having a rich future when I reach my fullest potential. I firmly believe that to have academic excellence is giving your best effort to maintain not just having straight As and a high GPA at or close to the edge of attaining a 4.0, but to also have the skills that help you perform your very best in college and beyond. To recap, it is having a well-rounded education with just the right academics and activities best suited to your
National Honor society was established to recognize outstanding high school students. National Honor society recognizes students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of academic success, leadership, character and service. I should be in National Honor Society because I think I represent a lot of the qualities needed to be in this organization. Throughout my years in high school, I have been very involved in the band program here at Langham Creek. As a freshman, I started out in Concert 2 band.
1. My philosophy of leadership is about collaboration and teamwork. Respecting and treating everyone the same, is key to supporting a good team atmosphere. I believe when a leader puts effort and care into assisting others, then their peers and followers will naturally want to support them. It is also important for a leader to recognize, that advocacy must never become so important that the critical elements of leadership are neglected (e.g. policy enforcement, command support, etc...).
