2011 was a rough patch for my family because we had to move from Utah to Texas. It was difficult because I had to go to a new school and it just so happens that my mom got a job at my elementary school. On my first day at my new elementary school, kids made fun of me because my mom worked there. I used optimism, courage, and adaptability to be resilient and to overcome the hardships of moving to a new area.
I used optimism by always hoping for the best. Being optimistic doesn’t just mean being hopeful, it also means to be confident. I was nervous at first, but after the first day I knew how the other kids at my school saw me. Then, I was confident that it would all end up okay. When you move to a new school, all you care about is how the other kids see you and if they want to be friends with you. Since I had optimism, I was hopeful and confident for the future.

Being courageous means to be brave and to do something that is out of your comfort zone. I wasn’t courageous the first couple of days, and when I wasn’t, the teasing just got worse, so I became courageous and the kids didn’t tease me.
Adaptability is huge in the process of moving to a new area. You have to adapt to the culture there. From Utah to Texas, there’s not much of a culture change, but there is a people difference. I didn’t know anyone from Texas and all of my friends and family lived in Utah, so I had to adapt here and make friends and get to know other people once I moved here.
Being adaptable, courageous, and optimizable makes the difference between being resilient and not being resilient. Resiliency is different in everyone and for me, it’s being able to use optimism, adaptability and courage. In some ways, I’m grateful that I moved, because if I didn’t I would have never been given the chance to be
So much has happened to me in my 14 years of living! I’ve changed schools twice, made the Rocky Mountain Ballroom team, and met my best friends ever in the 2nd grade. So much more has happened in my life but these are some of the best things! All of these have helped me get through thick and thin. Changing schools the first time was pretty rough.
Shure being courageous isn't going to be fighting bears, climbing mountains and being a hero. Courage can be the little things to like having the balls to admit your wrong, or swallowing your pride to apologize to someone when you know you're wrong. Like honor their are a multitude of different scenarios in which one can be courageous. It mainly depends on where your roots lie, maybe in your mind it takes a lot of courage to hold a chicken due to an acute fear of avian creatures. Telling all your twenty
Jumping into Fame Palms sweating, heart racing, I sat in my chair waiting to go up on the podium. All I could think about was what if people don’t like my confirmation paper, or will I say the wrong thing and make the church upset? Thoughts were swirling through my head, I heard my name being called. Debating whether or not I should sprint out of the room or take on the obligation, I walked in front of the congregation. Even though it was mentally hard, I managed to overcome my emotions inside.
Many say Courageousness is standing up for something you know is wrong, speaking up when no one wants to listen, taking action in something that many others consider unwanted, I believe that courage is a combination of all of these.n the novel of Roll Of Thunder Hear my cry, Mildred D Taylor created a character named Stacey who will do anything in order to protect those around him (especially family) Stacey was courageous because he went to places that were against the rules or somewhere that not many kids his age should go to, Stacey destroyed the bus by digging a ditch, and took initiative a few times. Stacey deals with problems in a courages way by standing his ground and not taking no as a rebuttal or an answer while taking action. Stacey will do everything in his power as a black boy in order to provide for his family and will help his family (specifically cassie) when they start to realize that the world is unfair. Have you ever gone somewhere that you shouldn 't have or that common sense says is a bad idea, because Stacey did exactly that. Stacey has gone to many places that he shouldn 't have or that he knew would be dangerous.
Moving to Kansas was a big change in my life. At the end of the school year of 2011, four weeks before the last day of school we went on the eight hour road trip to Newton, Kansas. It was exciting. Getting a new place to live, a new home. Change is good, well mostly good.
Many characters through the story, ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’, have faced situations to be courageous, shown through many different examples. Boo radley, Atticus, & Scout are the main characters that had to show courage continuously in the story. To be courageous means to be brave in situations that other people may not agree with but in your mind you know its right to say and/do something. Boo Radley was a very shy but, courageous character all throughout the story. He was always in his house because of the trauma in his childhood.
Breaking The Chains Of Conformity With Courage Courage is similar to being the ripened fruit on a barren tree, it gives life and color to a dull exterior. The courage that others display gives our nation determination for another day. Courage is the ability to prevail through hardships, to reveal your true inner nature, and to stand up for what you believe, when the rest of the world falls as a slave to conformity. Hardships are lurking around every corner of our life ready to immerse whenever we least expect them.
Courageous Character Courage means when you are able to do something or stand up for someone or something, despite when people say that you shouldn't do it, or when you know there will be consequences for doing the right thing. Throughout the novel, Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry, Mildred D. Taylor uses the young Cassie Logan as an example of a young girl with courage, strength, and stands up for her beliefs and her family no matter what gets in her way.
The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak is a very courageous book, it is chock full of courage! It took courage to defy Hitler and other bullies, because usually if you did, you died. Also it took courage for Rudy to jump in the river, for Hans to willingly go to war again, and for Liesel to confront Ilsa about her problems. Courage can be applied today by describing military members, law enforcement, etc. The Book Thief is absolutely full of courage.
Have you ever felt uncomfortable, nervous, and confused ? These are all the things I felt moving to a new school. I had no idea if I would gain friends or if anyone would like me. Maybe if I had a tour around the new school before my first day I would have not been so disorientated. Going from a one story school to a two story school was hard, having to look down every five seconds to make sure I was on the right hall, or if I was suppose to be upstairs or downstairs.
Hope. Hope is one of the three theological virtues (from which human virtues derive from). It is what gives human their character, we act in accordance to our moral virtue. According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, hope is defined as “the theological virtue by which we desire and expect from God, both eternal life and the grace we need to attain it.” According to Benedict XVI and Catherine of Siena, Christian hope enriches and deepens human friendship/community and it is why hope serves a purpose in our lives to the kingdom of heaven.
Hope, with its many shapes and forms is present in everyone's lifetime at some point in their lives. For some people, hope might have already vanished before their own eyes, while for others, hey are attempting to hold on to it with their last strength for it is what gives meaning to what they perceive as reality. Hope is what calms you when you feel that the ground you are standing is crumbling into million pieces while all you can do is wait for the storm to past. Hope is the thing many hold precious to them because it is what motivates them to keep running, walking or even crawling to the miniature light that they see at the end of the mysterious, somber cave that attempts to holds them prisoners until they succumb to despair. Hope is
Optimism is hopefulness for the future, and, like me, most people get their optimism from their roots, or how they were brought up as a child. My parents would always remind me from a young age that being pessimistic will not help you achieve your goal, so you might as well be optimistic and try. They have always taught me from a young age, and never denied or doubted, that with optimism comes opportunity, and that optimism is, in fact, the key to success. Over the years, I’ve learned that the more optimistic you are, the more creative you can be. With optimistic attitude, one can generate new ideas and create possibilities to move forward faster and more efficiently than at normal times, due to an open mind.
Courage is having the ability to act, despite fear, pain, or uncertainty. Courage does not suppress fear but allows one to continue in the face of fear. I made the decision, for example, to tell my parents about my sexuality. I am gay, and I knew the scrutiny I could face at home, and in society if I told my parents. Although fearful, I was courageous, and shared with them that I was going though.
So, in the end, optimists and pessimist have their own different perspectives but that does not mean they cannot coexist. Often we find ourselves being optimistic and pessimistic at the same to take the best choices in our lives. But, being optimistic will pay off in many fields of life, whether it is your lover you are dealing with or battling cancer or even having a tough boss, optimists will have the upper
