The HLTA must talk to parents with the understanding of the class teacher this could be done in general conversation or more in-depth if you need to talk about the progress of their child/young person .The HLTA can then explain what their child /young person is doing in school and the ways in which the parent /carer are able to help and give support at home. Therefore, I understand the importance of working closely with parents, other teachers, administrators, and community members to ensure a learning experience that addresses the whole student, both academically and personally. Parents’ involvement in the students’ learning can be very beneficial in increasing the students’ academic achievement. Partnering with parents will help me understand about their goals and expectations for their child. Additionally, it will open communications to help us work as a team to support the student’s needs at home with homework, improving any behavior issues, and bridging cultural gaps which may exist. Secondly, working with other teachers and administrators will help me broaden my instructional strategies and provide me with valuable insight and knowledge they can provide.
First, it is a good thing that a parent expressed a concern of the child’s need. That means the parents cares about his or her child’s education. Second, I will listen of the parent’s concern carefully. If the parent’s concern indeed reflects an issue in my teaching, I will address the issue properly.
I have noticed that these parent contacts have made a huge difference with my student’s attitude and behavior. I also began to share with parents if their child has done something good during that school day. I think sharing the positive things with parents as well as the negative is very helpful because parents always enjoy hearing when their child has done something nice. With these actions in mind, I noticed that parents began to feel relaxed when they came to the classroom or when they come to see me. All childcare providers must have, and implement, a safeguarding policy and procedures, which should be in line with the guidance and procedures of the Local Safeguarding Children’s Board.
As a teacher, it is my responsibility to share information on the development of the child and have a clear and constant flow of dialogue with the family. This will enable both parties to deal with any issues that may arise within the family, school or community. It also my belief that parents should have an active part in their child’s learning and be able to lend a hand whenever necessary, and having open communication with them will allow this transparency and connection between home and school.
